Chapter 654 Having a Meal Together Before Leaving
Upon hearing this, Frederick immediately stood guard in front of Aaron with a vigilant look, his gaze sharp as he stared at Jessica.
"Is there anything else?" Aaron asked in a deep voice.
Jessica replied, "Ms. Everhart asked me to tell you all not to worry. Since you have safely come out from the back mountain, she will naturally keep her promise and ensure your safe departure from here."
Nora came downstairs with Alex and Erin and heard Jessica's words.
She had originally planned to leave without saying goodbye, but it seemed unlikely now.
Aaron looked at her and said, "Elara wants us to come over."
Nora nodded silently. "Then let's go."
Since Elara had said so, they wouldn't be troubled anymore.
Aaron was afraid that Nora would get tired of carrying Erin, so he said, "I'll carry her."
"It's okay. I'll carry her first, and when I can't carry her anymore, you can take over." Nora rarely had the chance to carry Erin, so she was more than happy to do so.
They followed Jessica to the Elaraters' house.
Inside the house, Elara sat neatly dressed in the main seat, exuding a sense of majesty.
Seraphina stood quietly by the side.
She wasn't wearing a headscarf today, looking clean and tidy. Her clothes had also changed from an ethnic style to a style similar to Nora's.
She looked calm and serene.
Seeing them enter, Seraphina's gaze swept over Noe, landed on Nora's face, and she smiled slightly at her.
Nora looked at Seraphina's attire, her eyes flickering.
It seemed like she was ready to go on a long journey!
Seraphina seemed to be planning to leave with them.
Elara said, "You're here, please have a seat."
Elara spoke coldly, her gaze falling on Aaron's face, showing no emotion.
Erin had already woken up, but she still seemed a bit sleepy.
Nora sat on the sofa with Erin in her lap.
Alex had a serious expression, sitting by her side.
On the other side was Aaron.
Noe, Frederick, and Ronald stood behind them in a protective stance.
"Elara, did you call us here to discuss something?" Aaron asked.
"You are guests, and since you are leaving today, as the future Chieftain, I must fulfill the duties of a host," Elara replied, then glanced at Jessica beside her.
Jessica understood and quickly brought out the breakfast that had been prepared early in the kitchen.
"Mr. Gordon, you probably haven't had breakfast yet. Let's have a meal together before you leave," Elara said as she stood up.
The aroma of the food lingered in the air, arousing their appetites.
Nora, Aaron, and Noe were already hungry, and upon smelling the food, they couldn't help but swallow.
However, because they were at Elara's house, none of them moved, fearing that Elara might tamper with the food.
Elara noticed their concerns and chuckled, "Why aren't you eating? Are you afraid I've poisoned the food? Ms. Smith, you're a doctor; why don't you check if the food is poisoned?"
Nora looked at the rich spread of food on the table, wondering if she should shamelessly go and check.
The food looked incredibly tempting, but she was a bit hesitant!
She was indeed worried that Elara might drug the food again and force Aaron to stay!
"Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, this breakfast was prepared by me and Pamela Gray together. Please enjoy it with peace of mind," Seraphina spoke gently from the side.
Upon hearing this, Nora felt a bit relieved. Although she didn't trust anyone, she believed Seraphina.
After all, Seraphina had helped them last night, allowing them to leave the mountain smoothly.
And now, with Seraphina's current attire, she was definitely planning to travel with them so she wouldn't harm them.
"Let's go." Aaron also thought of this point and stood up.
"Aaron, we haven't brushed our teeth or washed our faces," Nora whispered.
They had planned to clean up after leaving here and boarding the plane, but they didn't expect Elara to invite them for breakfast.
Aaron's eyes flashed with a hint of a smile as he reassured her in a low voice. "It's okay; We'll be dirty together for a day."
Nora didn't say anything more and picked up Erin.
Then Aaron held Alex's hand.
"Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, please eat. I'm not hungry." Frederick remained vigilant and refused to sit at the table.
Ronald also refused to sit, and both of them dutifully protected the safety of the group.
Noe had originally planned to be like Frederick, a loyal servant, staying alert at all times. But his stomach betrayed him with a growl.
He looked embarrassed in an instant.
Frederick and Ronald had eaten last night, so skipping breakfast wouldn't bother them. But he and Seraphina had rushed through the mountains last night without dinner, so he was starving.
"Come and taste Seraphina's cooking." Aaron glanced back at him with a teasing look in his eyes.
Noe was speechless. Didn't they agree not to tease him anymore?

Noe thought to himself and subconsciously glanced at Seraphina.
But Seraphina didn't look at him, busy at the dining table.
He seemed to be the only one feeling uneasy.
Why did it feel like he was making a fuss for no reason?
It was clearly Seraphina who had brought up the idea of marrying him, but now, he felt embarrassed.
Seraphina didn't know that Noe's thoughts were in turmoil at the moment. She was busy introducing the food to the people at the table, "Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, these are the foods we usually eat here. Hope you enjoy."
Nora looked at the rich spread on the table, feeling that it had a unique local flavor.
Looking at the variety of meats, fish, vegetables, and noodles prepared in completely different ways on the table, Nora couldn't even name the dishes.
"Seraphina, what is this?" Nora pointed to a food that looked like a dessert, curious.
"This is called bitter buckwheat. Would you like to try it with some honey?" Seraphina said.
Nora swallowed and then took a bite of the dessert.
It was bittersweet and refreshing.
Nora wasn't used to it at first, but as she savored it, she found it quite enjoyable.
"How is it, delicious?" Seraphina asked.
"It's not bad, very tasty." Nora nodded.
Seraphina said with a smile, "If you like it, have some more. You can have it with tea."
She poured a glass of tea for Nora and then continued to introduce other dishes, "Try this one, these are dried small fish. They are very fragrant."
Seraphina introduced each dish one by one, serving a bit of each to Nora.
Nora thanked her and tasted a few bites of each dish in the bowl, finding each one truly delicious.
After tasting, she began to serve breakfast to Alex and Erin.
"Mr. Gordon, would you like a drink?" Elara said, holding up a jug of wine.
Nora glanced at her and quickly said, "He's injured and shouldn't drink."
Aaron was about to speak, but upon hearing Nora's words, he remained silent.
Elara looked at him and said, "It seems Mr. Gordon listens to Dr. Smith quite well."
Aaron said, "Nora is my lover; it's normal for me to listen to her."
Elara narrowed her eyes and said, "It appears that in your society, the notion of male dominance and female subservience no longer holds true as they say."
