Chapter 526 Have No Plans to Get Married
Louis shot her a frosty look and snapped, "Do I really need to spell it out for you?"
Jimena felt a stab in her chest.
She had no ties with Louis, so he didn't owe her any explanations.
She was powerless.
Jimena's eyes welled up as she looked at him. "I know I have no right to ask, but I really want to be with you. If I could help you, wouldn't that be perfect?"
They could fake a marriage, and she could help him keep up appearances.
She was convinced that spending time together would eventually spark feelings.
A cold smirk played on Louis's lips. "You really think too highly of yourself."
Louis turned his back on her, not wanting to waste another second looking at her.
He treated Jimena like she was invisible, and she couldn't do anything about it.
In the end, she could only watch helplessly as he handled everything himself.
Then, Louis brought the porridge to Christopher, who looked weak and pale.
The moment he saw Louis, Christopher croaked, "Where's my mom?"
He asked slowly, his eyes brimming with hope.
For some reason, Louis felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Back then, he hadn't known Christopher was Pearl's kid; he even worried Christopher would be a burden to Pearl and thought about sending him away.
Now, all he felt was pain.
'Why does such a young kid have to go through so much?'
Louis scooped a spoonful of porridge and gently blew on it. "They're busy. I'll text them today, and you can call them tomorrow, okay?"
Christopher nodded.
Louis was very patient with Christopher, but Jimena was even more doting.
Jimena made a bunch of snacks and drinks for Christopher.
She was super gentle. "Christopher, these are all things you can eat. When you get better, I'll take you to see some animals, okay?"
Christopher nodded.
He could feel Jimena's kindness and gentleness.
Louis knew why Jimena was being so nice to Christopher.
After Christopher ate a small cake, Louis gave Jimena a look, and she followed him outside.
Louis glared at her coldly. "Don't think you can get close to me through Christopher."
"I just like Christopher. Can't I come to see him and be good to him?" Jimena cut him off before he could finish.
Sure, she wanted to use Christopher to change Louis's attitude towards her. But Louis's harsh words cut deep. He saw right through her and didn't hold back.
She had nowhere to put her efforts.
She could see the sharp, fierce look in Louis's eyes.
"You can be good to him, but do you have any relationship with him?"
Jimena had no ties with Christopher; her attention to him was clearly aimed at Louis.
Louis felt he hadn't been harsh enough, which was why Jimena kept clinging to him.
Jimena was silent for a moment, then quickly said, "Because he's Ms. Mitchell's son, your nephew. I have no other intentions. I know you're here, so I came to see him. Mainly, I came to see you."
Jimena's eyes were super sincere, even a bit sad.
She'd been into Louis for years, truly loving him but never getting him, which just tore her up inside.
Jimena thought that by laying it all out there, Louis might be moved by her actions.
And if she kept at it, she could win him over completely.
But she was way off.
Louis was as cold as ever.
His eyes were so icy, it looked like he wanted to rip her apart.
"If you don't back off, don't blame me for being ruthless."
Louis gritted his teeth in anger; at that moment, he really had murderous intent.
He hated anyone who chased him without knowing when to stop.
He wouldn't go easy on Jimena just because she was a woman; he'd already been as kind as he could be.
Jimena gave a bitter smile; she hadn't expected Louis to threaten her with death.
Just as she was about to say something, Louis turned around and left her behind.
Jimena watched him walk away, clenching her fists tightly.
'No! The more Louis wants me to give up, the more I can't give up.'
Over time, he'd see her true heart if she tried hard enough.
Meanwhile, Louis went back to Christopher after leaving Jimena.
Christopher saw him come back alone, his little eyes filled with confusion.
Even though he was young, he got it.
Jimena was nice to him, and she liked Louis.
But before Christopher could say anything, RavenWing spoke hoarsely, "Even a kid can see it; I don't believe you don't get it."
Louis stayed silent; he knew what RavenWing meant.
But he had no feelings for Jimena and didn't want to settle for someone he didn't love.
He spoke calmly, "What are you getting at? Do you want me to be with her?"
RavenWing said, "Who you like and who you choose to be with is totally up to you."
What he meant was he wouldn't interfere.
Louis sneered. "If that's the case, why are you telling me this? Are you trying to push me towards her, or are you trying to set me up with someone new?"
RavenWing pressed his lips together and said softly, "I thought about it, but you don't want to. I can't force you. I'm just saying you need to appreciate the people who are good to you."
Jimena was good; she truly loved Louis. Otherwise, how could she have found RavenWing and asked him for help?
Louis still spoke in a calm tone, "I have no plans to get married right now."
He wouldn't do anything he didn't want to do, nor would he compromise for anyone.
RavenWing was silent for a moment, then asked, "Why?"
As he spoke, RavenWing's sharp eyes looked at Louis, trying to find something in his gaze.
But RavenWing couldn't see anything off, so he gave up.
At that moment, Pearl and Oscar came back.
When Pearl saw the ailing Christopher, she felt super guilty.
She had missed five years with Christopher and hadn't taken good care of him.
Now that she was gone, Christopher had a fever.
Pearl's eyes stung; it was because she and Oscar weren't strong enough.
