Chapter 983 You Insulted Me

"What did I do?"

Gabriella glared at him. "I said I was your girlfriend, and you got upset. Worried Susan might get jealous?"

Johnnie was taken aback. "What?"

"Isn't she?"

Gabriella's tone was sharp. "Didn't you watch dandelions under the moonlight with her?"

Johnnie frowned. "I don't remember."

Gabriella scoffed. "Really? Playing dumb? The main guy in her story is clearly you."

Johnnie stared at her. "Are you jealous?"

Gabriella sneered and poked his chest. "Not jealous. Just don't like others eyeing what's mine. Remember, you're my servant now. As long as I'm not tired of you, no one else can touch you!"

She paused, then added, "And don't smile so sweetly at other women. My servant can only be gentle to me!"

Seeing her annoyed face, Johnnie smirked. "So possessive?"

"Yeah, so what?" Gabriella lifted her chin.

"Nothing, I'm your servant, I'll obey," Johnnie said.

His compliance made Gabriella happy.

"You better remember that," she said.

Johnnie nodded. "Alright, are you still mad?"

Gabriella's eyes shifted. "No."

Johnnie asked, "Really? What will it take to calm you down?"

"Bow down and kiss me!"

Her commanding tone wasn't off-putting.

Johnnie smirked, grabbed her chin, and kissed her.

Gabriella closed her eyes, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed back.

After a moment, she moved her lips down and bit his neck.

A slight sting spread across his skin.

Johnnie frowned; Gabriella was marking him.

"Leaving my mark."

She released her bite and gently rubbed the red mark with her thumb.

In the dim light, Gabriella's eyes shone brightly.

Johnnie smirked and leaned closer. "Do you know what animal likes to mark its territory?"

Gabriella was stunned, then quickly punched his chest.

"Are you trying to insult me?"

Johnnie chuckled. "I was just asking, you admitted it yourself."

Gabriella was speechless.

"Let's go."

Johnnie ruffled her hair.

His affectionate gesture left Gabriella's angry words stuck in her throat.

Watching Johnnie's tall frame, she ruffled her hair, eyes determined.

Johnnie was her boyfriend, and she wouldn't let anyone take him away!

Back outside the emergency room, only Randy was in the hallway.

"Dad, did Susan leave?" Johnnie asked.

"No, she went to get me some food since she knew I hadn't had lunch," Randy said.

He glanced at Gabriella and added, "Susan's a good girl, always has been."

Randy said this deliberately for Johnnie to hear.

Gabriella found it a bit harsh but smiled brightly.

"Johnnie, are you hungry? I'll get you something to eat."

She just needed to make sure Johnnie couldn't live without her. As for his friends and family, it was best if they liked her. If not, she didn't care.

"I'll go," Johnnie said.

"No worries, you stay and keep Randy company, I'll go."

Gabriella turned and left.

Johnnie smirked and sat next to Randy.

Once Gabriella left, Randy started asking questions.

"Johnnie, where's she from, how old is she, and how did you meet her?"

"She's a client of our company," Johnnie replied.

"Oh, a female client? No wonder she seems a bit restless," Randy commented.

Johnnie frowned. "Dad, don't judge people with old-fashioned views."

He knew older folks had traditional views. They thought good women should have stable jobs like doctors, nurses, or teachers. Women like Gabriella, who fought in the business world, weren't favored by older generations. They thought such women were always dealing with men and weren't settled.

"Johnnie, I'm just saying, it's better to find a gentle and caring girl for a long-term relationship," Randy shared his opinion.

Seeing Susan walking towards them, he added, "A girl like Susan is great, your mom would definitely like her."

Hearing this, Johnnie said seriously, "Dad, I only see Susan as a friend, don't say that."

Randy moved his lips but said nothing more. As Susan got closer, he stopped talking.

"Randy, Johnnie, I got some food, have some," Susan said, smiling as she handed over a food box.

"Thank you, how much was it? I'll transfer the money to you," Johnnie thanked her politely.

"No need, it's just a small amount," Susan said.

Johnnie didn't argue and transferred $50 to her.

Susan glanced at her phone and frowned. "Johnnie, are you treating me like an outsider?"

Johnnie put away his phone. "I'm a man, I don't let women pay."

"You're so domineering," Susan said coyly.

Randy quickly added, "Such a man will be caring after marriage."

Susan's eyes sparkled. "Yes, I like domineering men."

Her words were quite suggestive.

Johnnie watched her place the food on the seats and said, "Dad, you eat slowly, I'll wait for Gabriella."

Randy took the food box Susan handed him. "She just went to buy food, why don't you eat a bit with us while waiting."

"No worries, I'm not hungry," Johnnie said.

Susan's smile faltered. "So Ms. Costa also went to buy food? I bought too much then."

Johnnie didn't respond, standing aside waiting for Gabriella to return.

Until Randy and Susan were almost done eating, Gabriella hadn't returned.

"Johnnie, Ms. Costa hasn't come back yet, are you really not hungry? Why don't you eat a bit first?" Susan said.

Johnnie glanced at his watch. "No worries, I'm not hungry. Gabriella might not be familiar with the area, I'll call her."

He took out his phone and dialed Gabriella's number. The phone rang several times before it was answered.

"Gabriella, where are you?"

"I, oh no." Gabriella's exclamation came through the phone.

Johnnie's face changed. "What happened? Speak!"

"Who told you to call me? Great, I just spilled the food I bought!" Gabriella's annoyed voice came through the phone.
