Chapter 590 I'm Your Biological Uncle
Rachel understood Howard's intentions.
Howard came to her birthday party because she invited Evella, not for her.
Rachel pursed her lips and said, "Since you're here, have a piece of cake before you leave."
"There's no need," Howard replied.
He thought for a moment and then said, "There's something that should be clarified now. I appreciate Mr. Romero and Mrs. Romero's kindness towards me, but my heart belongs elsewhere, and you deserve a better man who appreciates you."
After speaking, Howard turned away.
Jakov and Nicole exchanged a glance, both looking regretful. They had indeed taken a liking to Howard. Unfortunately, Howard didn't fancy Rachel.
"Howard is really blind. How could he set his eyes on the daughter of a rapist! Clearly, Linda is a hundred times better than Evella!" Linda exclaimed.
Mrs. Romero glanced at her, somewhat helpless, saying, "Linda, what did you do to Evella just now?"
Linda shrugged and said, "I just don't want Evella to marry Mr. Howard."
She explained what had happened briefly.
After listening, Jakov gave Linda a stern look and said, "I'm telling you, you'd better watch your behavior. If the Remington family set mind to give you a hard time, you won't be able to handle it. If Howard stands up for Evella, the Romero family won't be able to protect you!"
Upon hearing this, Linda sneered, "I haven't caused her any real harm. What can they possibly do to me?"
Jakov smirked coldly, "Hollis and Mr. Brown have spoiled you. You should know the young master of the Swift family, Kevin Swift."
Linda responded, "I know. Isn't he the one who was exposed in the news for taking advantage of naive college girls, making them offer themselves willingly to him?"
Jakov continued, "Do you know who leaked that news? It was Howard! The Swift family is quite prominent, yet they couldn't suppress the news."
"And Kevin has been exiled overseas by Mrs. Swift and banned from returning to the country in his lifetime. Whose handiwork do you think that is?"
Linda was shocked and asked tentatively, "Is this also Howard's doing?"
"Yes," Mr. Romero stated, "So, Howard is not a good person. Now that he claims to have feelings for Evella, he will definitely protect her. If he decides to pursue this further, I wonder how you'll handle it!"
At the thought of Kevin being exiled overseas, Linda turned pale.
She swallowed and said quickly, "Mrs. Romero, Mr. Romero, I want to go home. I won't come around for a while. Please have someone escort me home!"
Seeing Linda frightened, Jakov shook his head and had a servant accompany her home immediately.
Meanwhile, Nicole held Rachel's hand, saying, "Rachel, I was thinking of using this opportunity to help you and Howard develop some feelings, but now it seems that he and you are not meant to be."
Rachel said with a smile, "Mom, things are unpredictable. I'm still young, so don't rush to arrange an engagement for me."
Nicole looked at her and asked, "Rachel, you're not already set on Howard, are you?"
Rachel adjusted her attire and replied, "Mr. Howard is fine. Let's see how things go."
Outside, Evella returned the suit jacket to Richard, saying, "Richard, thank you for earlier."
"No problem." Richard took the jacket.
Thinking about Linda's baseless accusations, Evella felt apologetic. "I'm sorry for involving you, Richard."
Richard looked at Evella and then reached out to touch her shoulder, saying, "Evella, actually..."
Evella was startled and stepped back, wary of Richard's intentions, saying, "Richard, I see you as my uncle. You don't really have any other intentions towards me, right!"
Richard seemed overly caring towards her. Their interactions seemed too intimate.
Initially, Evella hadn't considered it, but after Linda's words, she felt something was off.
"Evella, don't overthink it. Come with me; I want to show you something." Richard reached out to pull her.
Evella stepped back quickly and said, "Don't pull me around. If you have something to say, say it here."
Richard was amused and no longer hid his intentions, saying, "You said you see me as your uncle, but in fact, I am your biological uncle."
Evella was taken aback and asked, "What do you mean?"
Richard explained, "Your father is my brother."
What!
Evella stared at Richard in disbelief as if struck by lightning.
Richard anticipated her reaction.
"You may not believe it. Let's go, leave here first. I'll show you the paternity test results." With that, Richard led Evella back to the car.
Evella was still processing everything, allowing him to guide her.
As Nora and Howard emerged from the estate, they only saw Richard's car's taillights fading into the distance until they disappeared.
Frowning, Howard asked, "Did Richard take Evella away?"
"I'll call Evella and ask." Nora took out her phone and dialed Evella's number, but it was switched off.
"It's off." Howard's frown deepened.
"Could Richard truly have set his sights on Evella? Would he do something bad to her?"
Nora reassured and said, "I don't think so. At most, you'll have one more rival."
Howard's expression tensed, he asked, "What happened earlier?"
Nora recounted the events.
Howard, filled with anger, muttered, "These people just never stop!"
Nora suggested, "Let's not dwell on this. Call Mr. Rogers and ask where he took Evella."
"Okay." Howard quickly dialed Richard's number.
Meanwhile, Richard handed the paternity test results to Evella in the car.
Richard said, "During our last meal together, I discreetly collected two of your hair strands for a genetic comparison. Here are the results."
Evella looked at the document, her fingers tightening.
She and Richard shared a certain blood relation!
Richard was indeed her biological uncle!
Evella's heart fluctuated, and she never expected to find out who her biological father was one day.
"Where is my dad now?"
Was he really a rapist?
Evella couldn't bring herself to ask. She held onto a glimmer of hope, hoping it was a mistake.
Her biological father must be a good person.
Just as Richard was about to respond, his phone rang.
