Chapter 395 Did he Contact You?

Pearl felt a bitter taste in her mouth and muttered, "Is this really what I wanted?"

Harold stayed quiet.

Oscar and Pearl had been through a lot, and Harold had seen it all.

Pearl had given everything to Oscar, and he had done the same for her.

Harold didn't know what to say.

Pearl got more upset, her smile turning bitter, "No, not at all!"

Her voice shook, and her mood darkened.

Harold was taken aback.

Oscar had given everything to Pearl.

Yet she said this wasn't what she wanted.

So what did she want?

Wasn't this Oscar's way of showing love?

But Harold didn't know that Pearl wanted Oscar's companionship, to face challenges together, not his constant absences.

Barbara looked at Pearl with concern.

She grabbed a tissue and gently wiped Pearl's tears, "Pearl, you need to rest. You can't cry or get emotional."

Harold felt bad too.

But this was Oscar's decision.

Oscar never shared his thoughts.

But Harold, having been by his side for years, knew he must have had something important to do.

Something dangerous.

So dangerous he couldn't let Pearl suffer.

Harold placed the documents on the bedside table, his voice rough.

"Ms. Harris, Mr. Brown told me to do this. I'm just following orders. Please keep these safe."

Harold felt bad too.

But these were Oscar's instructions, and he handed the divorce papers to Pearl.

Before he could finish, Pearl looked up with red eyes and asked, "Where's Jeffery?"

Oscar was gone, and she hadn't seen Jeffery for days.

Oscar had even prepared divorce papers. This wasn't normal; she needed answers.

Harold's lips moved slowly, "Ms. Harris, Jeffery has been in contact with Mr. Brown. Recently, Mr. Brown only asked me to handle the company's affairs."

Pearl said nothing, just stared at Harold.

Harold felt uneasy under her gaze, "Ms. Harris, I swear, I really don't know. Mr. Brown gave me many instructions before he left. I have to go now. Rest well, and call me if you need anything. I'll be going."

With that, Harold turned to leave.

As he reached the door, he couldn't hold back anymore, and his eyes welled up.

Pearl didn't even look at the documents.

Money and fame meant nothing to her; she only cared about Oscar!

Pearl wanted to lose it.

But she held back.

What good would it do to go crazy? Everything had already happened, and Oscar always kept things from her.

Even if she went crazy, Oscar wouldn't take her with him.

Pearl clenched her fists. Just as she was about to speak, Harold returned.

Barbara frowned, about to speak, but Harold spoke first, "Ms. Harris, you must rest and take care of your health. That's the most important thing right now."

"I won't let anything happen to her."

Barbara's voice was rough but firm.

She thought Harold had come back for something important.

Oscar had set everything up before he left. Not only did she have to follow his instructions, but she also had to take care of Pearl.

A few minutes later, Harold left for good. Pearl stayed silent, and Barbara didn't know what to say. The room was quiet.

Seeing Pearl like this, Barbara got worried, "Pearl, say something. You're scaring me."

"I'm fine."

Even though she was upset, she wasn't one to just cry and feel sorry for herself.

"How about we go for a walk, or should I call everyone over?" Barbara asked.

Pearl lay down, turning her back to Barbara, "I don't want to see anyone right now."

"Then rest well."

Barbara didn't want to disturb her further.

She sat on the small sofa in the room. She thought about leaving but reconsidered. What if Pearl did something drastic? How would she explain it?

Besides, given their relationship, she couldn't just stand by and watch Pearl do something drastic.

Barbara waited for over five hours before Pearl slowly sat up.

By then, it was already dark.

Pearl said, "I'm a bit hungry."

In those five hours, she had been in a state between sleep and wakefulness.

During that time, her life flashed through her mind, and she suddenly understood some things.

Since she couldn't remember the past, she wouldn't dwell on it. Forgetting had its reasons. She needed to live in the present and go to Eldorians!

As Barbara opened the small table and took out the food from the insulated box, Pearl spoke firmly, "Barbara, I want to go to Eldorians. I know what you're going to say. I want to learn self-defense from you. Can you teach me?"

Her poisoning was related to Eldorians, and Adrian was missing there. Now even Oscar had gone there.

This started because of her. How could she do nothing and let them protect her?

Barbara knew Pearl's character. Once she decided on something, she wouldn't easily change her mind.

Moreover, Barbara understood that if she didn't help Pearl, Pearl would find someone else.

Barbara had no choice, "First, you need to get better. I'll teach you everything."

"Okay."

Pearl nodded. In the following days, she was very calm. She took her medicine, ate, and rested on time.

The only extra thing she did was research the local environment, politics, and other aspects of Eldorians.

On the day she was discharged, Penelope, Eileen, and Janetta all came.

Even Harold brought two huge bouquets of roses, one red and one pink. These were her favorite colors, and it was clear this was Oscar's idea.

During this time, Oscar hadn't contacted her. He hadn't replied to her messages or answered her calls.

Adrian was still missing.

She held out hope for Adrian, but as for Oscar...

Pearl stared at Harold, "Did Oscar contact you, or did he instruct you to do this before he left?"

Barbara stood behind Pearl, her eyes dark and complicated.

She preferred to believe that Oscar had arranged everything before he left.
