Chapter 1004 Jasmine Was Now My Girlfriend
Nora looked surprised. "Who did you treat? How come I didn't know?"
She only knew Billy as a money-minded guy and a good cook since they were kids. She had no idea he could do treatments.
Billy said,"In our old village, I treated dogs."
Nora was speechless. 'Poor dogs, they are Billy's test subjects! It is a miracle they survive!'
As Nora sighed, she heard a low growl. "What are you two doing?"
Nora turned and saw James holding Jasmine, gently fixing her hair. What was going on? Their relationship had moved fast.
"Since everyone is here, I want to make an announcement. From today, Jasmine is my girlfriend, and I'm taking her away." James scanned the room, his gaze lingering on Hugo.
Hugo's face changed dramatically. "Jasmine is your girlfriend? Jasmine, do you want to be his girlfriend?"
Jasmine lowered her eyes, avoiding his gaze. James held her tighter. "Hugo, what do you mean? Does she need your permission to date? Are you her parents?"
Hugo was at a loss for words and angrily said, "Don't play dumb. You know what she means to me, don't you?"
James glanced at Aisha, who was coming down the stairs, and sneered. "Oh, you mean Jasmine is your mistress, right? So, you want both Aisha and Jasmine? Aisha, do you still want kids with a man like Hugo who cheats?"
Aisha's smile faded as she heard this. She looked at Hugo and snapped, "Hugo, are you really keeping a mistress? If so, let's get a divorce. You can have kids with whoever you want."
"That's not true." Hugo quickly went over to support Aisha, vehemently denying it. Seeing James' provocative look, his anger surged. "James, are you trying to stir things up again? I've made concessions."
"Why are you so agitated? Because I took your mistress?" Aisha shook off Hugo's hand. "Hugo, I've ignored a lot. Now that it's out, what do you plan to do with Jasmine? Do you really want to keep her as a mistress in our home?"
Hugo's eyes flickered. "Of course not. I only kept her here because Millie likes her." He had his reasons but couldn't admit them now.
"Alright, I want to take Jasmine away now. Any objections?" James interjected.
Hugo was livid, his eyes burning with anger as he looked at James. This James, he had let him stay out of kindness, but it was like inviting a wolf in. James had taken his mistress, Jasmine, away. And he had to swallow this loss!
"Why aren't you saying anything?" James looked at Hugo's colorful expression and continued, "I don't need your permission to take Jasmine, but we're all adults. I want to give Jasmine a clean break from her past with you."
"So, I'll ask again, any objections to me taking Jasmine? I assume you and Aisha are in harmony now and won't still consider Jasmine your possession, right?"
James used a retreating tactic to provoke Hugo. In front of Aisha, Hugo couldn't object.
Hugo's face turned pale, and he gritted out, "Of course, I have no objections."
James smirked. "Hugo, remember what you said today. Don't go back on your word and use Jasmine's vulnerabilities to threaten her or cause trouble. Can you do that?"
Hugo glared at James, eyes full of anger. James pressed for a promise. "Give me a clear answer!"
With Aisha and Nora watching, Hugo had to swallow his anger. "Why are you asking? Are you deaf? I said I have no objections. I'm not someone who goes back on their word."
James didn't care about his attitude and nodded in satisfaction. "Alright, Jasmine, did you hear that? You don't have to be afraid anymore. Everyone here can testify. If anything happens to you or your parents, we'll consider if Hugo is behind it!"
Jasmine felt a weight lifted off her shoulders and gave James a gentle smile.
Hugo's face alternated between pale and flushed. He could no longer control his anger. "James, get out of here, right now!"
"Getting desperate?" James sneered. "Don't worry, I've been wanting to leave. I'll take Jasmine now, and I'll come back tonight to take Millie."
Hearing this, Hugo's face darkened. "I'm Millie's uncle; you have no right to take her."
James taking Jasmine away was a painful loss he had to endure. After all, Jasmine was just a mistress. But Millie was different. Millie was someone he had gone through great lengths to find; how could he let James take her?
"Hugo, I won't argue about whether I have the right to take Millie. Let's respect Millie's wishes. She can go with whoever she wants." James now had the upper hand with Jasmine. Naturally, he was confident of victory.
"James, you can take Jasmine, but don't even think about taking Millie. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to settle all scores!" Hugo said.
James sneered. "You want to settle scores? Fine, I'll be ready!"
The atmosphere was tense. Aaron, who had been watching coldly, stepped in to mediate, "Both of you, calm down and listen to me."
James and Hugo looked at him, their faces dark and cold.
Aaron said, "Hugo, Millie is a Hchilia, so it's understandable that you want her to stay here. But Millie's mother entrusted James to take care of her, which is also an undeniable fact. So, it doesn't matter where Millie lives, as long as she can grow up safe and healthy."
"But you heard Millie last night. Not everyone here welcomes her. If Millie continues to live here, can you guarantee she won't be harmed physically or mentally?"
Hearing this, Hugo knew he was in the wrong. "I said I would talk to my people and warn them. I won't let Millie get hurt."
James sneered, "You will warn them? Hugo, you've been through a lot in the business world. People are deceitful. Haven't you met enough people who say one thing and do another? They might promise to treat Millie well on the surface, but who knows what they'll do in private."
