Chapter 371 Frenzy
Donald's death hit the reputation here hard.
Victor's job as warden was now on the line.
"Mr. Brown, I messed up."
Oscar glared at Gabriel, clearly pissed. He couldn't hold back, his eyes went red, and he kicked him hard.
Gabriel hit the ground, coughing non-stop, with two broken ribs.
Oscar wasn't done. With a sinister look, he yanked Gabriel up. "Did they send you?"
"My mission's done."
Gabriel smiled, treating the mission like a sacred duty, which he had finished, and he was ready for whatever came next.
"Was it Kevin or RavenWing? What are they hiding?" Oscar demanded.
"I don't know," Gabriel replied. "I was just supposed to kill him!"
Oscar's eyes filled with rage, and he punched Gabriel twice, hard.
Gabriel was a mess, spitting blood.
Even then, Oscar wasn't satisfied. Seeing the blood made him snap, and he kicked Gabriel again and again.
He was about to kill him.
"Oscar!"
His men quickly pulled him back. "Stop! You'll kill him!"
"Get out of my way!" Oscar shoved them aside, eyes blood-red, like a madman, who was insane and thirsty for blood.
Oscar's strength was terrifying.
They felt like he was stronger than ever.
Two guys couldn't hold him down.
Victor, scared stiff, backed away, not wanting to get caught up.
"Quick, hold him down!"
Five guys finally managed to restrain Oscar.
"Oscar, calm down. There's got to be another way!"
They tried to talk him down.
They got why Oscar was desperate.
But every punch was pushing Gabriel closer to death.
And Oscar would face serious consequences for killing him.
It wasn't worth it.
Five guys held Oscar down, saving Gabriel's life.
Oscar, from his initial rage, slowly calmed down, his eyes returning to normal.
With Donald dead, they were back to square one.
The situation was tough again.
Oscar sat down, frowning, deep in thought.
They sent all the guards away, including Victor.
Victor didn't waste any time getting out, not wanting to get punched by Oscar, whose rage was too much for anyone to handle!
Victor had heard stories about Oscar from the special forces, and now he saw it firsthand. Oscar wouldn't stop until someone was half-dead!
Only Oscar and his men were left.
"Oscar, Donald's dead. We need to look for clues from the Eldorians," Nicholas said.
Since Pearl's poisoning, they had tried everything.
Even though Donald was dead and Kevin's fate was unknown, their people were already on the Eldorians' trail.
They were all hunting for RavenWing.
Abroad wasn't entirely safe, especially in the Eldorians' triangular region, which was always in the spotlight and often in conflict.
The locals had tough lives.
There were many such places, too many unsafe spots abroad. Peace was only found at home.
Oscar said, "If you get even the slightest clue, tell me right away!"
"Got it, Oscar."
Oscar was anxious, and so were they.
With Donald dead, he had to find another way.
When Pearl woke up, she was unharmed and found herself in a hospital ward.
She remembered everything. She got the antidote, but it was a false hope.
She had expected this outcome.
RavenWing's poison wasn't easy to cure.
Pearl still felt some effects, her head aching a bit.
"Pearl."
She looked up to see Penelope, Eileen, and Janetta. Surprised, she smiled, "Why are you all here?"
"We couldn't reach you by phone and got worried. Mr. Brown finally told us you were in the hospital, so we came to see you. Are you okay?" Janetta said.
Janetta knew Pearl best. If she couldn't reach Pearl, she'd call Oscar.
Only Janetta knew Pearl's situation.
"Just a minor issue. I'm fine now." Pearl got out of bed. "Have a seat, everyone."
Penelope asked, "Have you been overworking? Why are you in the hospital? You need to be careful since you're pregnant!"
Eileen, who had just finished work, joined them and curiously asked, "Have you and Mr. Brown made up?"
Janetta knew the situation but didn't discuss Pearl's private matters with others.
Even with friends, she wouldn't interfere.
To avoid worrying them, Pearl said, "Maybe."
Eileen smiled, "That's good."
Penelope, peeling fruit, complained, "How did you reconcile? I don't care how, but he sided with Haley that day. He should suffer a bit. I'm afraid you'll be deceived. Why should he get what he wants and discard what he doesn't? It doesn't make sense. I don't think he suffered enough!"
Each of them had different views on Oscar.
Janetta saw things most clearly.
Next was Eileen.
They didn't mention Oscar's faults because they didn't know everything.
But seeing Oscar and Pearl reconcile, they had to say something.
"Penelope, I know, but my relationship with him is more complicated than you think. You only see one side; there's another side." Pearl couldn't explain it all at once, but in Penelope's eyes, Oscar's image was already tarnished.
Janetta quickly changed the subject. "Let's talk about something happy, Pearl. Look, I bought baby clothes. What do you think?"
Pearl's eyes lit up when she saw the baby clothes in Janetta's hands. "Oh, they're so cute. You actually bought them."
She brought Janetta over and took the baby clothes from her.
Such a small piece.
She found it particularly beautiful.
"Not just Janetta, I bought baby shoes, and Eileen bought some pacifiers." Penelope also changed the topic, taking out what they bought. "I have to say, baby stuff is so cute. I want to have one myself!"
Pearl's eyes were full of tenderness. "Then you need to find a boyfriend quickly."
