Chapter 276 The Shoot

Pearl snapped some photos of Eileen, who wasn't known for her looks, but she was a solid actress who helped many male co-stars become famous.

She was neither arrogant nor submissive, always relaxed, which Pearl admired.

As the runway show wrapped up, Pearl brought the photographer over.

Emma saw Eileen and screamed, "Eileen, I can't believe it's really you!"

Seeing Emma's excitement, Pearl asked, "Are you that thrilled?"

Emma replied, "Of course! I've watched all her shows. Is this real? I've met my idol! I love her so much!"

Eileen walked over. "Hi, I'm Eileen," she said, extending her hand.

Emma, in disbelief, shook her hand. "Am I dreaming?" She looked at Eileen again, almost in tears. "I've watched all your shows. I know your story. You came from a small place and worked hard in the industry. I'm your fan!"

Emma started to choke up.

Eileen quickly comforted her, "I get it. Don't cry. A girl's tears are precious."

She helped Emma wipe her tears.

At that moment, Emma knew she had chosen the right person to admire.

Eileen was approachable, more so than many other celebrities.

"Emma, let's focus on work. We need to make sure she looks great in the photos today."

Emma wiped her tears and said, "Alright, I'll get the job done."

They needed a location for the shoot, and with many celebrities around, they had to queue up. They had already booked a spot.

When they arrived, Emma was shocked. "What? There's no spot for us?"

"Sorry, it's been booked by someone else."

Emma was immediately upset. "What do you mean? We had an agreement. Now it's booked by someone else? How can you be so untrustworthy!"

It was their first time facing such a situation, and the breach of trust was infuriating.

The staff didn't want to explain further, "We're really sorry, but please leave."

They had chosen this spot because Eileen's regal outfit fit the medieval theme, and this was the only place with that vibe.

Generally, other celebrities wouldn't choose this spot.

It was the perfect time and place for Eileen's shoot, but now the staff said it was booked.

Pearl had planned a series of snowy palace photos.

"Pearl, should we find another place?" Eileen suggested.

Pearl wasn't one to give up easily. She had everything planned, and any changes would affect her performance. She approached the staff to negotiate, "Excuse me, I see no one inside. How can it be booked? Could you give us half an hour to shoot?"

"That's not possible," the staff refused outright.

Pearl could tell they were making things difficult on purpose. "Could you tell us who booked it? I'll pay double whatever they paid."

The staff hesitated, "It's not about the money."

"Don't bother. I booked this place." Suddenly, Haley appeared.

Pearl turned to see her dressed similarly to Eileen.

She was with three or four famous photographers.

Pearl remembered that Haley hadn't initially chosen this outfit.

Haley, no longer pretending, looked pleased with the situation. "I've borrowed this place. You won't be able to shoot here today."

Pearl looked at her, confused. "Is your ear better?"

Haley sneered, "Thanks for your concern. My ear is fine now."

Pearl retorted, "So you're not pretending to be innocent anymore."

"Whether I pretend or not, at least some people buy it," Haley shot back. "Including today's location, someone will pay for it."

She was still with the Oscar's company, and they had her back. Recently, there had been a lot of press releases to clear her name.

Pearl looked at her outfit. "Does copying others mean anything?"

Her words hit Haley's pride, but Haley didn't care. She wanted to win for once and smiled. "Pearl, you're not in the entertainment industry, so you don't know what the audience likes. Whoever is prettier gets more attention. Do you think you still need this location?"

She implied that Eileen wasn't as beautiful as she was.

However, Eileen's acting skills were far superior.

A truly talented person didn't rely on beauty.

Eileen stood there, indifferent, choosing not to argue.

She seemed uninterested in arguing with Haley.

Pearl also chose not to argue, knowing it was pointless. "If you like it so much, you can have it. Eileen doesn't need this location to become famous."

Seeing Pearl back down, Haley laughed. "Good that you understand, Pearl. I've won this round. I'll win in the future too. Be sensible, and don't challenge me."

As Pearl walked past her, she glanced back. "Do you think you've won?"

Their eyes met, and Haley's hatred was clear.

If it weren't for Pearl, she wouldn't have lost fans or her public image.

She wouldn't have lost Oscar.

But Haley wasn't in a hurry. Success required patience. She whispered in Pearl's ear, "Beating you is easy. Just wait and see. You'll lose everything."

Her gaze shifted to Pearl's belly.

She wanted to push Pearl down, causing her to miscarry.

But she restrained herself; she couldn't dirty her hands.

Then, they left.

Emma didn't understand and asked, "Pearl, why didn't we fight? They were clearly in the wrong!"

Pearl wanted them to understand that underhanded tactics wouldn't last. "Instead of fighting, let's prove ourselves with our skills."

She looked at Eileen. "I'll take you to a place."

They arrived at a dilapidated chapel nearby. Emma looked at the broken stained glass windows and said, "Aren't we being too hasty? It feels like we can't shoot anything here."

Eileen looked around and smiled. "I understand."

Emma was puzzled, "Understand what?"

Eileen held up the bouquet in her hands.

Pearl immediately took a side profile shot of her.

"Beautiful!" Pearl praised.

Pearl looked at Eileen through the lens. "Let's shoot some short videos. I think you're very beautiful, and a short video of you will surely go viral."

Eileen suggested, "How about using the makeup from a drama I did before? That year I became famous, and it's the most unforgettable role for the audience."

Even now, people still called her by the name of that role in real life.

"Sure." Pearl thought it was a good idea.

They completed the shoot in the broken chapel and also shot a short video.

With the internet, anything can be filmed, and attention doesn't have to come from traditional media. After shooting, they edited the footage.

Emma was moved to tears.

It stirred up her memories.

She remembered the ending of the character Eileen played, a role filled with profound emotions.

The character ended up depressed and didn't end up with the male lead.

Eileen had several scenes, looking cold and desperate, holding a withered bouquet, her eyes filled with melancholy, a tear falling, exuding a sense of brokenness.

She had already empathized, transported back to the era when the drama was most popular.

Emma finished editing the video and posted it.
