Chapter 422 Bad Temper

Chloe looked panic-stricken and quickly ran upstairs.

Arthur's eyes gleamed with a hint of cunningness, and he said to Nora, "Sorry, sorry. As you can see, whenever I mention treating her, she reacts like this."

Nora glanced at him and said, "Arthur, I'm just here to check on Chloe, not to treat her."

Upon hearing this, Arthur laughed and praised, "Nora, you're so kind-hearted."

Nora said, "I'm a doctor, so naturally, I have more compassion for patients than ordinary people, especially someone like Chloe."

Arthur nodded approvingly and flattered, "Nora, you really embody the values of a doctor."

Nora did not appreciate it and glanced at Olivia, thinking about what had just happened. She said, "Arthur, she's your relative, right? I don't know if she's spoiled normally, making her so disrespectful to her elders."

Upon hearing this, Arthur glanced at Olivia and awkwardly said, "Yes, you've all met just now, right? Olivia told me everything. I'm sorry, she's my sister's only daughter, so she's been pampered and spoiled. I just scolded her harshly earlier; please don't mind it."

After saying that, he glared at Olivia again, "You're already an adult; you know that Chloe's moods can be unpredictable, yet you still insisted on borrowing things from her. Now, it's been seen by others; they might think you're bullying Chloe."

Olivia pretended to be wronged. "Uncle Arthur, I just wanted to play with Chloe; I forgot for a moment that Chloe's not mentally sound; I'm sorry."

"Next time, don't do this again. If you want something, tell me, and I will buy it for you," Arthur ordered.

"I understand," Olivia promised.

The two of them echoed each other, clearly shifting the blame onto Chloe.

Not a word mentioned their faults.

Nora sneered inwardly, saying nothing; she stood up and said to Mrs. Woodhouse, "Let's go."

Only by curing Chloe can Nora prevent her from being bullied.

"Arthur, Olivia, we're leaving first." Mrs. Woodhouse politely greeted the two.

"Take care," he said. Arthur watched the two leave, and then his previously smiling face instantly turned somber.

Olivia, who was next to him, sneered, "Nora's temper is really something! Could it be because the Hamilton family only recently discovered her? Wasn't she just an average person with no significance before they found her? It feels like we have to bend over backward to accommodate her every whim".

Upon hearing this, Arthur's face turned even darker.

He glanced at her and accused, "You, didn't I tell you when you joined the Woodhouse family to be on your best behavior? Why did you have to argue with that crazy woman and let others see?

"If the two old farts of the Woodhouse family find out, it'll be difficult for me. If we break ties with the Woodhouse family, you and your mother won't be able to enjoy wealth and luxury in the future."

Upon hearing this, Olivia clung to Arthur's arm and pouted, "Ah, how was I supposed to know that crazy woman would care so much about that piece of jewelry? I've taken things from her before, and she wasn't like this."

Arthur said, "You just said she's a crazy woman, so her actions naturally vary."

Olivia pursed her lips. "Uncle Arthur, you said that Nora is a Master healer. Can she cure the crazy lady?" she asked.

Arthur sneered, "Don't worry, I scared the crazy lady already. She certainly won't agree to treatment. As long as she's not cured, I can continue to exploit her and the Woodhouse family's money so that you and your mother can enjoy endless wealth and glory."

Upon hearing this, Olivia giggled softly. "Uncle Arthur, you're so good to me and my mother," she remarked.

Arthur looked at her face, which bore some resemblance to his own, and gently patted her head. "You two are my closest family. If I'm not good to you, then who else?" he said.

Outside.

Mrs. Woodhouse asked, "Nora, are we really leaving like this? We're not going to give Chloe the treatment?"

Upon hearing this, Nora smiled, and replied, "Don't worry, I've already started treating Chloe."

Mrs. Woodhouse looked surprised. "Really? When did you treat Chloe?"

"Just now," Nora replied.

Nora took out a pill from her bag and stated, "This is a homemade pill of mine; it's very effective for mental illnesses. I just coaxed Chloe into taking it."

"I will come every day to coax her into taking one. After a month, there should be some effect. It won't immediately restore her intelligence, but at least she will be more coherent than now. Once she regains her clarity, I can convince her to undergo further treatment, which will yield even better results." Nora continued.

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Woodhouse showed admiration on her face.

"Nora, this pill must have a bitter medicinal taste. And yet, you managed to coax Chloe into taking it without a fuss? I'm impressed, truly impressed!" Mrs. Woodhouse applauded.

Nora smiled slyly. "After all, I'm a mother of three children. I've coaxed them into taking medicine and getting shots when they were young," she remarked.

Even though her three children were well-behaved, they still had their moments of being sick.

Whenever they were ill, she would coax them into taking their medicine and getting shots.

So, she had some experience.

"Well, compared to you, as a mother, I'm not very competent," Mrs. Woodhouse said as she chuckled. "When I was young, my son Ryan had headaches and fever. It was his Grandfather, Grandmother, Great-Grandfather, and Great-Grandmother who took care of him, and I couldn't even find a place to insert myself."

Nora smiled and casually said, "You're so fortunate."

Mrs. Woodhouse glanced at her, knowing that as a single mother, she must have gone through a lot of hardships. She suddenly felt compassion as she held Nora's hand.

"Nora, when you were alone raising three children, it must have been tough, right?" Mrs. Woodhouse asked.

She wished she could teach that bastard a lesson, whoever he was who took advantage of her and didn't take responsibility. This would be all for Nora!

"It's not bad, anyway, they're all here," Nora replied and smiled.

"Well, you had to experience hardship before finding happiness," Mrs. Woodhouse said.

Nora smiled playfully without retorting.

She was truly happy now.

Not only did she have three lovely children by her side, but she also had many people who loved her.

"By the way, do you think Chloe will tell Arthur about you treating her? I'm afraid Chloe will tell Arthur, and he will interfere," Mrs. Woodhouse remarked. She thought of Arthur and couldn't help but worry.

"She probably won't; I just reassured Chloe like that," Nora repeated the words she used to calm Chloe.

Mrs. Woodhouse couldn't help but give a thumbs up.

"Nora, your way of comforting people is truly impressive," she praised.

Nora chuckled lightly, "Are you praising me or mocking me?"

Mrs. Woodhouse teased, "Of course, I'm praising you."

The two exchanged smiles.

Nora thought of something, and her smile weakened slightly.

"That arrogant girl just now, is she Arthur's niece?" Nora asked.

Mrs. Woodhouse nodded, "Yes, her name is Olivia; her mother is Elsa, Arthur's sister. But I heard that Elsa is not Arthur's biological sister, and she never got married when she was young, but she gave birth to Olivia."

"Arthur probably knows they have had a difficult life, so he treats them especially well, especially Olivia. That's why Olivia often comes to the Woodhouse family, and I guess taking Chloe's things like today is not the first time," Mrs. Woodhouse explained.
