Chapter 11 The Mystery of a Two Hundred Thousand Dollar Expenditure

He tore her dress in an instant, pinning her down, kissing her violently, his tongue invading her mouth. The room was filled with the sounds of the bed shaking and their bodies colliding.

Early in the morning, feeling physically and mentally exhausted, Pearl returned to the Brown Group, Oscar's words from last night still echoing in her mind: 'How dare you say that? Only I can say that.' As she stepped into the CEO's office, she saw Quincy Lee sitting on the couch, chatting with Oscar. She forced a smile and greeted Quincy, "Mr. Lee, good morning."

Quincy stood up and greeted her, "Ms. Harris, long time no see." As Pearl left the room, he turned to Oscar and asked, "Oscar, did you call me here for a check-up? I brought my portable equipment; I can give you a quick exam."

Oscar waved his hand. "No need, I'm fine." He frowned, clearly preoccupied with something.

Seeing Quincy's puzzled look, Oscar snapped, "I asked you to check on Pearl, not me. Why are you looking at me?"

Quincy gave an awkward laugh. "It's nothing. Pearl just seemed upset."

"Did you have an argument with her?"

"She's just throwing a tantrum."

Oscar's face darkened, his sharp gaze fixed on Quincy. "If she's upset, forget it. You can leave; I don't need you here."

Quincy swallowed nervously and boldly said, "Actually, Pearl did ask me to check on you."

As Quincy moved closer with his medical kit, Oscar barked, "Get out!"

After work, Pearl returned to the Brown family home to pack up some personal items and clothes.

Just as she walked in, Hathaway stormed down the stairs, her face livid. She turned to Oscar, who had arrived a few minutes earlier, and demanded, "Did Pearl just charge two hundred thousand dollar on the card? What's going on?"

Before Oscar could respond, Hathaway had already dialed Pearl's number. When she saw Pearl standing behind her, she interrogated, "Did you go on a shopping spree? What did you buy for two hundred thousand dollars?"

Pearl was stunned by the accusation.

She had no idea what was happening, let alone when she had spent two hundred thousand dollars. She knew Hathaway never liked her, but she didn't expect her to be so unreasonable.

Just as Pearl was about to explain, Oscar's voice cut in. "Mom, that money was spent by Haley, not Pearl."

Pearl felt a mix of emotions at Oscar's explanation. She couldn't believe Haley was still spending Oscar's money, and Hathaway immediately blamed her. Taking a deep breath, she shot them a cold look and headed upstairs.

Hathaway, even more infuriated by Pearl's glare, shouted in the living room, "Look at her! This is the woman you married, showing no respect! You must divorce her and let Haley be your wife!"

Oscar frowned. "Mom, don't say that. Pearl is a good girl. She works hard and never spends money recklessly."

Hathaway scoffed. "Do you say she is a good girl? How dare she look at me like that? Haley is so much better, and she is a famous star. Alfonso should never have stopped you two from being together."

Hathaway continued to rant about Pearl's faults. Feeling exhausted, Oscar said, "Mom, things aren't the way you think. Pearl is very frugal and never wastes money."

Hathaway persisted. "Then why doesn't she talk to me? That's disrespect! You must divorce her!"

Oscar sighed. "Mom, Pearl and I have a good relationship. We're not getting a divorce. Please, Please stop bringing this up."

At that moment, Pearl went downstairs to pour some water. Her face was calm, but her eyes showed determination. She then walked straight to the bedroom upstairs to pack her things.

Seeing this, Oscar quickly followed her, "Pearl, what are you doing?"

Pearl ignored him.

Pearl didn't have much luggage, so it didn't take long before she was standing in the Brown family's living room, bags in hand. Her eyes were set as she headed for the door. Hathaway stood nearby, making no move to stop her.

Oscar rushed over to Pearl, grabbing her wrist. "Pearl, where are you going? Why are you moving out?"

Pearl yanked her hand away, her voice icy. "Let go of me. I'm going back to my home."
