Chapter 96 My Daughter Has Never Done Such a Thing

Pearl came downstairs and saw journalists conducting interviews at the front gate.
With so many cameras pointing at them,Olivia and Isabelle were lamenting their ordeal.
Isabelle's eyes were swollen from crying, and she faced the camera, saying, "Thank you all for your concern. With you all here, I believe a fair outcome will be reached soon!"
"What fairness?" Pearl walked over with indifference. She didn't like their acting, so she asked directly, "Do you think I would be intimidated just because you cried in front of the public and tried to control me?"
They all turned to look at Pearl, but she remained fearless.
Olivia quickly realized and immediately started crying hysterically. She then pointed at Pearl and said, "Pearl, you have no conscience. I am your aunt, and yet you are so heartless. We've taken care of you since you were young, and never mistreated you. How can you treat us this way?"
"Pearl." Isabelle looked at her. "Has your conscience finally awoken? As long as you acknowledge me and my mother, we won't blame you. After all, we are family, and there is nothing that can't be forgiven."
The journalists saw Pearl and approached with their microphones, asking, "Ms. Harris, one is your cousin, and the other is your aunt. Is this true?"
Pearl faced the camera without fear and answered, "Yes."
There were more bullet comments.
[She admitted it, it seems to be true. And she's still so confident. Pearl is truly an ingrate!]
[One should not be ungrateful. Now that she has money, she abandons her relatives, especially her aunt who supported her education. Her education was in vain.]
[I'm getting angry just listening to this. I was also raised by my uncle and aunt, so I can totally understand. I could never do such shameless things like her!]
[Let's report her and get her fired from the Brown Group. Teach her a lesson!]
[Since we already know her location, let's go and throw paint on her!]
Pearl couldn't see the bullet comments, but she wanted to clarify one fact, so she spoke again, "They are my aunt and cousin, but they are both lying!"
Olivia retorted, "You're talking nonsense. I didn't lie. Did we treat you badly from childhood to adulthood? Your uncle doted on you the most. He was in trouble, but you didn't care about him! If it weren't for you blocking us, our family wouldn't be like this!"
They only knew how to find faults in others.
When they made mistakes, they didn't try to rectify them but instead blamed others for not fixing them.
"What have I done to obstruct anything?" Pearl stared at them. "It's you who owe money and don't have the ability to repay. You came running to me, but I didn't give in. So you started causing trouble, using all sorts of tactics. Just because you say a few words, you think it's the truth? Everything must be backed up with evidence. If it's slander, you will be held legally responsible."

Her gaze turned toward the journalist. "You shouldn't be a novice. You understand this principle, right?"

She addressed her words to bothOlivia and the journalist.

"Don't believe rumors. The impact caused by their reporting, disregarding the facts, allows me to sue them now!"

The journalist's expression changed, as she also didn't want trouble. So she smiled and said, "Of course, we are journalists who emphasize facts. Everything is witnessed by netizens. Without that, we wouldn't report it casually."

"That's good then!" Pearl smiled. "The fact is, they are lying. I have parents who have always been good to me. They raised and supported me. How could I need someone else to pay for my education? Don't you think what they're saying is absurd?"

"Your family used to have a difficult situation, and it was us who helped you, right?"Olivia said. "Now that you're fine, your family doesn't care about ours anymore. If you just gave a little support, our family could improve. You don't want to, you don't treat our family like relatives!"

Isabelle added, "Yes, it's true. My parents struggled to scrape together money for my education."

In order to win, they casually made up stories, no longer caring about much else.

"Ingrate!"

"Shameless bitch!"

Suddenly, someone threw an egg at Pearl, and it landed in front of her.

Pearl looked over, and there were already more than a dozen people at the entrance, holding eggs and vegetable leaves.

They all started throwing them at her.

She quickly used her hands to shield herself.

The security guards rushed to intervene.

"Why are you stopping them? She's just an evil widow who breaks up other people's families! She's not a secretary, she's a mistress for others!"

Someone among those throwing eggs said.

Pearl realized that the situation seemed more serious than she had imagined. They were prepared.

Olivia came to find her, and now people were throwing things at her. It seemed like someone was orchestrating this.

She looked atOlivia, who appeared smug.Olivia wanted to see Pearl apologize and eventually succumb to the public opinion, obediently repaying her family.

The journalist didn't mind that the situation escalated. They asked again, "Ms. Harris, is what they're saying true? Have you been continuously acting as a mistress and breaking up multiple families?"

"She didn't do such a thing!"
