Chapter 326 Dealing with Bad Women Requires Cunningness
Upstairs, Nora had two things in mind. First, changing her clothes and second was making a video call with Alex.
She called Alex first.
"Mommy," Alex's adorable voice rang out.
Nora smiled and asked, "Where are your brother and sister?"
"They just went back to their bedrooms. Do you want me to call them for you?" Alex responded.
"No need, I need you to do Mommy a favor," Nora said.
Alex's eyes lit up, "What do you need?"
"Can you use your hacking skills to access someone's phone and send a message from another person's identity?" Nora inquired.
She wanted to make Alex send a text message under Suzy's name to Jackson, making him believe that Suzy was asking him out on a date!
"No problem," Alex replied confidently.
"Thank you, sweetheart. I would like you to…" Nora detailed the message content, instructing Jackson to meet at the Moore family's private room at the Hilton 1880 at 10:30 PM to discuss some matters.
Alex nodded attentively, "Okay, got it."
Nora blew him a kiss, "Love you."
Alex blushed slightly, "Mommy, I'm going to hang up now."
"All right." Nora ended the video call.
After changing his clothes, Aaron sat down next to her, "All set?"
"Not yet. Hand me your phone," Nora gestured.
Aaron raised an eyebrow skeptically, "Are you checking up on me?"
Nora chuckled and played along, "Yeah, do you mind?"
"Not at all," Aaron laughed and passed his phone to her.
He knew Nora was plotting something for the evening, likely using his identity to lure Suzy out.
"Unlock it," Nora said, looking at the locked screen.
Aaron wrapped one arm around her slender waist and guided her hand to swipe the screen open with the other.
The screen unlocked quickly.
Nora's eyebrows lifted playfully, "Aaron, now that I know your phone password, aren't you afraid I'll check on you every day?"
"You're welcome to check! It means you care about me, and I'm more afraid that you won't," Aaron retorted.
A glint of amusement crossed Nora's eyes, and without further banter, she began to fiddle with the phone.
Aaron leaned in to see that she indeed was messaging Suzy. Nora pretended to be Aaron in the messages.
Nora as Aaron: [Suzy, was it you who instigated Miss Moore's actions today?]
Was she trying to trap Suzy into a confession? Aaron watched with lips curled in anticipation, waiting for Suzy's response.
Suzy replied quickly.
Suzy: [Who said that? Who is slandering me?.]
Nora swiftly typed a message in response.
Nora as Aaron: [Don't worry about who told on you, it would be best for you to come out. I want to have a serious talk with you.]
Aaron watched her send the message and smirked with amusement. He remarked, "Nora, you're so naughty."
Nora arched an eyebrow, "To deal with a nasty woman, you can't be too honest."
Aaron nodded in agreement, "You're right, as expected of my wife."
Nora glanced at him but didn't engage in their usual banter; she was waiting for her plan to take effect.
On the other end of the line, Suzy stared at her phone screen, her eyes gleaming with a hint of confusion.
Aaron wanted her to go out, now? That was kind of strange, wasn't it? Could it be that someone was using his phone to send her these messages?
With a flicker in her eyes, Suzy dialed Aaron’s number directly.
She needed to confirm whether the person texting her was indeed Aaron himself.
Meanwhile, Nora saw the incoming call and said, "Suzy’s quite smart to call and verify the truth. Aaron, you take the call, just say 'hello' and nothing else."
Aaron, full of interest, nodded in agreement, "As you wish, my dear wife."
Nora chuckled, not bothering to correct his form of address and answered the call.
Aaron voiced a ‘hello,’ and heard Suzy's voice through the static.
Suzy asked, "Aaron, are you the one asking me to go out?"
Nora waited for her to finish, then promptly hung up the phone. She immediately typed another message.
Nora as Aaron: [If you don't want to come out, that's fine by me.]
Having heard Aaron's voice, Suzy took the bait, what more could she be doubting from the messages? She quickly texted back.
Suzy: [I'm coming, just send me the address.]
Success! Nora smiled crookedly and sent Suzy the location.
"Now, we just wait for the show to begin," she remarked.
Aaron wrapped his arms around her, his eyes filled with adoration. "How did I get such a brilliantly smart woman for a wife?" He leaned in to kiss her.
Nora turned her head to avoid him, laughing, "My head is thick, doesn't mean I'm that smart."
Aaron quirked an eyebrow, then playfully pushed her onto the couch.
He jested, "Yes, the truly brilliant minds should come to you for advice on how to be smart without going over the top." His dark eyes twinkled with a teasing light.
Nora laughed, pushing against his chest, "Get off, you're so heavy."
Aaron's gaze fell lovingly on her delicate collarbone, his slender fingers tracing it lightly. "Nora, how can you be so beautiful?" His kiss landed deeply on her soft skin, lingering lovingly.
Nora, stirred by his caress, closed her eyes, forgetting about everything else.
That's when a knock at the door echoed. "Dr. Smith, are you done yet?"
Nora suddenly opened her eyes, remembering that Hollis was still waiting for her to come downstairs.
She quickly pushed Aaron away and called out, "I'll be right there."
Aaron, having only just satiated his momentary desire, held her and took a deep breath.
"You better get up quick, don't keep Mrs. Brown waiting," Nora urged.
Aaron exhaled a heavy breath, stood up, and pulled Nora to her feet. He was a bit puzzled. Why would Hollis suddenly invite him to come downstairs for dessert soup?
Nora changed her clothes and joined Aaron to go downstairs.
They found Quinn and Baldwin also sitting in the living room.
Each of them was holding a bowl of some sweet dessert soup.
"Aaron, Nora, you're back? Was the party lively today?" Quinn asked, her apricot eyes shimmering with curiosity.
"It was very lively," Nora replied with a smile as she took a seat at the dining table.
Quinn raised an eyebrow, "I heard you were called a temptress and almost got burned?"
Nora blinked, "You already know about it? That's some fast news."
Quinn was stirring her dessert soup with her spoon, "Gossip is one thing the elite are never short of."
Nora gave a resigned smile, "I'm quite helpless too."
"It's because your charm is just too strong," Aaron interjected.
Nora glared at him and said sarcastically, "It takes one to know one."
It was his troublesome admirer who had stirred up trouble, leading to her misfortune.
"Doctor Smith, have some. This is a special dessert soup that the lady of the house made herself." Mary brought bowls of the dessert soup to Nora and Aaron.
Hollis took up the conversation, "Nora, I'm starting to feel a bit in my legs again. You've been working hard these past days."
Nora accepted the bowl with a curved smile, "It's no trouble at all. Thank you for the dessert soup, Mrs. Brown."
"Go on, give it a taste." Hollis smiled slyly, her gaze casually sweeping over Aaron.
Aaron felt that being able to enjoy this bowl of dessert soup tonight was probably thanks to Nora's good graces.
He didn't think much of it, stirred the soup with his spoon, and then brought the spoon to his mouth.
