Chapter 631 Proposal

Jimena's eyes were all teary, and she couldn't even get the words out. She just stood on her tiptoes and planted a kiss on Louis's cheek.

Louis grinned and leaned in closer, "Just a cheek kiss?"

Jimena turned red. "There are people around."

Louis's eyes sparkled with mischief as he whispered, "Remember to be as bold as you were just now tonight."

"You're so annoying," Jimena's heart pounded, not sure how to reply.

Luckily, they reached the exam room, and there was no line. The doctor called Jimena in first.

About ten minutes later, Jimena came out with red eyes.

Louis rushed over, supporting her gently, "What's wrong?"

Jimena didn't say a word and handed him a piece of paper.

Louis thought something was wrong with her health and started comforting her.

Jimena's eyes filled up again, "Look at the test results first."

Then she started crying softly.

What she handed him was an ultrasound report, showing she was four weeks pregnant, and everything was normal.

Louis was so excited his hands shook. He wanted to hug Jimena tight but, thinking of the baby, he paused and then hugged her gently, kissing her hard.

"Louis," Jimena said shyly.

Louis cheered, "I'm gonna be a dad!"

He was over the moon. If there had been any issues with her getting pregnant, she wouldn't have known how to face him.

Jimena felt so grateful to be pregnant now.

"Let's go to tell Dad the good news," Louis said, holding her carefully as they got in the elevator.

When they got to Pearl's hospital room, Louis couldn't wait to show the ultrasound report. "Check this out."

Everyone was curious. Pearl, with her sharp eyes, saw it was an ultrasound report and nudged RavenWing to take a look.

RavenWing took it, looked at it over and over, and his hands started trembling.

"Pregnant? Really?" RavenWing was even happier than Louis.

Louis nodded. "Yep, Jimena's pregnant. We're gonna have a new family member."

Holding Jimena's hand, he shared his deep feelings.

RavenWing immediately said, "Don't worry about family stuff for now. I'll handle it. You just stay with Jimena and take good care of her."

Jimena was surprised and a bit embarrassed. "Dad, no need. I'm only a month pregnant; I can take care of myself."

RavenWing waved it off. "It's settled. I'll let everyone know, and we'll get some nutritional supplements ready."

It was clear how much RavenWing valued this baby.

Jimena was even more touched, wanting to say thank you, but the words got stuck in her throat.

Louis got it and, holding her, said to RavenWing, "Dad, we'll follow your lead. Thanks for handling everything."

RavenWing waved it off and happily went to sort out family matters.

Jimena now became the center of everyone's attention.

At first, she felt a bit awkward, but soon, seeing how everyone was so eager to take care of her, she accepted it with a smile.

Time flew by, and Emily turned one month old. Oscar threw a huge party, inviting all the big shots from Willow Creek's business and political circles.

All Brown Group employees got double pay and extra gifts that day, showing just how much Oscar valued Emily.

As night fell, the party kicked off. Guests started arriving one by one. Someone sidled up to Christopher and pointed over at Pearl and the others, saying, "Hey Christopher, now that your parents have Emily, they won't care about you anymore."

Before Christopher could even respond, the person kept going, "Look, they're all fawning over Emily and haven't even glanced your way."

This person was clearly trying to stir the pot.

Jimena walked over, pulling Christopher away and facing the person head-on. "Ma'am, Oscar and Pearl love both their kids. Please don't spread nonsense."

The person gave Jimena a once-over and sneered, "You're not his parent, so how would you know? Everyone knows they favor their daughter more. Was there such a big celebration when Christopher was born? I didn't see it."

Christopher smirked, "Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen. And you're not my parent either, so how do you know if they love me or not?"

Jimena gave him a discreet thumbs up.

The person wasn't ready to back down and tried to say more, but Christopher cut her off.

He raised his little head, his big eyes staring right at her. "I get it; your parents probably don't want you, which is why you think this way. I don't blame you. Since today is a happy day, have a few more drinks."

With that, Christopher took Jimena's hand and walked over to Pearl and Oscar.

Jimena quietly filled Pearl in on what had just happened, and Pearl was impressed by Christopher's response.

Christopher's way of handling things was a lot like Oscar's.

The music started, signaling it was time for the host's speech.

Christopher put down his drink and called out to Oscar, "Dad, can I do it?"

Pearl nudged Oscar, signaling him to let Christopher take the lead.

Oscar agreed and whispered to Christopher, "You're getting more and more impressive."

Christopher smiled, took the microphone, and walked onto the stage. "Hello, everyone. Today marks one month since Emily was born. First, thank you all for coming..."

The opening remarks were very official, and people started whispering about whether Oscar was grooming Christopher as his successor.

Christopher continued, "Just now, someone told me that my parents don't want me now that they have Emily. That's not true. Blood ties can't be erased. I want to say you don't need to worry about me. We all love Emily. She's so adorable, and I believe everyone will like her too."

Oscar frowned, wondering who had been spreading such nonsense.

Pearl patted him and whispered, "Christopher can handle this. Don't worry."

Oscar nodded, but he still kept Christopher's words in mind.

Whoever tried to mess with his kid would soon learn that Oscar was not someone to mess with.

Christopher called out loudly, "Today is a great day for Emily. As her brother, I want to dedicate a song to her."

With that, he signaled to the people below, and someone started playing music.

As the beautiful music played, Christopher began to sing.

When the song ended, everyone applauded enthusiastically.

Someone shouted, "Mr. Brown, on such a happy day, shouldn't we take a family photo?"

Oscar smiled and said, "You're right. Let's take a family photo. It won't take long."

Everyone laughed and teased, "Mr. Brown is granting all requests today. I wonder if he's as agreeable in business."

Oscar looked at Harold. "For business matters, please discuss with my assistant. Mr. Lewis, you know what to do, right?"

Harold smiled and raised his glass to toast everyone, "Today, on this joyous occasion, I have a proposal to make."

Before anyone could react, Harold took out a ring and knelt in front of Desiree. "Desiree, will you marry me?"
