Chapter 1057 Being a Gentleman to All Girls
Wesley took the phone Elijah handed him and stepped to the corner to take the call.
Samantha swallowed her words. 'Why is it so hard to confess my feelings?'
"Miss Gordon, I'm sorry for dirtying your clothes and shoes. Wesley just helped me clean them up, didn't he?" Elijah said, looking apologetic.
Samantha smiled and nodded.
Elijah sighed, "Wesley is always so gentle and considerate with girls. No wonder his female fan base grows faster than other singers every month."
Hearing this, Samantha's smile faded a bit. 'Of course, Wesley's good nature makes him a gentleman to all girls. Do I really think he treats me differently?'
Elijah noticed her change in expression and smirked. "I've been Wesley's assistant since he joined the company. He's the most good-tempered and hardworking singer I've ever met. It probably has something to do with his experiences.
I hope his career lasts long and he doesn't start dating as soon as he gets a bit famous, like many other singers and artists.
For an idol singer with so many female fans, dating would definitely cause a massive loss of fans. So dating for him is like losing his job."
Elijah kept smiling, chatting casually with Samantha.
Samantha sipped her coffee, gripping the cup tighter, thinking, 'Right, Wesley is an idol singer with many female fans. He relies on them for his livelihood. Knowing how hard it is for him to become popular, why am I thinking of confessing now? Wouldn't that sabotage him? I can't do that to his career.'
Samantha was glad she hadn't confessed. Otherwise, she wouldn't know how to handle it.
She took a deep breath, letting go of her thoughts.
Looking at Wesley on the phone and then at her coffee, she smiled. No matter what, she was happy today because she got to work with Wesley and he even bought her coffee.
Samantha took out her phone, snapped a photo of the coffee, and posted it on social media with the caption: [A good mood starts with a cup of coffee.]
As soon as she posted it, people started liking and commenting. They were all her classmates and close friends, asking where she was.
Samantha replied uniformly: [At Elmrest Springs.]
Soon, Millie commented: [Does the coffee have a story?]
Samantha's heart skipped a beat, worried Millie might spill the beans. After all, their families were friends.
Millie's comment could be seen by everyone in the family. Nora also commented: [What's the story with the coffee?]
Billy sent: [Which guy bought you the coffee?]
Erin commented: [Alex and I smell romance!]
Seeing their comments, Samantha laughed and quickly replied: [Stop guessing, I bought the coffee myself, okay?]
Billy replied: [Why does a good mood start with a cup of coffee? Are you not in a good mood at home?]
Samantha blinked and typed: [Yeah, not having to see annoying you makes my mood exceptionally good!]
Millie replied with a laughing emoji.
"Who are you chatting with?" Wesley finished his call and walked up to Samantha, curious as he saw her engrossed in her phone.
"Oh, just chatting with family," Samantha said, putting away her phone.
"Shall we continue?" Wesley asked.
"Sure," Samantha agreed, and they headed to the music room together.
Elijah watched them go, her grip tightening and loosening. She took a deep breath and followed.
In the music room, Wesley turned to Elijah. "Elijah, Samantha and I need to practice. I don't like being disturbed. Unless I call for you, don't come in."
"Okay," Elijah replied.
As the door closed, Elijah stood outside, listening to Wesley's soulful singing, a hint of sadness in her eyes. 'The song "First Sight" is for his beloved. Does he fall for Samantha at first sight? Isn't Wesley's song also expressing my own feelings?' she thought.
Samantha and Wesley practiced all afternoon. By evening, Wesley said, "Alright, let's call it a day. We've practiced for so long, you must be hungry. Let me treat you to dinner?"
Samantha's eyes lit up. "Sure."
Even though she couldn't confess to Wesley, she felt like dancing with joy.
They left the music room, and Wesley asked Elijah to find a restaurant. Elijah suggested a relatively private one.
"Wesley, how about the Gourmet Restaurant we went to last time?"
Wesley glanced at Samantha. "Samantha, the food there is a bit spicy. Can you handle it?"
Samantha smiled. "I'm not picky."
Although she preferred sweet over spicy, she wanted to cater to Wesley's taste.
"Then let's go there," Wesley said.
"Okay," Elijah responded, then picked up a mask and hat, starting to equip Wesley. Her movements were skillful, and Wesley cooperated well.
Samantha stood by, blinking. She couldn't help but feel like a wife helping her husband get ready before heading out. She tried to remind herself that Elijah was just doing her job as Wesley's assistant.
"Sorry, do you think I'm being too fussy?" Wesley, fully equipped, saw Samantha daydreaming and apologized.
Samantha snapped out of it and shook her head. "Not at all. You're a hot star right now; it's normal to dress up before going out."
Wesley sighed, "Mainly because there are too many crazy fans now. If someone recognizes me, we won't be able to eat today."
Samantha smiled and teased, "Wesley, are you indirectly bragging about your fame?"
Wesley chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Teasing me?"
"My hair!" Samantha quickly protected her head. She noticed Wesley particularly liked ruffling her hair, wondering if he did this to other girls too.
"Your hair feels great; you could be a shampoo spokesperson," Wesley said.
"Thanks for the compliment," Samantha replied, feeling delighted.
"What shampoo do you use? Can I use it too?"
"Your hair looks good too."
"Really? It's a bit dry, not as nice as yours."
Watching them chat intimately, Elijah had very mixed feelings.
