Chapter 495 I Won't Marry Anyone

Pearl's words cut Oscar deep, but he knew she was hurting even more.

"Pearl, calm down. I'll give you answers soon. Just hang in there a bit longer."

Oscar took a deep breath, trying to soothe her.

Pearl wasn't having it. "Oscar, I've waited five years. How much longer?"

Before he could reply, she shouted, "Do you want me to waste my whole life waiting? Where's my child?"

The line went dead; Oscar had hung up.

Pearl knew calling back was pointless. He'd either be offline, on another call, or just not answer.

Her emotions surged, and she clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.

Louis walked over, handed her a tissue, and patted her back.

"Pearl, I'll help you. No matter the obstacles, RavenWing and I will support you."

They were her strongest allies, even if she didn't acknowledge them.

Pearl shook her head. "I'll handle it myself."

She quickly wiped her tears. She knew crying wouldn't solve anything.

"How? Even with your connections, I'm right here. Why not ask for my help?"

Louis frowned and said softly, "Pearl, you know what I mean. Do you have to wait until RavenWing dies to forgive us?"

Her head throbbed, and her heart ached.

Family ties couldn't be severed. Ignoring RavenWing after his death would be cruel, but she couldn't forget or forgive yet.

"I'm leaving for Serenea today," Pearl said.

Louis knew he couldn't stop her. "I'll take you back. You faced danger getting here, and Kevin's men might retaliate."

"Okay," Pearl agreed.

RavenWing didn't show himself, but he watched her leave from a distance.

As she turned, she saw RavenWing smiling at her.

Since their encounter in the garden, they hadn't spoken. RavenWing hadn't appeared before her again.

From RavenWing's perspective, she understood them. Only a father could be so selflessly devoted to his daughter.

Pearl was struggling too. She couldn't let go.

The things RavenWing and Kevin had done, including what she had seen, replayed in her mind like movie scenes.

RavenWing waved goodbye without a word.

Louis saw this and, after a moment of silence, said to Pearl, "Do you still think he's a bad person?"

As his daughter, she knew RavenWing wasn't a bad person.

But Pearl couldn't accept his actions.

Thinking about it made her feel suffocated and gave her headaches.

So, she chose not to think about it.

"Can you stop talking about this? Louis, you've always been by his side. You know how ruthless he was."

"You can help homeless, injured kids. Why can't you see him as a child who made mistakes?" Louis interrupted her.

Pearl's throat tightened.

A few seconds later, she spoke hoarsely, "He killed so many, Louis. You ask me to see him as a child. How is that possible?"

She could never forget those gruesome, blood-soaked scenes.

Moreover, before Eldorians improved, RavenWing and Oscar were on opposite sides. And she was from Tranquiloria!

She leaned against the window, looking exhausted. "I'm a bit tired."

Pearl closed her eyes, and Christopher, who she was holding, remained silent.

Christopher was unusually quiet.

Recently, the war situation had been tense, and Serenea was preparing for a major battle.

Although Serenea now had Tranquiloria's help, Charles intended to marry his son to a princess from another country, and the primary candidate was his third child, the one he had just acknowledged, Oscar.

He now stood in front of Oscar.

Given his status, he couldn't appear anywhere in Eldorians, but Oscar was here.

Five years ago, Oscar almost died because of Pearl. Five years later, he couldn't let Oscar waver because of Pearl and ruin his plans.

"You've been hard to find lately," Charles spoke in a low voice, his brow furrowed deeply. His cold face revealed a sense of severity and sternness, and his features were strikingly similar to Oscar's.

Oscar replied indifferently, "But you still found me."

"Are you defying me?" Charles narrowed his eyes. He was high and mighty, not allowing anyone to defy him, especially Oscar, his most favored son!

Oscar pressed his lips together, remaining silent.

Back then, to save Pearl, Oscar made an equivalent exchange with him, and he still held heavy weapons and his "Zero" plan.

Until Charles was completely out of power, Oscar couldn't provoke him now.

"I can complete everything according to your expectations, but except for Pearl, I won't marry anyone else."
