Chapter 535 Remarriage

For Pearl, if she had to pick between the wedding and Christopher, she'd go with Christopher, no doubt.

"Now, Christopher..."

"Don't you wanna make up for it?" Oscar cut Pearl off.

Pearl had been head over heels for Oscar for ages. She wanted to fix things even more than he did. But they weren't spring chickens anymore, and Christopher was already all grown up.

If they started talking about a wedding now, wouldn't folks think they were just putting on a show?

"Let's go renew our vows today."

Oscar walked up to Pearl, holding her hand in one and offering her a rose with the other. The food he bought was handed over to Christopher.

Christopher always knew Oscar and Pearl needed to patch things up. At this crucial moment, he naturally had to be more understanding.

After Christopher left with the food, it was just Oscar and Pearl.

"We can go today. But about the wedding..."

"What are you worried about? Even folks in their seventies and eighties can have a wedding. We're not even forty yet, so why can't we have one?" Oscar interrupted her, determination written all over his face.

He had promised in front of RavenWing and made a statement in front of Charles. It took them five years to get back home.

If he didn't make it up to Pearl properly, it would be a lifelong regret!

"I'm scared."

"What are you afraid of? We're having our wedding, and we're not spending anyone else's money. We're living our own lives and don't need anyone else's judgment. Pearl, you don't need to be afraid," Oscar held Pearl's hand firmly, speaking each word with conviction.

He already had plans for this wedding.

He wanted everyone to know that he was going to marry Pearl, and he would hold her hand and live a happy life together for the rest of their lives.

No, it was that the three of them would live well together as a family.

However, just as Oscar and Pearl reached the door, they ran into Magdalen.

Seeing them holding hands, Magdalen couldn't help but smile. "Where are you planning to go?"

"I'm planning to take Pearl to renew our vows," Oscar didn't hide it.

In fact, the first thing he planned to do upon returning to Willow Creek was to remarry Pearl. However, he had many things to deal with, such as the fact that he had previously been declared dead and was now alive again.

He needed to continue living as Oscar, and Pearl had also gone to see Evans and Kittie.

Upon hearing this, Magdalen gave Oscar a stern look. "Sometimes I don't even know what to say about your decisions!"

He had actually divorced Pearl back then!

Oscar looked at Pearl, a smile slowly forming on his lips. "That's because I want to make all the necessary preparations for her. We've already made an appointment. Christopher is at home, and we should be back in about an hour."

They would just get the marriage certificate and then go home.

"Alright, go ahead. I'll wait here for you to come back."

She wasn't gonna stop them.

Oscar and Pearl exchanged a smile and took off together.

Magdalen spotted Christopher, who looked pretty delicate.

"Hey there, Christopher," Magdalen greeted him as he munched on the food Oscar had bought.

Hearing her voice, Christopher looked up. He didn't say anything but took in her appearance.

Magdalen was young and really pretty.

Especially now, she spoke gently and softly.

"Who are you?" Christopher asked slowly.

Even though he had more people around him these days and wasn't so lonely, Christopher still didn't like to talk much. And when he did, he spoke slowly.

Magdalen immediately picked up on it. She didn't know what kind of hardships Christopher had gone through to speak so slowly. He must've had a rough time.

Magdalen extended her hand to him. "I'm Magdalen. Wanna go out and play with me?"

Christopher didn't say anything. He blinked his big eyes twice, then shook his head. "I wanna wait for Mom."

"Mom" was the word Christopher could say most clearly now. Seeing that, Magdalen didn't push him.

She waited with Christopher for Oscar and Pearl.

Meanwhile, Oscar and Pearl arrived at the City Hall, only to bump into Sophia.

Sophia's jaw dropped when she saw Oscar and Pearl together.

She even pinched herself to make sure it hurt.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing wasn't a dream but real life. Oscar and Pearl were actually standing in front of her.

"He's not dead, and I'm no longer a war correspondent," Pearl said slowly, but a clear smile formed at the corners of her mouth.

"That's awesome!"

When the news of Oscar's death first spread, even Hunter and Sophia felt bad for him. Sadly, they couldn't do much to help Pearl.

Sophia knew Pearl because of Oscar. When Oscar was gone, they had even less contact.

Seeing Pearl and Oscar together at the City Hall now was mind-blowing.

Oscar said, "We're here to renew our vows. What about you?"

Pearl couldn't stop Oscar in time!

"I'm here to register my marriage," Sophia said shyly, lowering her head.

"Congrats!" Pearl and Oscar said almost in unison.

"Congrats to you too."

However, while Oscar and Pearl were registering, Sophia hit a snag.

She never expected that her boyfriend, who had agreed to register with her, would be a no-show now!

Sophia was fuming. She called him, but no one answered. Just as she was steaming, Oscar and Pearl finished their registration and came out.

Seeing Sophia still alone, Pearl couldn't help but ask, "Why are you still here alone?"

Sophia felt a sudden sting in her eyes when she heard Pearl's question.

She had thought today would be a happy occasion, but her fiancé didn't show up! And she was caught by Pearl and Oscar!
