Chapter 344 Don't You Feel Guilty?

"You should go see Oscar if you're worried," Eileen advised. "It's not for him, it's for your peace of mind. Knowing he's safe will help you relax."

Haley didn't sleep all night, worried about Oscar. She called Kevin, who assured her there was no danger, but she couldn't shake her anxiety.

By morning, she was exhausted but still on edge, jumping at every noise, hoping it was Oscar. But there was no news.

Haley was so anxious she couldn't even focus on the ratings of "Echoes of the Enchanted Realm." Yesterday, its ratings were good, and she knew "Glory" wasn't doing as well, which gave her some comfort. She was finally going to beat Pearl in both fame and love.

This was Haley's pride. She always had to be the best. But Oscar's safety was her main concern.

She lay on the couch, too tense to relax, when she heard a noise at the door. Thinking it was Oscar, she ran to open it, but it was Mae with breakfast.

Mae said, "Haley, here's your breakfast."

Haley, disappointed, said, "Just leave it there."

Mae set everything up and chatted, "Did you see today's trending topics? 'Glory's' viewership has increased!"

Haley sneered, "So what? Online shows always buy trending topics for exposure. No one will watch it in the end."

She mocked, "Pearl is naive, thinking she can make a hit by investing in a show. She'll just lose money. 'Glory' had no buzz at the start and won't have any later. 'Echoes of the Enchanted Realm' is bound to succeed. I see people discussing it online. I might win an award this year."

Mae brought her breakfast with a plate; seeing Haley's confidence, she didn't intend to say much originally. But she was so worried, she said, "The ratings for 'Glory' increased a lot. It's number one on the platform now."

"What?" Haley was shocked. "Wasn't its buzz low yesterday?"

Mae explained, "The initial marketing was weak, but those who watched it liked it, so the buzz increased today."

Haley, disbelieving, checked for herself and saw "Glory's" buzz was skyrocketing, several times higher in just 24 hours, and still growing, which made her feel uneasy.

She reassured herself, "What's so good about an online show? Our ratings are still ahead. 'Glory' can't compare to 'Echoes of the Enchanted Realm.' Their niche genre won't attract viewers."

Recent shows like "Echoes of the Enchanted Realm" had good ratings. Its high starting point meant slow growth was normal. "Glory" could never reach their level.

"I think so too," Mae agreed. "They can't compare to 'Echoes of the Enchanted Realm.' They're just trying to make money, even selling merchandise from the show. They must be desperate!"

Haley checked and saw their show's merchandise was selling well, with only pre-orders available.

"Do we have any?" Haley got anxious. "We should release our show's merchandise too!"

If they had it, she had to have it too.

She didn't want to give Pearl any chance. So, she scheduled her show's premiere on the same day as "Glory" to steal their ratings and make sure no one watched it.

'Didn't Pearl invest everything into this show? I want her to lose it all!' She couldn't let them off easy.

"I'll contact them right away," Mae said, making a call.

Haley was too anxious to stay calm. Not just Pearl, but Oscar was also on her mind.

"No, I have to go out," Haley said, unable to sit still.

Mae had just prepared her breakfast. "Haley, where are you going?"

"Oscar hasn't come back yet. I have to find him," Haley replied, quickly changing clothes.

"Aren't you going to eat?"

"I'm not hungry!"

After getting ready, Haley grabbed her bag and hurried out, asking the driver to take her to Oscar's place. She felt more at ease waiting there, hoping to see him first.

On the way, she saw a familiar new car, previously driven by Pearl. It was a gift from Oscar, but it wasn't included in their divorce agreement. Pearl only got a house and two million dollars, which was nothing compared to Oscar's assets. Haley saw it as charity and didn't say anything, but if Pearl took anything else, she had to speak up.

The car window on the driver's side was open, and she saw Pearl in the passenger seat, igniting her fighting spirit. The car was heading towards Oscar's villa.

'What does she think she's doing?' Haley couldn't hold back.

"Stop the car!" she ordered.

The driver stopped, and Haley saw Pearl scrolling through her phone. Pearl had refused Eileen's suggestion to visit Oscar, although she was worried, she had no place to do anything. So she planned to go out for a walk with Elieen instead, hoping news would come eventually.

As they waited at a red light, someone knocked heavily on the car window. Pearl looked up and saw Haley standing there, wearing sunglasses.

Pearl rolled down the window and stared at her. "What do you want?"

Haley took off her sunglasses, her face cold. "I remember Oscar gave you two million dollars and a house. This car wasn't included, right?"

Pearl felt Haley was being ridiculous. "What does that have to do with you?"

"Oscar is my boyfriend. What do you think it has to do with me?" Haley said.

"You're not even married. Legally, Oscar's money isn't yours. Mind your own business!"

Haley continued, "Don't you think you're being shameless?"

"Oscar bought the car and put it in my name, understand?" Pearl's face was cold. "This is my car, and you're disrupting traffic!"

"Are you going to see Oscar?" Haley asked.

"Where I go is none of your business!" Pearl shot back.

Haley's face was cold. "Pearl, stay away from Oscar who is my boyfriend. I won't warn you again."

Pearl didn't back down and laughed. "Don't you feel shameless saying that? You know what you did to me and how you got Oscar! You have no shame. I will get my revenge! Eileen, drive!"

The car sped off, splashing a puddle all over Haley. Her dress was soaked with muddy water, and she screamed in frustration.
