Chapter 168 A Perfect Match

Aurora walked straight towards Pearl.

At this moment, Aurora had a smile on her face.

Compared to yesterday, Aurora's attitude had improved significantly.

Pearl could only smile and respond, "It's okay, Lily Mitchell, come over and greet our partner."

Oscar asked Lily to meet with the head of the Johnson Group. Despite Aurora's change in attitude, Pearl still needed to introduce Lily to Aurora.

Despite feeling unhappy inside, Aurora maintained her composure outwardly.

"Pearl, have you trained any new employees recently?"

First, there was Sarah, and now there was Lily.

Oscar, however, had not shown up at all.

This made Aurora very dissatisfied, but she couldn't lose her temper.

She could only slowly start a conversation with Pearl.

Pearl replied, "Miss Johnson, are you worried about delaying the collaboration? Rest assured, Mr. Brown personally reviews all collaborations."

Aurora pursed her lips. "Then let's discuss it at the Brown Group. What is your opinion on the cooperation proposal?"

After Pearl left, Aurora found out that Pearl had been Oscar's secretary for seven years.

Aurora wanted to use Pearl as a guide to meet Oscar, but Pearl came over first today.

Pearl smiled and said, "There is something questionable about the collaboration plan. What does it mean to return 20% daily after 15 days of signing the contract?"

Sarah was only responsible for meeting the head of the Johnson Group that day. She didn't mention the contract to Pearl.

However, today Pearl brought Lily over, and Pearl had seen the contract.

Now that Aurora had asked, Pearl had to explain the situation.

Aurora smiled. "Because this is our first collaboration. Besides, Pearl, didn't you read the contract carefully? The third-to-last clause states that the full amount will be paid within a month."

Pearl's smile remained unchanged, and in the gentlest tone, she said the most direct words, "Miss Johnson, collaborations don't work like this. Normally, there's an initial deposit on the first day of contract signing, followed by scheduled payments. Your collaboration plan has issues."

Aurora's face changed, and she said coldly, "Oscar didn't say there were any issues. What are you, a secretary, talking about here? Tell Oscar that I want to see him now!"

Aurora arrogantly scolded.

Oscar assigned Sarah and Lily to work with the Johnson Group, showing that he valued the collaboration.

Pearl called Oscar as Aurora instructed.

Oscar's tone was extremely cold "What is the matter?"

"The head of the Johnson Group, Miss Johnson, is on her way to the Brown Group. Her collaboration plan has issues." Pearl explained the issues she found to Oscar.

Oscar was currently at the Brown Group, but he didn't respond to Pearl.

Pearl didn't mind.

Pearl took a shorter route and arrived at the Brown Group before Aurora.

Pearl left Lily at the reception and then returned to the CEO's office.

Oscar didn't respond to Pearl's words, but Pearl was sure Oscar had listened.

Until Oscar officially dismissed Pearl, she would do her job well.

As Lily escorted Aurora up, Pearl prepared coffee to entertain her.

However, when she handed the coffee to Aurora, it spilled all over Aurora's hand.

Aurora immediately let out a piercing scream.

At the same time, she accused Pearl, "Pearl, the collaboration proposal was agreed upon by both parties. If Mr. Brown is not satisfied after reviewing it, he can say so. But you, a secretary, brought it up, and when I refuted you, you held a grudge against me?"

Pearl hadn't expected Aurora would fail to hold the cup.

"Miss Johnson, you have misunderstood. I don't hold any grudge. It's because you didn't hold it yourself," Pearl said calmly.

Pearl met Aurora's gaze, her eyes also cold.

"I didn't hold it! Are you saying I can't even hold a cup of coffee? Mr. Brown, I approached you with the utmost sincerity for collaboration, and your secretary is acting so arrogant?"

Aurora asked two questions in a row.

In the last sentence, Aurora directly looked at Oscar.

Oscar stood not far away, his gaze cold with a hint of disdain. "Should I let Miss Johnson review the surveillance footage?"

Oscar knew Pearl very well.

If refuted, Pearl wouldn't care at all.

Until she officially left her job, Pearl wouldn't treat her work casually and would do her job well.

Aurora's actions were clearly an attempt to frame Pearl.

Sure enough, after Oscar's words, Aurora's face turned somewhat embarrassed.

Just a secretary, and Oscar defended her like this?

Aurora's expression turned cold. "Mr. Brown, I understand you want to defend your people. But this coffee was indeed spilled on my hand. If it were someone from your side, how would you feel?"

about I get a professional to assess it?"

Pearl calmly stated, "If it was my fault for not holding it steady, I wouldn't blame anyone. I wouldn't have the courage to speak up. If Miss Johnson insists it's my fault, how about having someone professional to assess the situation?"

Since it wasn't Pearl's fault, she wouldn't admit to it.

If word got out that Aurora from the Johnson Group needed a professional to assess such a minor issue, it would be a blow to her dignity.

Aurora could only suppress her anger. "No need for an assessment. My hand is scalded like this, and I'm upset. Besides, we had a conflict before.."

In any case, Aurora maintained a certain posture; it wasn't her fault.

Pearl didn't want to argue with Aurora any further. "I understand your feelings, Miss Johnson. But let's be clear,, we are partners. As the secretary of your partner company, I can distinguish the importance of certain matters."

Pearl also mentioned Aurora's injury. "Miss Johnson, as a guest here, I feel deeply sorry for your current situation. I'll get you some ice and make an appointment with the best dermatologist in the city."

"No need, just get me some ice."

Aurora suppressed her anger, her face already extremely unpleasant.

Neither Aurora nor Pearl noticed the smile on Oscar's lips.

Free ice could be provided, and an appointment with a dermatologist could be made, but spending Pearl's money? No way!

As soon as Pearl left, Aurora looked at Oscar.

Oscar noticed Aurora's gaze and immediately restrained his smile.

"Pearl has been with me for seven years; she has the authority to make decisions. Miss Johnson, if you want to discuss collaboration with me, but now you have a misunderstanding with my secretary, it won't be good for future collaborations if there's already a rift."

Oscar spoke slowly, word by word, making his message clear to Aurora

In other words, if Aurora wanted to continue the collaboration, she would have to apologize to Pearl?
