Chapter 425 Dinner

Pearl looked at Valentina, already knowing what she was hinting at.

"Are you making it for Oscar?" Pearl asked.

Valentina laughed. "Yeah, Mr. Brown's been great to Javier and me. He even got hurt saving us. I owe him big time and don't know how to repay him."

She added, "I noticed Mr. Brown's always alone. He must be single, right?"

Pearl replied, "Why don't you ask him yourself?"

Valentina, a bit shy, said, "How could I? I had to ask you. You talk to him a lot, so you must know."

"You've been around him long enough. Shouldn't you know by now? Or do you think I'd get in the way?" Pearl said bluntly.

"That's not what I meant," Valentina softened. "Ms. Harris, I know Mr. Brown isn't interested in you like that. Did I offend you? I'm sorry."

Pearl didn't want to be too harsh. "If you didn't mean it, then neither did I. If you want to learn to cook, find someone else. I'm not the right person."

"Okay, I get it," Valentina said, lowering her head and walking out, smiling to herself.

She thought Pearl had some special skills, but it turned out she didn't. Valentina felt confident she could make a good dinner for Oscar.

That night, the bonfire was lit again.

Pearl looked at the starry sky, feeling homesick.

"Ms. Harris!" Elijah called, his hair still wet.

Pearl watched him walk over.

"Mr. Brown left his belt with me. Can you put it in his tent?" Elijah asked.

"Why don't you take it to him?" Pearl replied.

"I'm on duty tonight. They all went to the river, and I'm about to change shifts. I don't have time. Please help me out! If Mr. Brown finds another mistake, he'll definitely punish me!"

Pearl sighed, "Alright, I'll do it."

"Thanks! Mr. Brown probably hasn't come back yet," Elijah said, giving her a thumbs up.

Pearl couldn't refuse and agreed to help.

Valentina found out Oscar hadn't eaten that evening. Everyone had sweated a lot during their mission and went to the river to bathe.

Seeing Oscar's tent unguarded, Valentina quickly brought in the dinner she had prepared. She had dressed up, wearing her favorite dress and tidying her hair.

As she walked in, Valentina felt the air inside was different, filled with the scent of hormones. The bed was neatly made, and the table was clean.

She placed the dinner on the table and waited, folding his clothes to pass the time.

Suddenly, she heard, "Mr. Brown!"

Valentina stood up, feeling expectant and excited.

Oscar returned from the river, his hair wet, drying himself with a towel. His shirt collar was unbuttoned, revealing his broad chest. His body, sculpted from long-term training, was flawless, and combined with his handsome face, he was impeccable.

But as he walked in and heard, "Mr. Brown!" his face instantly turned cold. "What are you doing here?"

Valentina said, "I heard you didn't eat tonight, so I made you some dinner."

Trying to impress him, she quickly added, "You must not be used to the food here. I made some Tranquiloria dishes. Sit down and try it. See if it reminds you of home."

"Get out!" Oscar said coldly.

Valentina's face stiffened. "Mr. Brown."

"Don't make me repeat myself!" Oscar's tone grew harsher.

Valentina, seeing her chance slipping away, quickly stepped forward and hugged him. "Don't drive me away, Mr. Brown. You're all I have now."

Just then, Pearl walked in.
