Chapter 156 The Art of Dressing
The man kept smiling, his voice still so gentle. "You mentioned it, and I just happened to bring you something along the way."
Janetta's face didn't look good. She sneered. "So something you said along the way is flowers?"
"Yes."
The man did not deny it.
Janetta's voice was so cold. "I'm not interested. If you bother me again, I'm sorry, but I'll have to call the police!"
Pearl was stunned.
Pearl didn't expect Janetta to be so cold towards this man.
And the man didn't look bad in terms of appearance and demeanor.
The man wasn't angry either. "Well, I already bought these flowers. Beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman. I came all the way here, why don't you just accept them?"
"There's a trash can to the left, thank you."
Janetta didn't even look at the man.
Then, the next second, Janetta rolled up the car window.
The man stood there for a few seconds, holding the flowers, and left.
Pearl saw his back, looking somewhat desolate.
"Let's go home."
After a while, Janetta spoke.
Janetta unbuckled her seatbelt while talking to Pearl.
Pearl followed Janetta's pace and got out of the car with her.
Since Pearl was pregnant, Janetta took her to the supermarket downstairs to buy some things. Janetta mentioned, "I usually order takeout, but now that you're here, a pregnant woman shouldn't eat fried foods. My cooking skills are not good, and pregnant women shouldn't be around cooking smoke too much. I think I should hire a chef online."
Pearl was surprised by this term. "What do you mean by ordering a chef?"
"I can book a chef to come and cook for us two hours before mealtime. A meal can cost between $13 and $68, depending on the chef's skill level. Considering our current situation, I may need to place multiple orders a day."
Janetta said while looking at her phone.
"Isn't that just hiring someone to cook at specific times? One meal is fine, but if it's three meals a day, you might as well hire a servant. But I won't be staying with you for too long, so I'll do the cooking."
Pearl didn't want to trouble Janetta too much.
Janetta thought Pearl made a good point. If Pearl were to stay long-term, it would indeed be better to hire a servant.
Janetta didn't feel comfortable letting Pearl into the kitchen.
Janetta said seriously, "I can't let you into the kitchen. Anyway, I can place an order online. I'll start with two days."
Pearl was a bit surprised: "Are you ordering a servant online?"
"Everything can be done online now, you know. Some apps offer excellent services," Janetta said, surprised by Pearl's reaction. "Aren't you planning to divorce Oscar?"
Online services are incredibly advanced now.
But Pearl seemed like she had never seen it before.
Janetta shook her head. "Living with Oscar, you've been burdened by those documents and contracts, and your lifestyle is not like ours."
Despite everything, Pearl was still Mrs. Brown.
Oscar wouldn't be stingy with Pearl's living conditions.
Pearl pursed her lips, focusing on Janetta's last sentence.
"Can you even order a divorce service online?"
Janetta sighed. "We're in the age of the internet now. Can't you set up an online store? Your local lawyers might hesitate to take your divorce case, but that doesn't mean lawyers from other areas won't."
Pearl nodded. "That makes sense."
Janetta said, "Let's wait and see if Mr. Brown keeps his promise. If not, follow the steps I mentioned. Once you get the divorce, you can leave without any worries."
"Okay. We'll see when the time comes."
Oscar went to the Brown Group.
"Pearl, make me a cup of coffee."
After handling many documents, Oscar felt a bit tired and instinctively called out while rubbing his temples.
But the moment he spoke, Oscar realized the problem.
Pearl wasn't at the Brown Group; she was at Janetta's place.
The empty office had no sign of Pearl, yet Oscar subconsciously called for her!
But within a few seconds, Oscar smelled a rich aroma of coffee.
There was even a faint scent of roses.
"Mr. Brown, here's your favorite coffee."
A respectful voice sounded next to Oscar's ear, and he saw Sarah walking towards him with a cup of coffee.
Sarah was a bit taller than Pearl.
But she wasn't as fair as Pearl, her features weren't as outstanding as Pearl's. Even Sarah's dressing style was different from Pearl's.
Today, Sarah wasn't wearing a professional suit; she wore a dress with puffed long sleeves, cinched at the cuffs. The dress's front design beautifully accentuated her figure, showing off her collarbone. Her outfit displayed a touch of sophistication.
Oscar glanced at her and immediately turned cold. "Did I ask you to make coffee?" His tone was even colder.
Sarah maintained a good attitude. "Mr. Brown, I saw you working on documents for a long time and thought you might be tired. Besides, Pearl specifically mentioned that in such situations, I should prepare a cup of coffee for you."
At this point, Sarah brought up Pearl.
Sure enough, mentioning Pearl made Oscar hold back from saying more.
Sarah still stood in front of Oscar with the coffee. When Oscar didn't speak, she cautiously asked, "Mr. Brown, would you like the coffee?"
Oscar frowned, clearly impatient. "Take it away, and don't wear such clothes to work again."
"Yes."
Facing Oscar's cold and impatient words, Sarah didn't dare say much.
Two voices sounded simultaneously, and Oscar squinted to see Sarah falling to the ground, spilling the coffee everywhere.
Sarah said in a panic, "I'm sorry, Mr. Brown, I didn't mean to. I'll clean it up right away. Can I borrow your hairdryer?"
The CEO's office had a private lounge, and the lounge was fully equipped.
Oscar sneered. "What does cleaning up have to do with borrowing my hairdryer?"
Sarah lowered her head, speaking softly, I spilled coffee on my clothes by accident. It wouldn't be ideal to ask for leave to go home and change. I thought about washing it with clean water and then drying it with a hair dryer."
Sarah's explanation was reasonable, and her words had no issues.
If it weren't for the previous incident, Oscar might have allowed her to go home and change. However, based on Sarah's explanation, Oscar understood her intentions.
Oscar stood up and walked over to Sarah, looking down at her.
Sarah quickly got up from the floor.
But the next second, Sarah stumbled and fell towards Oscar.
