Chapter 445 Why Are You So Good to Pearl

Pearl knew their relationship, so she was just testing him.

Louis smiled and said, "I told you to find someone. Once you do, you can leave. But with the war, staying here is safest."

His voice was gentle and husky, and he kept his eyes on Pearl.

Oscar, standing behind Pearl, felt a heavy weight in his chest. He just wanted to pull Pearl into his arms.

"Let's go," Louis said slowly before Pearl could speak.

He didn't say where they were going, and Pearl knew leaving meant being separated from Oscar. Louis wouldn't take him along.

Pearl's mind raced.

"Louis," she called out.

Louis turned to her, waiting for her to speak.

Pearl hesitated, "I don't want to go where you're taking me. I'd like to focus on looking for my friends."

She knew she couldn't make decisions, but she needed to test Louis and couldn't just follow him blindly.

Louis's expression didn't change much, but his gaze shifted to Oscar.

Oscar's expression stayed the same, but his eyes looked sharper.

"Come with me. You'll be back soon."

"Alright."

She couldn't refuse. She gestured to Oscar, but he didn't want her to leave.

What if he never saw her again?

"You come too," Louis said, looking at Oscar, who was restless.

They weren't far from RavenWing's place.

In a few minutes, Louis brought Pearl and Oscar over.

When RavenWing saw Pearl, his eyes darkened. He hadn't expected the woman he saw before was the one Carol brought back!

RavenWing asked, "What's your name?"

"Pearl," she replied.

Seeing the fanged mask and the luxurious setup, Pearl knew this was RavenWing. For their safety, they had to comply.

Oscar was calculating everything in his mind.

RavenWing waved his hand, and Louis cleared everyone out, including Oscar, who had no choice but to leave.

Pearl became suspicious and nervous.

RavenWing finally spoke, "Which part of Tranquiloria are you from?"

"Willow Creek," Pearl said, clenching her hands. She was scared.

RavenWing didn't respond. Willow Creek—what a coincidence, especially since Pearl resembled Francesca.

Pearl stood there, feeling uneasy.

"What is your relationship with Louis?" RavenWing asked, remembering the first time he saw Pearl, she said she belonged to Louis.

Pearl answered truthfully, "We're friends. We met in the village, talked a few times, and got to know each other. But your daughter Carol sees me as a rival."

Carol had been targeting Pearl, wanting her dead.

Pearl had pieced together some of what was happening.

"What’s your angle with Louis?" RavenWing asked, his voice thick with anger.

His masked face made Pearl uneasy.

Pearl lowered her head. "We just met by chance; I have no agenda."

Only Louis knew her true intentions.

She wasn't sure if Louis had told RavenWing about her, so she gambled, hoping Louis, who taught kids and helped villagers, was a good person now.

She bet right.

RavenWing chuckled. "What’s a Tranquiloria native doing here?"

He pulled out a gun and aimed it at Pearl's forehead. Pearl had seen war, but this scared her. One wrong word, and she could be dead.

"I'm looking for someone. I was poisoned with kA48, an Eldorian toxin. My friend came to save me. I got caught in the war and Carol sees me as a rival. I just want to survive," Pearl said, her voice trembling.

Outside, Oscar paced anxiously.

He wanted to rush in, but Louis was ahead of him.

Giovanni held him back.

"If you don't want RavenWing to shoot you both, stay put," Giovanni warned.

Oscar's face hardened.

Giovanni's words confirmed Pearl's suspicions; they were being watched.

But could he just watch her in danger?

No way.

Oscar had to find a way to capture RavenWing and get Pearl out of there!

Giovanni seemed to read his mind and said, "Don't act rashly. Mr. Mitchell won't let anything happen to Pearl."

Oscar's face grew even grimmer. 'Why was Louis so protective of Pearl? What was their relationship?'

Giovanni stepped forward and discreetly pressed a gun against his waist.

Louis walked in and saw RavenWing holding a gun to Pearl's head. His heart raced with urgency.

"RavenWing, what’s this about? It’s hard enough for me to have someone by my side, and you want to turn us against each other?" Louis shouted.

Before he figured things out, Pearl couldn't die.

He had to protect her now!

RavenWing smirked coldly. "This Pearl has guts, but she doesn’t deserve to be with you."

"Throw her into the slave camp, or you’ll disappoint Carol."

RavenWing pulled the trigger.

At the last moment, Louis pushed Pearl aside.

The bullet hit Louis's shoulder.

Pearl stood frozen, in disbelief. She had always been suspicious of Louis, knowing his connection to RavenWing.

But Louis saved her!

RavenWing's face darkened.

"Louis, do you know what you’re doing?"
