Chapter 780 Friendship Was More Important than Love

Aaron stared into Nora's eyes mischievously and reached out to pull her close. "On purpose?"

In the midst of a crowd, Aaron attracted attention wherever he went. Every move of his was under the scrutiny of others.

Nora quickly said, "Let go, don't make a scene."

Aaron didn't release his grip. "I'm showing affection to my wife; how is that making a scene?"

Nora gritted her teeth. "I don't need your affection. Let go quickly, or I'll get angry!"

Aaron asked, "So, no more drinking?"

"No."

Only then did Aaron satisfactorily let go, picked up a glass of juice, and offered it to her again.

Nora took a sip from his hand, rolling her eyes inwardly. But she dared not lash out, fearing that Aaron might once again act inappropriately and make her the center of attention!

Meanwhile, Becky and Jenny had moved away.

Watching Aaron taking care of Nora so attentively, Becky said, "Jenny, you should make Edric learn from Mr. Gordon how to serve you properly."

Jenny laughed. "Then Lucas should learn from Mr. Gordon, too."

Becky waved her hand. "He doesn't need to learn. He's already too clingy. If he learns more, I'll get annoyed."

Jenny chuckled. "Can you stop showing off?"

Becky smiled, looking around. "Where's Edric disappeared to?"

In fact, she wanted to ask if he had gone to the hospital to visit that woman named Ursula.

"Just had some business partners looking for him."

Jenny also looked around and didn't see Edric.

A faint smile appeared on her face, echoing Becky's thoughts.

Had Edric left to visit Ursula at the hospital?

"Jenny, I've noticed that men are so fickle. The better you treat them, the less they value you. Ignore him, and he'll come running. So, don't pour all your heart into your husband; learn to be distant," Becky sighed.

Jenny said, "Becky, seems you are quite the expert."

Becky said, "These are words from my heart as someone who has been through it. You must remember."

Jenny nodded. "Alright. I won't go back tonight; I'll have a heart-to-heart with Nora. Will you join us?"

Upon hearing this, Becky's eyes lit up.

"Of course, friendship is more important than love!"

Jenny smiled as a server passed by, taking two glasses of wine and handing one to Becky.

"Here, let's toast to our friendship!"

"Cheers!"

They clinked their glasses and took a sip.

Becky looked at the couple, who were still affectionate, not far away. "But they seem to have both love and friendship. Are you sure our friendship can surpass their love?"

Jenny blinked. "If Nora forgets friends for lovers, then we won't include her in our plans!"

"Okay!"

They joked around, and Becky saw Edric walking towards them.

Raising an eyebrow, she said to Jenny, "Your husband is coming."

Jenny turned around, watching Edric approach, her eyes flickering.

He hadn't left.

That was good!

Edric reached Jenny and furrowed his brows lightly. "Honey, I told you to sit; why are you standing? Are your feet hurting?"

"I'm fine." Jenny smiled.

Becky, on the side, deliberately said, "Looks like Mr. Bishop is quite nice to Jenny. I didn't see you just now; I thought you went to the hospital to see Ms. Ford. My mistake."

Becky's words carried a hint of teasing.

If it were someone else saying this, Edric would have retorted.

But now, it seemed like Becky was close to Nora and Jenny, so he didn't dare offend her.

Couldn't afford to!

Edric pulled Jenny close, his expression gentle. "How could I? In my heart, my wife is the most important. Why would I leave my wife to see someone irrelevant?"

Edric's words were quite comforting.

Becky glanced at Jenny, smiling slyly. "Really? Does it mean that you'll never go against her wishes?"

Edric continued, "Absolutely!"

Becky nodded. "Then tonight, we will chat all night. Are you okay with that?"

Edric's smile faltered. "Are you planning to stay out all night?"

Becky glanced at him. "Don't make it sound so bad. We're just having a heart-to-heart chat!"

Edric was speechless.

There was no difference between the two.

Both meant not going home.

Seeing Edric's visibly dimmed expression, Becky deliberately asked, "What's wrong, Mr. Bishop? You seem to disagree. Were your earlier words just to please Jenny?"

Edric snapped out of it, awkwardly chuckling. "Of course not. Jenny and Dr. Smith haven't seen each other in a while, so I understand. You ladies, enjoy your night!"

Becky nodded. "Right, when Jenny isn't home, Mr. Bishop, don't get any funny ideas about getting involved with Ms. Ford!"

Edric was speechless. "Why would I? Jenny knows Ursula is just a regular guest at our house."

Becky glanced at Jenny again, smiling slyly. "That's right, Mr. Bishop has good taste. Why would he leave his beautiful wife for someone with a surgically altered face?"

Edric forced a smile. "Exactly."

He found Becky more cunning and difficult to handle than Nora.

He couldn't afford to provoke her!

Edric subconsciously glanced at Aaron and Nora, who were not far away.

Seeing Aaron wiping Nora's mouth with a napkin, he asked Jenny, "Honey, are you hungry? Have you eaten anything?"

Jenny was secretly amused by Becky teasing Edric.

Shaking her head with a smile, she replied, "No."

Becky chimed in, "Mr. Bishop, we were just admiring Nora here. Look at her husband, so considerate!"

Edric understood immediately. "I'll go get some food."

As Edric left, Becky couldn't help but laugh loudly.

"Jenny, Edric must be annoyed with me."

Jenny also laughed. "No, Edric is very gracious."

Becky gave her a side-eye. "Does Edric only possess good qualities in your eyes. And where, pray tell, is your self-respect?"

Jenny awkwardly smiled and quickly changed the subject. "Let's drink."

Becky clinked her glass with Jenny's and said, "Remember my words, don't be too good to men, got it?"

"I got it!"

"Remember?"

"I remember!"

Becky gave her a look and uttered, "I don't believe it!"

Jenny couldn't help but laugh, realizing that Becky was becoming more and more interesting.

Nora, having eaten and drunk her fill, walked over and asked, "What are you two talking about?"

Becky glanced at her. "We're discussing how to make our husbands as devoted to us as yours is to you."
