Chapter 504 An Opportunity

More and more people were talking.

Charles stood there, expressionless.

Oscar held Christopher tightly, silent but his eyes said it all.

He hadn't wanted to go this far, but Charles pushed him.

"Give me the antidote. I've always been loyal to Tranquiloria. I'm here because you saved me. I want to go back."

"Mr. Charles Stewart! We can't let someone from Tranquiloria stay with us!"

"Mr. Charles Stewart, please reconsider!"

These were high-ranking officials around Charles.

Charles looked at Oscar, whose face was cold and stern. Oscar believed his actions were necessary.

"Don't forget, you're my son! Without me, you'd be dead!"

"Of course, I haven't forgotten. And don't you forget, I was a soldier of Tranquiloria. If you don't want their army attacking Serenea, you'd better let us go."

Oscar showed no fear.

A fierce coldness flashed in Charles's eyes.

Others began to persuade Charles, "Mr. Charles Stewart, Serenea has many enemies. Tranquiloria is our ally. If they join the war, we can't withstand it!"

"Mr. Charles Stewart, think about our country and our people!"

Charles didn't want to hear it. "Oscar, you've done well. But not everything will go your way."

The coldness in Charles's eyes deepened.

Oscar realized Charles wouldn't give him the medicine, but he had to take Christopher and Pearl away. Reuniting the family was his dream.

Charles signaled, and people made way for Oscar.

When Oscar returned to Pearl with Christopher, she immediately asked, "Did you get the medicine? How is Christopher?"

'Other kids are happy, but Christopher lives in a war zone and suffers.' Pearl felt guilty, thinking it was her fault.

Oscar wanted to lie, but seeing her anxious, he couldn't.

"I didn't get the medicine. But we're going back to Willow Creek. I'll find everyone I can and spare no expense to treat Christopher."

Pearl staggered, but Jeffery caught her.

Seeing Pearl like this, Oscar felt deep pain.

He wanted to keep it from her, but he knew Pearl wouldn't want that, so he told her the truth.

Pearl made a decision, "If Charles demands you stay here, then I agree."

Being apart was nothing, as long as Christopher and Oscar were alive. Seeing Christopher suffer and Oscar in agony was unbearable for her.

Oscar choked up and hugged Pearl tightly. "No, don't say that. It's my fault. I didn't take good care of you. I'll spend my life making it up to you. Don't leave. Christopher and I need you."

If Oscar and Christopher stayed in Serenea, Pearl would be alone. Jeffery saw another chance but knew Pearl would be in pain, and he only wanted her to be happy.

Jeffery stepped forward. "Pearl, don't worry. You still have me and RavenWing. Remember my past?"

Jeffery's words woke her up. RavenWing had done various research and experiments, even using Jeffery as an experimental subject.

So, RavenWing might have a solution.

Pearl seemed to find hope. "Oscar, let's go to Eldorians first!"

"Okay," Oscar replied hoarsely, following Pearl.

Jeffery followed, determined to stay by Pearl's side as long as she was happy.

Christopher woke up.

Seeing Oscar and Pearl, he smiled. He was happy because they were with him.

"It feels like a dream," Christopher said weakly.

Pearl held his hand tightly. "Christopher, don't be afraid. I'll always be here. Your Dad will be too. We'll go to where Mom and Dad grew up. You'll go to school and make friends."

"Okay."

It's a long way from Serenea to Eldorians, but Oscar moved quickly.

When Pearl appeared in front of RavenWing with Christopher, RavenWing understood. Louis had already told him that Pearl's child and Oscar were alive. He promised Pearl, "Don't worry, as long as Christopher is with me, nothing will happen to him. You can do what you need to."

"No, I won't leave until Christopher gets better. I know bringing him to you suddenly is unexpected, but you're his only hope. If you save him, I'll agree to everything you asked for before." Pearl's voice was hoarse.

She had no other choice.

RavenWing felt both distant and heartbroken.

He reached out to pull Pearl closer but withdrew his hand, knowing her usual attitude. For Pearl, this was already a concession.

He smiled. "Don't worry, Christopher is my grandson. I'll do everything to cure him."

Christopher was the turning point between him and Pearl, and he intended to seize it.

RavenWing took Christopher away, while Louis escorted Pearl and Oscar to rest. But none of them noticed Jeffery quietly following RavenWing to the lab.

Once he confirmed it was just him, RavenWing, and Christopher in the lab, Jeffery spoke, "RavenWing, how about you turn me back into an experimental subject?"

Jeffery's expression was calm. For Pearl, he was willing to do anything.
