Chapter 121 Do you like me?

"I told Arthur that Pearl bullied you and got you detained by the police. He was angry and went to find Pearl, but he shouldn't have kidnapped Pearl. Could it be as Pearl said, someone is manipulating behind the scenes. Just think about the woman who helped us, could it be her?"
Isabelle felt scared just thinking about it.
No one would help others without a reason.
If there's no purpose, would Arthur believe Isabelle's words?
"It's impossible, impossible." Olivia refused to believe this fact.
Isabelle said, "If someone else killed Arthur, what should we do?"
Isabelle didn't know what to do for a moment.
She thought, 'We can't let Arthur die in vain, the killer should be punished.'

Oscar's tall figure stood there. A car parked behind him. Seeing that Pearl was approaching, he asked, "Is it over?"
Pearl looked up at Oscar and answered, "It's over."
"They've all gone back. Why did you take so long?" Oscar saw that Pearl had come so late.
Pearl didn't hide it either, telling Oscar, "Just saw Seraphina and Hathaway, and we chatted for a while."
Oscar frowned, looking at Pearl, and said, "Seraphina and Hathaway came here?"
Pearl said, "They said they came for a vacation."
Oscar fell silent.
Pearl thought, ‘Should she tell Oscar about Pearl getting framed and Arthur kidnapping her?'
Maybe it would cause trouble for Oscar again.
Better not to trouble Oscar.
"Let's go back," Pearl said.
Pearl wanted to get in the car but saw Oscar didn't move. Instead, he turned back to look at Pearl. With one hand in his pocket, Oscar felt that Pearl was hiding something and asked, "Why did they come here for a vacation, and what did they tell you?"
Pearl shrugged, questioning, "What could Hathaway say to me?"
Oscar understood but questioned Pearl's reaction, "What about Seraphina being pregnant? Don't you have anything to ask me about?"
Pearl said, "You haven't been back these days."
"Yes."
Pearl either stayed in the hospital or at the company.
Since Pearl didn't return to The Brown family, Oscar hadn't gone back either.
He didn't care about Seraphina and Hathaway.
Pearl said expressionlessly, "Hathaway has taken Seraphina to take care of her, saying it's for Hathaway's grandson. Now they're out on a trip together, getting along well. The Brown Family will have descendants; Hathaway is delighted, waiting for the moment the child is born."
None of this was on Oscar's point. It was quite strange.
Oscar, with a serious face, said, "You haven't answered my question yet."
Pearl looked at Oscar, "Everyone knows. You wanted to find that woman before, and now she's pregnant. What else do you need to ask?"
Pearl did what she should do.
Oscar's eyes sharpened, staring at Pearl, and said, "The surveillance from that night is gone, no evidence that woman went to my room, suddenly a woman appears, gets pregnant, everything goes so smoothly?"
Pearl thought Oscar wouldn't suspect, but Oscar wasn't likely to be deceived.
Oscar got into the car, his face cold, eyes fixed ahead, and said, "I suspect the surveillance was gone. Someone did it on purpose!"
At his words, Pearl's body stiffened for a moment.
Oscar didn't believe that person was Seraphina at all.
It didn't feel right to Oscar.
Oscar's speculation made Pearl feel guilty.
"And you, Pearl."
Mentioned by Oscar, Pearl felt even more guilty.
Pearl looked at Oscar in astonishment, realizing Oscar's face was extremely cold, his eyes icy as he said, "You've been acting strange lately, are you afraid of me finding out?"
Pearl was a bit nervous, "What's wrong, what... what did you find out?"
Oscar said, "Since you started looking for a woman for me, I felt you were acting unusual, even hiding from me going to the hospital!"
Pearl avoided Oscar's gaze, saying, "My life is perfectly normal, you're overthinking."
"Then tell me the reason, give me a convincing explanation!" Oscar always felt Pearl was strange as if she was hiding a secret he had not discovered yet.
He couldn't figure out what Pearl's secret was for now.
He could only wait for Pearl to say it herself.
Pearl crossed her hands, easing her tension, and said calmly, "Oscar, have you noticed you've been acting strange?"
"Me acting strange?"
Oscar had such a reasoning.
Pearl's words were a bit hard to believe.
"What' wrong with me?"
Pearl said, "Your recent attention has been focused on me."
At this, Oscar pursed his lips slightly.
"Some of my actions in life make you feel strange, maybe you're just too sensitive."
Pearl shifted the focus to Oscar, changing the subject.
Pearl continued, "Why are you becoming so sensitive? You never used to be like this. You never cared whether I went to the hospital, including the small habits in my life. You would not care. You're paying more attention to me now. Have you not noticed you're becoming more interested in me?"
Pearl looked at Oscar seriously and said, "Do you like me?"
At this, Oscar's expression changed, his face turning serious, and he said coldly, "Pearl, you've crossed the line."
Pearl also calmly shifted her gaze, and she expected Oscar would give her that answer.
She used to hope for it, but now she didn't have such a strong desire.
All she wanted was to divert Oscar's attention from her.
In the end, Pearl wanted to leave a bit of dignity for both of them.
"I know I can't cross the line."
Pearl's tone was very calm as she said slowly, "You said this on the day of your wedding; you told me to recognize my identity, not to think that marrying you makes me be your wife. I can't do anything out of line, if I did, I'll know you'll punish me by any means."
With that, Pearl's thoughts only grew heavier, as if she had exhausted all her strength, "I've always remembered, not to do anything out of line!"
Even if Pearl was pregnant with Oscar's child, she didn’t dare to inform Oscar.
Pearl was afraid she couldn't bear the means Oscar mentioned.
"Good to know!"
Oscar's tone was indifferent, unwilling to dwell on what Pearl had said.
He hadn't really considered it.
As the car stopped, Pearl opened the door and got out without hesitation.
Before Pearl got out of the car, Oscar's eyes were fixed on her back, pondering for a moment, and said, "You've been working hard by my side all these years."
Pearl stopped in her tracks, turned to look at Oscar, and curiously asked, "Oscar, do you know how long we've known each other?"
Without hesitation, Oscar replied, "Seven years."
Oscar had known Pearl for seven years.
And Pearl had known Oscar for thirteen years.
Pearl smiled briefly and responded to Oscar, "It's good that you know."
