Chapter 684 Don't Covet Other's Wife

Kenneth seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. "I called her, but she didn't answer. What did the doctor say after the check-up?"

Nora glanced at Sandy again and decided to tell Kenneth what had just happened.

"The result of the check-up is fine,, but something happened at the hospital. We need to go to the police station now."

Kenneth was startled. "Why do you need to go to the police station? What happened?"

"We ran into a domestic abuser. His wife got prettier after plastic surgery and ran away, so he blamed the doctor and came to cause trouble."

Kenneth paused for a moment. "Are you going to the police station near Radiant Beauty Clinic?"

"Yes."

"I'll be there right away."

"Okay."

After hanging up, Nora said to Sandy, "Kenneth said he's coming over."

Sandy smiled and nodded.

Before long, Ernest, with his arm in a sling, was brought out by the police officers.

"Let's go," Jane said to Nora and the others.

"Alright."

Frederick brought the car around and opened the door for Nora and Sandy.

Zephyr also got into his car, and they all headed to the police station.

On the way, Jane received a call from her superior.

She glanced back at Nora's car following behind and frowned slightly. "Got it."

Aaron from the Gordon group was in contact with a suspect they were targeting.

Did Nora know about this?

The car continued on its way and soon arrived at the nearby police station.

After Nora and the others finished giving their statements, Kenneth arrived.

He stepped forward, holding Sandy's shoulders, looking her up and down with concern.

"Are you okay?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Sandy said softly, shaking her head.

"Alright." Kenneth sighed in relief and pulled her into a hug.

Sandy glanced at Zephyr, who was standing silently to the side, and said, "Thanks to Nora and Dr. Wright for protecting me. Otherwise, I might have gotten hurt today."

Hearing this, Kenneth finally noticed Zephyr.

His gaze fell on the white bandage around Zephyr's neck, and his eyes darkened.

"Dr. Wright, thank you."

Zephyr looked up. "I didn't save you, so I don't deserve your thanks."

Kenneth tightened his hold on Sandy. "Sandy is my wife. We're married. As her friend, you protected her when she was in danger, so I can naturally thank you on her behalf."

Kenneth emphasized these words.

Zephyr remained silent, but his fingers clenched slightly.

"Sandy, let's go home," Kenneth said softly, looking down at Sandy.

Sandy nodded and agreed.

Kenneth's expression softened as he gently tucked her hair behind her ear, speaking to her in a tender voice as they walked away.

Nora glanced back at Zephyr, seeing him staring fixedly at Kenneth and Sandy's retreating figures.

She couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

Zephyr should let go of his obsession and find a girl who belongs to him.

Nora blinked. Her gaze instinctively swept over to Jane, who was standing nearby.

It was quite a coincidence that Zephyr and Jane had met again.

She hoped that Zephyr and Jane would have more interactions in the future!

"Nora, aren't you coming?"

Kenneth turned his head and called out to Nora when he saw she hadn't followed.

Nora snapped back to reality. "Coming."

She waved to Jane. "Jane, we're leaving now."

After all, she couldn't force Zephyr and Jane to become a couple. How things went out between them was entirely up to destiny.

"Goodbye."

Jane hesitated for a moment but finally just said goodbye.

Although Nora had saved her, work was work, and personal favors were personal favors. She couldn't bring herself to warn Nora that her fiancé Aaron might be problematic.

"Well, I'm leaving too."

Zephyr was about to leave the police station.

Jane glanced at him and raised an eyebrow.

"Do you like Dr. Hernandez?"

Zephyr paused but didn't respond, continuing to walk forward.

Jane said slowly, "She's a married woman. It's unethical to break up someone else's family."

Zephyr, in a foul mood, stopped and turned to look at her.

"Jane Harvey, you're a cop. Focus more on your job and less on other people's private matters!"

This Zephyr, his temper was as bad as ever!

Jane thought about the pressure Zephyr had put on her in the fishing village and deliberately followed him slowly, taunting his back. "Dr. Wright, you tell me to mind my own business, so shouldn't you stop coveting someone else's wife?"

Zephyr paused again and glared back at Jane.

Jane gave him a provocative smile, then opened her car door and drove off.

Watching the car drive away, Zephyr took a deep breath and muttered, "We're not even close, mind your own business!"

Up ahead.

Kenneth drove Sandy away.

Nora was left to ride back in Frederick's car alone.

In the car, she received a call from Richard.

"Ms. Smith, are you available now?"

"Yes, I am."

"Let's have a meet."

It seemed that there was some news about Aaron's car accident.

Nora's eyes flickered. "Okay, where should we meet?"

Richard said the name of Mocha Dreamland Café.

Nora hung up and asked Frederick to turn around and head to the coffee shop.

Once at Mocha Dreamland Café, a server led Nora to the private room where Richard was waiting.

Inside the room, there was an unfamiliar man besides Richard.

The man looked to be about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old.

He had very fair skin and wore gold-rimmed glasses.

He looked very refined and handsome.

"Richard." Nora greeted Richard.

"Ms. Smith, you're here."

Richard nodded slightly at her. "Let me introduce you. This is Joseph Martinez, my elder brother's godson. Joseph, this is Dr. Smith, a good friend of Evella."

"Hello, Dr. Smith."

Joseph stood up and politely extended his hand to Dr. Smith.

"Hello."

Nora shook his hand, her eyes flickering.

She remembered Richard mentioning that Zack had once said if he had a daughter, he would marry her off to this Joseph!

Luckily, Howard first established a relationship with Evella.

Otherwise, it would have been a difficult situation.

Because Joseph was no less handsome than Howard!

Nora's mind raced, but she quickly reined in her thoughts after sitting down.

"Richard, you called me here because there's news about Aaron's car accident, right?"

Richard nodded and glanced at Joseph.

Joseph understood and took a document from his bag, pushing it in front of Nora.

"First, let's talk about my brother's case. Joseph has uncovered the truth. My brother was murdered."

This result was expected, but Nora's heart still sank.

"Who killed him?"

"Someone inside the Bilian Group."

Richard explained, "Someone bribed a mechanic named Max Carter at a repair shop. During my brother's car maintenance, he tampered with the vehicle, making it look like my brother died in a car accident due to a mechanical failure."
