"Don't be ridiculous, you're not gonna die," Pearl said, fighting back tears.
She knew that once she started crying, she wouldn't be able to stop.
RavenWing smiled gently, "Everything has its time. Everyone dies eventually. But I've lived long enough to find you, reconnect, care for your kids, and earn your forgiveness. I'm content."
"Alright, let's eat first and not talk about anything else," RavenWing said, worried that too much talk would bring tears.
"Okay."
Pearl controlled her emotions.
She had the two children stay close to RavenWing.
Louis and Jimena arrived the next day at noon. RavenWing knew immediately that Pearl had called them over.
RavenWing said, "You Eldorians are so busy, especially now during this critical development period. Why did you come here again? Didn't I tell you to take care of the necessary things first?"
Louis stepped forward, noticing RavenWing's poor complexion but refrained from mentioning it, "I know, but we missed you and Pearl. Jimena still wants a child, and the medical technology here in Willow Creek is better. Besides, you're still here in Willow Creek, right?"
Louis tried to lighten the mood.
