Chapter 561 Confessed to in Public

When they rolled up to the night market, it was like a human ocean. Oscar threw his arm around her and whispered, "How 'bout we change first? Don't want anyone getting any ideas."

Pearl snorted, "Seriously? You didn't think about the night market when you picked this dress? No way I'm changing. I look too good, and with all these people, I'm not wasting it."

Oscar just sighed and stuck close to her.

Pearl decided to let loose and have a blast.

She'd spot something tasty, take a bite, and hand the rest to Oscar. See a cool drink? Sip it and pass it to Oscar. Find something fun? Try it out, and if it got scary, she'd dive into Oscar's arms.

She was like the brightest star in the night sky, twinkling and catching everyone's eye.

Of course, that also drew some creeps.

While waiting for ice cream, someone bumped into Pearl, and her face soured.

Oscar noticed and asked, "What's up?"

"Someone grabbed my butt." Pearl scanned the crowd but couldn't spot the jerk, though she knew it happened.

Oscar's face darkened, and he dragged her to a nearby clothing store, saying, "Change your clothes, or we're outta here."

Pearl snapped, "Why are you being so harsh? It's not my fault."

"I know, but it bugs me. I'm pissed for you and for me," Oscar said.

Who could get Oscar's frustration? His girl got groped, and he couldn't do squat about it.

Feeling wronged, Pearl picked out the most boring outfit and went to change.

She didn't come out, thinking Oscar was mad, so she made him wait.

After a bit, no sign of Oscar.

Pearl felt even more wronged and went out to confront him, but he was gone.

She stomped her foot, changed back into her original clothes, and went looking for him.

People were everywhere, vendors shouting.

Pearl searched but couldn't find Oscar.

Just as she was about to head back alone, she heard Oscar's voice from a nearby alley. "Miss, excuse me, why are you blocking my way with those flowers? I'm not who you're looking for."

Oscar looked helpless, standing in front of a woman in a long dress.

From behind, she had a killer figure, just like Pearl.

The woman shyly said, "I think I fell for you at first sight. I know it's crazy; I feel it too. When we met around the corner, I felt something real, like true love."

Oscar frowned, wishing he'd thought of lines like that when he was chasing Pearl.

"Can you accept me? I want to be with you." The woman handed him a huge bouquet, bigger than the one on the hotel table.

Pearl clenched her fists, ready to make Oscar pay if he dared to accept.

The evening breeze carried the smell of BBQ from the night market.

Oscar smiled and said, "This is my wedding ring. My wife and I have a kid. If we weren't celebrating alone tonight, you'd meet him."

"Sir..."

"My wife's buying clothes up ahead. Wanna meet her?" Oscar pointed to the alley entrance and saw Pearl.

Pearl quickly ducked out of sight, hearing the woman say all dejected, "I can see you love your wife a lot. She's lucky. We ain't meant to be, so let's forget these flowers."

'Is that it? Not even gonna fight for it?' Pearl thought, but she was actually worried.

She was worried the woman would cling to Oscar. No guy could resist a woman throwing herself at him.

"Oscar, you're lucky," Pearl muttered.

Suddenly, someone blocked her way, and she looked up to meet Oscar's tender eyes.

"Didn't a woman come looking for you? Why don't you go keep her company, agree to be with her, and then..."

"Then I'll go," Oscar said, turning to leave.

Pearl grabbed him and said, "You dare."

Oscar took the chance to steal a kiss and chuckled, "I don't dare, and I won't. Having you and Christopher is all I need."

With that, Pearl beamed with joy.

This little drama made them forget the earlier mess, and they kept enjoying their way through the night market. Pearl yawned repeatedly.

It was getting late.

Oscar hailed a cab to take Pearl to the hotel. Yep, his plan was not to go home tonight.

Love holidays were always warmer and more romantic, with the young going wild and the old reminiscing.

Night passed, and morning came.

Pearl woke up groggy, her mind filled with last night's craziness. She shook her head to snap out of it.

She checked the time and realized she had missed taking Christopher to school.

Pearl quickly changed, not caring about the still-sleeping Oscar, and rushed downstairs.

However, Magdalen hugged her and whispered urgently, "I really need your help this time."

Pearl followed her gaze and saw someone by the window watching them. "What's going on?"

"Marvin Esposito. I met him at an event a few months ago, and he's been finding excuses to ask me out ever since. I didn't agree to meet him last night, and now this morning..."

Before Magdalen could finish, Marvin had already walked over.

He quickly sized up Pearl, frowning slightly. "Magdalen, is this the girlfriend you mentioned?"

Magdalen nodded, holding Pearl tightly. "What? Doesn't it look like it?"

Pearl felt bitter. Magdalen seemed desperate, even pretending to be a lesbian.

Wasn't she worried about her prospects for marriage in the future?"Hello, I'm Magdalen's suitor, Marvin Esposito. Magdalen said you two are a couple, but it doesn't look like it to me," Marvin greeted as he was testing the waters.

Pearl felt uneasy. How could she prove this? Marvin might not care about his reputation, but she did.

Suddenly, an idea hit her. Pearl blinked, tears welling up and falling steadily. "Sweetie, you said last night that you only loved me. Now you're meeting someone else first thing in the morning. Were you lying to me?"

"No, I would never lie to you." Magdalen was even more flustered. She had no experience in this area and didn't know how lesbians behaved.

Pearl stood in front of Magdalen, holding her face and making her look into her eyes. "Then swear to me that you only love me and that you'll cut ties with him. You can't see him again, not even for work, nothing..."

Before she could finish, she was already crying like a rain-soaked flower, and even Marvin, a grown man, felt a pang of sympathy.

Magdalen noticed this and turned to Marvin, saying seriously, "Mr. Esposito, as you can see, my girlfriend is very upset because of you. I think we shouldn't see each other anymore."
