Chapter 374 Don't Offend the Wife's Friends
" It's up to you whether you believe it or not," Nora said calmly.
Kevin, however, believed her without a doubt.
"All right, let's hurry up and finish our meal so that we can continue with the next activity," he said, unconcerned with Anna's absence.
Sitting down, he seemed in a hurry, eager to finish the meal immediately so that they could begin activity.
Edric noticed this and was in awe; a hint of admiration flickered in his eyes. It seemed that Nora was not only capable as a doctor but also had the potential to be a public relations professional!
Edric smiled, serving Kevin some food and wanting to strike up a conversation with him.
However, Kevin paid him no attention and only chatted with Nora, inquiring about health-related matters.
Edric tried to speak a couple of times but couldn't get a word in; thus, he gave up and turned his attention to taking care of Jenny's meal.
Jenny didn't speak much throughout the whole meeting, feeling the suspense growing within her.
She served Edric a dish and asked softly, "Edric, do you think Nora is helping you build a connection with the client?"
"Yeah," Edric responded.
"Do you think there is still hope?" Jenny was somewhat nervous. She truly didn't want Edric to lose this important client because of her.
Edric held her hand, smiling mischievously. "Don't worry. It would be great if the deal goes through, but if it doesn't, that's fine too. Your boyfriend doesn't lack money; I can afford to take care of you," he declared confidently.
As he smiled charmingly, Jenny pinched his hand, feeling a warmth flow in her heart. She then served him another dish.
Edric was in a good mood. After taking a few bites, he pondered for a bit and picked up his phone to send a message to Aaron.
Edric: [Aaron, where are you?]
After sending the message, Aaron didn't respond. Edric was speechless.
Ever since his confrontation with Nora at the gym a few days ago, whenever Edric messaged Aaron, the latter would reply with just two words.
Aaron: [Friendship over.]
What kind of guy prioritizes their romantic relationships over friendship? Did he seriously intend to end their friendship?
Edric glanced at Nora, a glint of cheekiness flashed across his eyes, and he sent Aaron another message.
Edric: [Your future wife is here with me, discussing business.]
This time, Aaron finally replied to the message.
Aaron: [Speak plainly.]
Edric was at a loss for words. He wondered if he was speaking in a complicated manner.
Edric: [I am having dinner with Dr. Smith at Seaton Club. Are you coming or not?]
As soon as the message was sent, Aaron called. With a smirk, Edric apologized to Kevin and went outside to answer the call.
Edric greeted, "Hello?"
"Tell me, what's going on?" Aaron's tone was cold.
Edric chuckled lightly and teased, "Look at you. Are you seriously ending our friendship?"
"Get to the point," Aaron tersely replied.

"Tsk, with your bad temper, you deserve to be tortured by Dr. Smith." Edric laughed as he cursed, then continued, "Let me tell you, I had an unlucky day. Your girlfriend caught me again with Anna."
A faint, heavy sigh could be heard over the phone line.
Even through the phone, one could sense Aaron's frustration, with clenched teeth, he asked, "You're with Anna again? Edric, are you asking for trouble?"
Edric leisurely said, "Don't be angry; just let me finish."
He then proceeded to narrate the turn of events to Aaron. Then, without forgetting to praise, he said, "Dr. Smith is a kind-hearted and exceptional woman, truly a sister-in-law candidate."
He subtly flattered both of them.
Aaron's tone considerably softened as he inquired, "So, she's having dinner with your client, helping you win him over?"
"Yeah, so, are you coming?" Edric asked.
Aaron paused for a moment. "I'm a bit far from where you are; it would take me an hour to get there. By the time I arrive, you'll probably be done eating," he remarked.
"Well then, just wait for the next stop for entertainment," Edric said.
"Where is the next event?" Aaron asked.
"It hasn't been decided yet. I'll let you know when we confirm the location," Edric promised.
"Okay," Aaron agreed.
After hanging up, Edric rubbed his forehead and let out a deep sigh.
He concluded in his mind to never offend his wife's friends. Otherwise, his wife would leave him, and his 'brother' would leave him too. The possibility terrified him.
In the private room, Nora and Kevin chatted merrily while eating.
As Kevin finished his meal, Nora suddenly changed the topic. "Mr. Kevin, you really like music, don't you?"
Kevin expressed his regret as he faced her. "Yeah, it's a pity I couldn't hear the performance from Anna's band tonight."
Although he was surprised that Anna had ruined someone else's relationship, it was her personal life, and he didn't want to interfere. But he couldn't deny that Anna's music had moved him.
"Mr. Kevin, Edric wants to discuss a collaboration with you. If I can let you hear a different music tonight, would you give Edric another chance?" Nora asked.
Kevin became interested and asked, "Oh? What kind of different music?"
"You'll find out later," Nora didn't immediately tell him.
Kevin smiled, and remarked, "Ms. Smith is truly a mysterious person. Are you planning to have me listen to music while undergoing your treatment?"
Nora nodded and responded, "It's called music therapy."
Kevin chuckled and said excitedly, "I can't wait to start the music therapy."
Nora giggled as she got up, saying, "You take your time eating; I'll go to the restroom first."
Nora went into the restroom and sent Jenny a message.
Nora: [Jenny, you tell Edric to prepare a harmonica for me by any means necessary, along with a smooth and flat-edge leaf from a fig tree.]
Jenny, who was having her meal, was surprised to read Nora's message.
Jenny: [Nora, what are you planning to do?]
Nora: [Do you remember when we performed together on stage during the Children's Day? I hope to help your boyfriend,]
Jenny immediately understood the assignment. Nora intended to play a piece on the harmonica while Jenny danced alongside her.
That particular Children's Day became a sensation at a school because of Nora's unique performance.
Jenny: [Got it; I will have Edric arrange it right away.]
Jenny excitedly showed her phone to Edric.
After Edric finished reading the message, a hint of interest flashed in his eyes. He was a little intrigued!
Edric quickly contacted his assistant to prepare the items Nora requested and have them delivered to the club immediately.
Once they finished their meal, Edric settled the bill and suggested heading to the leisure area on the fourth floor instead of elsewhere.
Kevin had no objections as he was fully anticipating Nora's music therapy.
The group took the elevator up to the fourth floor and coincidentally encountered Fabio coming out of a VIP room.
"Edric, Ms. Smith?" Fabio's eyes showed a hint of surprise when he saw Nora and Edric.
"Fancy meeting you here, Fabio," Nora and Edric greeted him.
"Are you guys here for fun?" Fabio asked.
"Yes, I am entertaining an important guest," Edric glanced at Kevin.
Fabio nodded slightly at Kevin and instructed the staff leading their way, "Take them to the best private room inside, serve them the finest drinks, and everything is on the house for them, tonight,"
Edric laughed and said, "You're too kind, Fabio."
Fabio glanced at Nora and waved his hand, "I have a good relationship with Mr. Gordon. When his girlfriend comes to play, I must treat her well."
