Chapter 588 Studying Medicine

Oscar was just standing there when, suddenly, Pearl lunged at Cadence. She moved like lightning, grabbing Cadence by the neck.

Pearl said, "Whether we love Christopher or not ain't your business. But your future? That's up to us!"

She worked in showbiz with Christopher, mostly 'cause he loved acting and saw it as a fun hobby.

Cadence tried to fight back, but Pearl's grip was like iron.

Cadence yelled, "You think grabbing me will keep Christopher safe? That potion was custom-made!"

In this world, parents loved their kids.

Especially in a rich family like Christopher's, where the parents doted on their only child, which was why Cadence's plan was so detailed.

But Pearl and Oscar didn't even flinch.

Pearl kicked Cadence in the knee and then chopped her neck. "Shut up! Oscar, take her to Mist Haven!"

Oscar had been with Pearl for ages, but he'd never seen her this fierce.

Even if Pearl hadn't said it, Oscar would've done the same!

Cadence screamed and fought, but Oscar had someone gag her.

The hand Cadence used to hurt Christopher? Totally wrecked.

Since Cadence wanted Christopher to be a buddy for her kid, she might as well have spent her life in a crystal coffin herself! As for the potion in Christopher, with RavenWing's years of drug research, whipping up an antidote was a breeze.

During the antidote process, Christopher just slept and sweated a bit.

But Pearl realized something: she knew martial arts, so she could protect herself, but Christopher couldn't be with her all the time as he grew up.

Most importantly, without RavenWing, she'd be helpless against the potion.

For Christopher's sake, she decided to keep studying medicine.

RavenWing was all for it.

But then he suggested, "In Willow Creek, you're all busy, and things can slip under the radar. But if I take him to Eldorians, no one can touch him. Pearl, let me get to know Christopher."

Pearl looked at Christopher lying on the bed. His face was pale.

"How about we all stay in Willow Creek? Louis can keep an eye on Eldorians." After a long pause, Pearl made up her mind.

She'd missed five years of Christopher's life and didn't want to miss any more. She wanted to be there as he grew up.

Seeing her resolve, RavenWing sighed and nodded.

"Then we'll all stay. I'll inform Louis. And don't worry about your medical studies, I'll teach you everything I know," RavenWing said.

After RavenWing left the room, Pearl gently stroked Christopher's head, tears in her eyes.

Her kid was gonna grow up with her watching over him, and she wasn't leaving him again.

Oscar got it and walked over to hug her silently.

Kids bounce back fast, and in a few days, Christopher was back to his lively self.

Early in the morning, right after the doc left, Christopher jumped outta bed and started bugging RavenWing to get him outta there. RavenWing had no choice but to call Pearl for the green light and then handle the discharge papers.

As soon as they stepped outta the hospital, a bunch of reporters swarmed them.

One of 'em shoved a mic in Christopher's face and asked, "Christopher, did you really miss the variety show 'cause you were sick, or were you just faking it?"

Christopher had no clue how to respond and looked up at RavenWing.

RavenWing scooped Christopher up and faced the reporters with a smile, saying, "Christopher had a cold recently, so he missed the recording. I know everyone's eager to see him back on screen. Don't worry, now that he's better and outta the hospital, he'll rest for a couple of days and then join the show."

"A cold needs two days of rest? Who are you to Christopher?"

The reporter was relentless, clearly trying to stir up trouble.

Just as RavenWing was about to answer, Pearl showed up just in time and had the bodyguards hustle them into the car. She shot a glare at the reporters. "Which newspaper or TV station are you from? Our interview is over for today. That's it."

The reporter tried to make a quick getaway, but Pearl wasn't having it. With a nod, the bodyguards blocked their path.

Seeing this, the reporter started cursing and told the cameraman to go live.

Pearl smirked and walked over, whispering, "You probably don't know who Christopher's dad is. It's Oscar Brown."

The reporter's face went pale. Before she could react, her colleague reminded her that Oscar's not someone to mess with.

Pearl vaguely heard the name Floyd Ryan and remembered he was a child star, who supposed to be on the variety show with Christopher. But Christopher hadn't met him because of the whole incident.

They had no interaction, so why would Floyd send reporters to trash Christopher?

Pearl smiled and nodded to the bodyguards.

The bodyguards immediately shoved the reporters into a car, following Pearl's car until they reached the second intersection, where they split up and took the reporters straight to Floyd's agency.

Oscar was scoping out a spot for the lab when his phone buzzed with an unknown number.

He didn't wanna answer, but worried it might be about Pearl, he put it on speaker and said, "This is Oscar."

The caller actually knew who he was.

After a moment of silence, the caller said, trying to sound friendly, "Mr. Oscar Brown, my people were outta line and bothered Mrs. Brown and Mr. Christopher Brown. Could you do me a favor and let your bodyguards release them?"

"Who are you?" Oscar frowned, remembering Pearl had rushed over because something happened to Christopher.

Before the caller could respond, he continued, "Is my wife with you?"

"No, your two bodyguards brought them here. Here's the deal: Floyd and Christopher were recording the same show..."

The caller explained the whole situation, hoping Oscar would cut him some slack, since they'd probably be crossing paths a lot in the future.
