Chapter 852 Good Fortune

Saskia had no choice but to agree.

Nathaniel slipped the ring onto her finger, the silver band fitting perfectly, snug around her finger.

Then she placed the matching ring on Nathaniel's finger.

It was only then that she noticed the design of the letters on Nathaniel's ring was different from hers.

The letters on her ring were raised.

On Nathaniel's ring, the letters were engraved on the inside, pressing into the skin. It might not hurt, but it was uncomfortable.

Saskia was stunned for a moment.

Nathaniel, noticing her distraction, gently pulled her up, subtly bringing her back to the present.

"Sorry, I spaced out for a second," Saskia whispered as she leaned in.

Nathaniel, linking arms with her, raised a toast to the guests below. "I noticed."

That's why he had reminded her.

Fortunately, her brief moment of distraction went unnoticed by most of the guests.

Except for a few observant ones.

Azalea sat alone at a table in the corner.

She leaned against the window, using the blind spot to hide herself. It worked; most people didn't notice her presence, including the newlyweds receiving congratulations.

Azalea was the only one who noticed Saskia's moment of surprise.

Even from a distance, Azalea could see the shock and disbelief in Saskia's eyes.

Because she knew Saskia too well.

But Azalea didn't need to guess. She knew what Saskia had seen. Before the wedding even started, Azalea was already aware of Nathaniel's little design on the rings.

"Saskia, you're really lucky," Azalea murmured, her eyes darkening as she watched the slender, beautiful figure.

There was no jealousy, just a hint of envy.

Azalea raised her glass towards Saskia from afar.

Only Azalea knew about this gesture.

Just after toasting Pearl and her husband, and receiving their wedding gift, Saskia felt something and looked around, as if searching for something.

Nathaniel frowned slightly and leaned in, lowering his voice, "What's wrong?"

Saskia looked around for a while but couldn't find the gaze that had caught her attention. She lowered her eyes in disappointment. "I don't know, but since a moment ago, I've had this strange feeling that someone is watching us."

These words could fit right into a horror movie.

Who would be staring at a newlywed couple?

But Saskia felt that whoever it was, they meant no harm.

After hearing her, Nathaniel straightened up, deep in thought.

He thought of someone.

Saskia suddenly looked up, clearly thinking the same thing as Nathaniel. "Do you think it could be Azalea? She said she would come."

Without waiting for his response, Saskia made a move to find her.

Nathaniel held her back, looking at the determined look in her eyes, and gently reminded her, "There are still so many guests here."

Saskia frowned, annoyed that she had forgotten.

"Don't worry, I'll notify Zachary outside to keep an eye out. We'll make sure you two meet," Nathaniel reassured her.

Saskia's expression softened a bit.

As long as she could see Azalea, she wasn't afraid of anything. She just feared Azalea might come and leave without a word.

Knowing Azalea was there relaxed her a lot. Hosting so many people with Nathaniel made her nervous, almost like a tightly wound bow.

But thinking that Azalea might be watching calmed her down, making her interactions with familiar faces much smoother.

Pearl watched as Saskia and Nathaniel alternated drinking and came up with an idea. "Hey, how about you two do a cross-cup drink? It's way more fun than just one person drinking. What do you think?"

Christopher, his mouth full of food, was the first to agree, "Yeah!"

Saskia looked helplessly at Pearl and Christopher. "Christopher, you've been totally corrupted by Pearl."

Pearl, holding Christopher and wiping his mouth, raised an eyebrow. "Corrupted? I'm just adding some fun to your wedding."

In the end, Saskia agreed.

She looked at Nathaniel beside her and picked up one of the glasses. "I'll drink this one."

Since the beginning, Nathaniel had been drinking more because Saskia couldn't handle alcohol well, and he didn't let her drink.

Nathaniel picked up the other glass.

Christopher watched them curiously.

Pearl covered his eyes. "Kids shouldn't watch this."

After the cross-cup drink, Saskia's face was flushed, looking like she had applied blush.

The crowd applauded.

Saskia's face turned even redder.

But her tolerance for alcohol was indeed low. Just one drink made her a bit dizzy.

The wedding was still ongoing, and they had only toasted half the guests. Saskia tried to hold herself together, hoping no one would notice.

But she couldn't hide it from Nathaniel.

He grabbed her wrist, frowning slightly. "You can't drink anymore."

Saskia tried to be stubborn. "I can still..."

Her words trailed off under Nathaniel's gaze, and she finally closed her mouth.

Nathaniel then ruthlessly cut off the rest of the toasting.

Oscar raised his glass, teasing, "Nice move. Everyone's waiting for you two, and you just stop. What about the rest of us?"

Nathaniel glanced at him, just as a waiter brought a bottle of wine. "A bottle of '82 Lafite, will that shut you up?"

Oscar smiled without saying anything.

He hadn't meant to make things difficult, just teasing as friends do.

Without the toasting, Saskia was the first to breathe a sigh of relief. But they still had to sit down for the meal. Her wedding dress had become stifling, and she wanted to loosen the collar for some air.

But she held back, considering her image.

Fortunately, Nathaniel came to her rescue. "You can go change now."

Saskia couldn't help but sigh in relief. "Great, I'll go change now."

She quickly followed Pearl.

Next door was a makeshift dressing room. Saskia changed her clothes, but Pearl got a call and said she'd be back to do her makeup.

Saskia had to wait in the room.

She didn't know how long she waited before the door opened.

Saskia thought it was Pearl. "You're back..."

Her words stopped abruptly as she saw who walked in. Her eyes widened, and the powder puff in her hand fell to the table.

Saskia stood up, stunned. "You're really alive."

Azalea looked at her in the red dress and smiled slightly. "That dress suits you."
