Chapter 589 Richard Was Utterly Captivated.
Listening to the whispers of others, Simon looked embarrassed.
He glared at Linda with resentment, saying, "It's all because of your instigation! Linda, our relationship ends here. Don't come looking for me again in the future!"
With that, he quickly walked away.
Nancy and Karen also slipped away quietly.
Linda's expression changed rapidly; seeing everyone looking at her with eyes of amusement, she bit her lip and remained silent.
Rachel looked disappointed and somewhat helpless, saying, "Linda, why are you so stubborn? I told you not to keep an eye on Sunny; why did you have to make such a big scene?"
Linda pursed her lips, saying, "Rachel, I did it for you."
Rachel replied, "But I didn't ask you to use these means to make Sunny leave Mr. Howard!"
Linda glanced at Evella, still looking defiant.
Richard's face darkened. He said, "Samantha is so twisted in her thoughts. Rachel, You must give Evella an explanation today!"
Upon hearing this, Linda exclaimed, "Richard, why do you keep siding with Evella? Do you like her?"
He liked Evella!
How did Linda have such a vivid imagination?
Richard almost burst out laughing.
At this moment, the Romero couple brought Howard up.
Seeing so many people in the room, Jakov asked, "What's going on? Why is everyone gathered here?"
Upon hearing this, Linda rushed over as if she had seen a savior. She said, "Mrs. Romero, Mr. Romero, someone bullied me."
Nicole asked, "Who bullied you?"
Linda replied, "Richard."
Jakov was taken aback and glanced at Richard, saying, "Nonsense, Richard is a good person; he wouldn't bully you."
Linda held Nicole's arm. " He was smitten by Evella; he's not the same Richard anymore."
Howard listened to the conversation among them and walked over to Richard and Evella. Seeing Evella wearing a man's coat with a white dress underneath covered in wine stains, he furrowed his brows and asked, "What's going on?"
Before Evella could speak, Linda interjected, "Mr. Howard, you arrived just in time. This Evella is a promiscuous woman. As soon as she arrived, she flirted with Richard, captivating him totally."
"I just gave Evella a little lesson, and Richard is defending her with all his might. Break up with her quickly. She's not worthy of you; Linda is your perfect match."
Linda's remarks were simply spurious.
Evella couldn't help but laugh, saying, "Linda, I didn't want to argue with you, but you kept humiliating me. If you don't give me an explanation today, I won't let it go."
"Even if I am the daughter of a rapist, the blood of the Remington family runs through my veins. I believe the Remington family will avenge the grievances I suffer today!"
Evella didn't want to use her power to oppress others; she just wanted to live quietly. But sometimes, she was forced to do so.
Evella wouldn't stay on their level; yet they thought she was an easy target.
"Sunny, don't be angry; there may be a misunderstanding," Jakov quickly intervened and said.
Richard glanced at him, saying, "There's no misunderstanding; Linda must be held accountable to Evella today. Otherwise, Mr. Romero, we might not even be friends in the future!"
He was serious.
Jakov looked at Richard and then at Evella, puzzled.
They had been friends with Richard for over a decade.
Today, Richard was willing to turn against him for Evella.
Meanwhile, Linda didn't miss a chance to add fuel to the fire, saying, "Howard, can't you see how fiercely Richard is defending Evella? He's absolutely smitten with her!"
Upon hearing this, Howard pursed his lips, a hint of wariness in his eyes.
Although he wasn't sure what had happened before he arrived, it was clear to him that Richard was indeed defending Evella.
He was defending her to the point of severing ties with the Romero family.
Richard and Evella had only met twice; there was no reason for him to defend her like this.
Did Richard really have feelings for Evella?
Nora was equally shocked, sharing the same thoughts as Howard.
Where was Richard's overflowing boyfriend vibe from?
Did he really fall for Evella?
"Linda, stop causing trouble. If you've done something wrong, apologize to Evella quickly. Otherwise, you're not welcome in this house, and you shouldn't come back," Jakov commanded Linda.
"Uncle Jakov!" Linda dragged out the word, sounding displeased.
Mr. Romero remained firm and said, "Being cute won't work, do it quickly!"
Of course, Linda refused to apologize to Evella. She looked at Mrs. Romero and said, "Auntie Nicole!"
"Listen to him." Although Nicole didn't understand the situation, Richard had been their good friend for many years.
Moreover, Richard had taken care of Rachel a lot when he was abroad, so naturally, she leaned more towards Richard than Linda.
Seeing that Jakov and Nicole weren't siding with her, Linda declared angrily, "I won't apologize."
With that, she turned to leave.
"Stop right there; if you take one step out of this room, don't blame me for being ruth!" Jakov's voice was stern. "Your parents may indulge you, but I won't!"
Upon hearing this, Linda paused, her eyes reddening. She had been pampered by her parents since childhood, making her unruly. But Jakov didn't indulge her.
So, she had always been afraid of Jakov.
Rachel saw this and quickly grabbed Linda, saying, "Linda, listen to me, apologize to Sunny, I'm begging you."
Tears welled up in Linda's eyes; she was furious and stubbornly turned her head away. She said, "I won't."
Rachel looked helpless, then she turned to Richard and Evella, saying, "Richard, Evella, it was all Linda's fault. Please forgive her. I kneel and apologize to Evella on behalf of Linda."
With that, Rachel actually knelt.
"Rachel!" Linda and Nicole hurried to help Rachel up.
But Rachel shook her head, refusing to get up.
"Richard, look." Jakov looked at Richard helplessly.
Richard furrowed his brows and glanced at Evella.
Evella was surprised that Rachel would kneel and plead for her on Linda's behalf.
"Let it go; I won't hold it against you. Nora, I'm tired, I'm leaving first," Evella said.
Perhaps it was better for her to stay away from these wealthy young ladies in the future. It was truly exhausting!
"Mr. Romero, I'm leaving too." Richard nodded at Jakov and left quickly.
"Richard, you're leaving now? Dinner hasn't been served yet." Jakov hurried after him.
"I'm not hungry; you don't need to see me off." Richard went to catch up with Evella downstairs.
"Mr. Romero, Mrs. Romero, Rachel, I'm also taking my leave," Nora said.
"Why is everyone leaving?" Nicole looked helpless.
Howard naturally had to leave as well.
Rachel stopped him and said, "Howard, why are you leaving so soon?"
Howard glanced at her and said, "Rachel, I came here because of Evella. Since she's gone, I'll leave too."
