Chapter 453 Louis Specifically Asked for You

The gun in Pearl's hand didn't faze Louis at all.

Louis quickly struck, twisting her wrist, and the black handgun clattered to the ground.

He grabbed Pearl by the neck. "Oscar, I know your people are here. I'm letting you leave now. If you want Pearl, bring Jeffery in exchange."

Capturing her alone was better than getting all of them. Pearl yelled, "Oscar, you need to go!"

Oscar looked at Pearl, eyes full of reluctance and regret, but the gunfire didn't stop.

Then the military stormed in.

Elijah and Nicholas tracked him down. "Mr. Brown, orders from above say not to engage with RavenWing for now."

"Oscar, go!" Pearl shouted again.

Oscar was dragged away.

Soon, things calmed down, but the place was a mess.

Louis let go of Pearl. "Want to learn some self-defense?"

When he grabbed her wrist earlier, she had fought back.

Pearl knew basic self-defense but could improve.

She coldly replied, "Not interested."

She turned her back on Louis, worried about Oscar. He had infiltrated this place, and once he returned, he'd search for Jeffery.

She didn't want to drag Jeffery into this.

Louis watched her, wanting to say something but held back.

Oscar kept struggling, even trying to fight Elijah. Elijah and Nicholas ganged up on him and knocked him out.

When Oscar woke up, he was in the military camp.

He immediately got up to find Pearl.

Elijah stopped him. "Mr. Brown, we know you're worried about Ms. Harris and want to rescue her. But you have a greater responsibility and can't go back now."

After what happened, RavenWing would be on high alert.

"Then fight!" Oscar's face darkened, and he spat out the words through gritted teeth.

His expression grew more ferocious.

Nicholas said, "Mr. Brown, the country doesn't want us to engage with RavenWing. We're peacekeepers; we can't interfere in Eldorian internal conflicts."

Oscar's eyes were cold. "So, we just leave Pearl there and do nothing?"

"Pearl is a Tranquiloria citizen. We won't engage with the Eldorians, but they can't hold Pearl either, publicly or privately."

"I'm not saying that, Mr. Brown. We understand you're anxious. We can negotiate; the Eldorians have no reason to conflict with Tranquilorians," Nicholas explained.

If they could negotiate, there'd be no need to fight.

Tranquiloria is committed to peace. An attack would let other allied forces create chaos.

Elijah also tried to persuade him. "Mr. Brown, we need to find a way to rescue Ms. Harris."

Oscar thought about what Louis had said. Since Louis knew about the poison and mentioned an antidote, he should contact Jeffery.

Most importantly, Jeffery could also get Pearl out.

After a moment of silence, Oscar dialed Jeffery's number.

It rang for a while before Jeffery picked up, sounding weak. "What do you want?"

"Pearl is trapped by RavenWing," Oscar said, his voice hoarse. Jeffery's voice suddenly rose, almost breaking. "What did you say?"

Realizing what had happened, Jeffery got furious. "Oscar, didn't you promise to protect Pearl?"

Plus, Barbara was with Pearl.

Oscar didn't respond, his expression solemn. His throat felt tight, making it hard to speak.

Pearl's predicament was indeed his fault.

Otherwise, Pearl wouldn't have been poisoned, and their child wouldn't have been separated from them.

"Louis specifically asked for you."

"I understand."

With those words, Jeffery hung up. He didn't say much, but he was determined not to let anything happen to Carol.

Pearl stayed with Louis and didn't return to the slave camp.

Her food was top quality, and Louis even sent her new clothes.

Pearl knew that since Louis wanted to see Jeffery and control Oscar through her, he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

She ate and changed clothes, not making things difficult for herself.

Unexpectedly, RavenWing showed up.

RavenWing's mask looked particularly frightening. With his hands behind his back, he almost lost his composure when he saw Pearl.

He had investigated and found out that Pearl's face was natural, not the result of cosmetic surgery.

Pearl had an ordinary family, a mother named Kittie, and a father named Evans.

And she had a husband named Oscar.

"I didn't expect my troops to be almost overturned by Oscar. And you, with your status, even attracted Louis," a deep voice came from across Pearl.

Pearl glanced at him briefly before looking away. There was nothing appealing about a man in a mask. She held no affection for RavenWing at all.

RavenWing noticed Pearl's silence and the disdain in her glance, but before he could say anything, Louis strode over.

Louis stood protectively in front of Pearl. "Pearl is staying with me. If you have so much free time, why don't you continue with your experiments and stop meddling?"

RavenWing didn't respond, and no one knew what expression lay beneath his mask.

However, Louis's protective stance towards Pearl made RavenWing aware of something. "I just wanted to talk with her. Why are you so nervous? If something really happened to her, would you kill me?"

Louis understood what RavenWing was implying, but he still needed to get to the bottom of everything first.

"I don't want to argue with you in front of outsiders," Louis coldly replied.

RavenWing said nothing and turned to leave.

RavenWing's personal visit to Louis made Carol feel a sense of crisis because RavenWing clearly knew Pearl was staying with Louis, yet he did nothing.

Even Oscar had managed to leave successfully!

Louis treated Pearl well and showed her favoritism, but what about Oscar? Did Louis favor Oscar too? Or had they reached some sort of agreement?
