Chapter 125 No Evidence of Death

The killer of Arthur is gone.
There is no need to investigate further or gather evidence.
It all comes to an end.
"Miss Garcia, your statement is recorded, go take care of your wound," the police officer advised.
Mae said, "Haley, you are too kind. You are injured; why not go to the hospital first instead of coming to the police station?"
Haley, with red eyes and a weary face, replied, "That's enough, everything is settled. Let's go to the hospital now."
Mae supported Haley as they walked.
They coincidentally met Pearl.
Haley looked at Pearl and said, "What a coincidence to meet you at the police station."
Pearl carefully observed Haley's injured hand and blood-stained clothes, saying, "Coincidences are rare, right? Someone fell to death, and it happened from your place."
Haley paused for a moment, knowing the outcome but still asked, "You mean Seraphina?"
Haley stood still and continued, saying, "Seraphina came to me for some reason, wanting to kill me. It's terrifying. I heard she broke the law, right? I heard it, maybe a fugitive. I can't bother with that now."
"By the way, I've met Seraphina a few times, all at The Brown Family. She got pregnant with Oscar's child, knew about the things between Oscar and me. Could it be jealousy and resentment that drove her to try to kill me?" Haley reasoned, "Seraphina liked Oscar, it was just a one-night stand, and she thought she was Mrs. Brown. Such a person isn't good, unfortunately, she took the wrong path at a young age."
Haley distanced herself from everything, making sure it had nothing to do with her.
"I'm not so sure about that," Pearl stared at Haley, saying, "Seraphina Everhart's foolish actions, you might have had a hand in them."
"What actions? I don't understand what you're talking about. I'm a victim, Pearl. The police said that Seraphina accidentally fell. Do you still suspect me?" Haley asked.
"I didn't say that." Pearl replied, "You know what you've done. If you plan to play your old tricks again, think about whether luck will be on your side next time!"
Coincidences do happen.
Seraphina and Haley had interactions, indicating they must have conspired.
Haley might be the one who brainwashed Seraphina.
As Haley and Pearl faced off, there was a commotion outside.
Haley looked first and saw someone entering. Upon seeing the person, Haley's face filled with distress, and she immediately exclaimed, "Oscar."
Hearing this, Pearl also turned and indeed saw Oscar approaching.
He looked serious, his gaze shifting from her to Haley.
Tears welled up in Haley's eyes as she cried, saying, "Oscar, why are you here? Did you receive a message? I almost died, I was so scared, my heart is still trembling."
Pearl observed Haley's display of weakness and vulnerability, contrasting with her earlier toughness.
Oscar glanced at Haley's injured hand, the simple bandaged wound still bleeding, and furrowed his brow, saying, "Your hand is injured, why didn't you go to the hospital first?"
Haley said with a sense of grievance, "I want to clear things up with the police first before going to the hospital. That way, I can feel at ease, especially since someone died in my place."
"First, ensure your own safety before anything else!" Oscar's expression turned serious and he said, "You are being too stubborn!"
"Harold Lewis, take her to the hospital!"
"Alright, Mr. Brown." Harold responded promptly.
Haley looked at Oscar, saying, "Aren't you coming with me?"
Oscar replied, "I have some matters to attend to here. I'll come see you afterward."
Knowing that Oscar would eventually visit her, Haley felt relieved and said, "Okay, I'll wait for you. I'll go to the hospital first."
After saying that, Haley glanced at Pearl.
Pearl remained silent, as Oscar had always been very caring towards Haley.
With such terrible injuries, he must be anxious.
Pearl could only watch silently.
"Are you okay?" Oscar suddenly turned to Pearl.
Pearl put her hands in her pockets and replied casually, "When I arrived, Seraphina was already dead. The police told me that if there are no other suspects, Arthur's death will be closed."
"Are you sure it was Seraphina?"
Pearl nodded and answered, "Yes, she's dead, and everything is over."
Resentment dissipates over time.
Initially angry for being manipulated, Pearl surprisingly found herself letting go quickly.
"Now that it's closed, let's go," Oscar suggested.
Pearl looked at Oscar, asking, "Go where?"
"Where do you want to go?" Oscar hesitated.
Pearl just looked outside, saying, "Haley is seriously injured. Aren't you going to see her later? It's not on your way, so if you want to see her, go ahead."
Pearl appeared generous, but her hand clenched in her pocket, revealing her inner jealousy.
This was something Pearl could never let go of.
Oscar gazed at Pearl, seeing no further conversation, who was urging Oscar to leave, saying, "Where are you going alone?"
"Back home."
Pearl took a deep breath and said, "My parents said I can go back to sleep."
Pearl wouldn't need to return to The Brown Family.
"Alright," Oscar responded lightly.
Pearl tightened her fist and added, "Don't you find this situation suspicious? Seraphina went to find Haley and then fell from her building."
Oscar showed little emotion on his face and asked, "What did the police say?"
Pearl pursed her lips and said helplessly, "They said it was an accidental fall."
"If it was an accidental fall, then it was an accidental fall. Trust the police's judgment," Oscar stated.
Setting aside the accidental fall, the suspicion lay in Seraphina's intention to harm Haley.
"Why did she go to Haley?"
This was something Pearl couldn't understand. Seraphina's motive to harm Haley seemed reckless.
Pearl had concerns, but Oscar would ultimately believe Haley an
