Chapter 690 Five Against One
"Who sent you?" Pearl asked, eyeing the five guys in front of her, sizing them up for a fight.
She figured she could take them.
If she could just get through this alley and head south for about 300 feet, she'd hit the police station. Even if she couldn't beat these guys, she'd be safe once she got there.
The men in black had no clue what Pearl was thinking. They just assumed she was scared and didn't dare to get out of the car.
Made sense. A delicate woman facing a bunch of big guys would be terrified, right? It was impressive she hadn't shown any fear.
As for her fighting back, the men in black didn't even consider it.
'The strength difference between men and women is huge, and with five against one, even if Pearl wanted to resist, could she?'
"Don't worry about who sent us. Get out of the car nicely, and we might go easy on you. Otherwise..." The leader of the men in black looked her up and down.
Even through the car window, it was clear Pearl had a great figure, not at all like a woman who'd had two kids.
It was already dark, and the road was deserted, just them. They could do whatever they wanted.
"Lonnie Caldwell, can we have some fun with her later?" one of the henchmen asked.
Lonnie laughed. "Sure, I'll go first. After I'm done, you guys can have your turn. Just leave her alive, don't forget the organization's orders. We need her alive to test the drugs."
Mentioning the organization made their faces more serious.
Pearl noticed this subtle change. It was clear the organization was not something to be taken lightly; fear of it ran deep.
And the mention of drug testing made Pearl think of Lila. They were probably from the same group.
Last time, they sent Lila to target Emily. This time, they were after her. Good thing she didn't drive home just now, or she would've led them straight to her house and regretted it deeply.
"Get out now! Do we have to come in and get you?" The man in black was getting impatient and knocked on the window. "Such a nice car must have the comfortable seats. If you beg us and serve us well, maybe we'll let you stay in the car."
Before he finished speaking, Pearl suddenly pushed the car door open, hitting one of the men in the nose and making it bleed.
Taking advantage of his scream, she quickly lifted her leg and kicked the guy next to him in the jaw. Caught off guard, he fell to the ground.
Two of the five men were down in an instant, leaving only three standing in front of Pearl.
Their attitudes changed immediately, and Lonnie's face turned dark. He gritted his teeth and threatened, "Pearl, you dare to hurt us? You asked for it. I was going to let you live, but since you don't know what's good for you, then..."
Pearl threw another punch. She didn't have time to mess around with these guys; she just wanted to deal with them quickly and get the KFC she just bought home.
Christopher must be starving after waiting for her so long.
Lonnie reacted fast, dodging to the side to avoid her punch.
He realized Pearl had some serious skills and wasn't just some delicate woman. He signaled to the other two henchmen, "Let's take her down together!"
Three against one should be easy, right?
Wrong.
Pearl grabbed Lonnie's arm, twisted it behind his back, and kicked him hard in the waist.
The intense pain, combined with Pearl's tight grip, made it impossible for him to straighten up. He could only keep threatening, "Let me go, or I'll inject you with the strongest drug, and you'll be begging without dignity."
Even in their organization, that drug was rarely used.
Pearl didn't care about his threats.
She didn't think that if she let them go and begged for peace, they'd become friends.
These guys were desperate, ordered to capture her for drug testing. She had to fight with everything she had to survive. If she stood there crying and begging, her fate would be worse than death.
Pearl spun around, releasing her grip and kicking Lonnie in the butt, sending him flying towards his henchman, Kurt Lowe.
Kurt was about to attack Pearl but didn't react in time and ended up punching Lonnie in the face.
"You idiot!" Lonnie was furious.
At a critical moment, he hit his own man.
He regretted bringing these four along. If he had different teammates, he would have captured Pearl by now instead of wasting so much time and getting punched in the face.
"Sorry, Lonnie, I didn't react in time. You can't blame me. Something suddenly came at me, and my instinct was to push it away," Kurt quickly explained.
The organization had a strict hierarchy. Even though Lonnie was just a small team leader, their lives were in his hands, which meant Lonnie could end their lives with a single word.
"Useless," Lonnie cursed.
But now wasn't the time to dwell on it. He had suffered significant humiliation in front of his men, and he was determined to make Pearl pay dearly for it. They attacked Pearl from both sides, while the other henchman, Otis Jenkins, was quietly circling behind her, clutching a heavy brick, and ready to bring it down on her head.
Just as he was about to throw the brick, Pearl kicked backward, hitting him right between the legs, the most vulnerable spot for a man.
With a clear sound, Otis's hand shook, and the brick fell on his foot, making him scream louder than anyone else.
Lonnie and Kurt were quickly dealt with as well.
The five men who had been so aggressive were now lying on the ground, looking pitiful and groaning in pain.
Pearl didn't let her guard down. She made sure to give a few extra hits to the two who weren't too badly injured, ensuring they couldn't get up again. Only then did she feel completely at ease and dusted off her hands.
