Chapter 591 Where's My Dad?
The call came from Howard.
"I'll take a call first," Richard said to Evella, then answered the phone, "Hello."
"Richard, where did you take Evella? I warn you, you'd better send her back home safe and sound. If anything happens to her, I won't let you off!" Howard's warning voice came through the phone.
Richard's face remained expressionless. He said, "Dr. Hamilton, don't be so agitated. Rest assured, Evella is safer with me than with you. At least she won't be hated and framed by others."
The grievances Evella suffered today were all thanks to Howard.
Evella was the only blood relative of Richard's brother in this world.
Richard would never allow anyone to harm her!
So, whether Howard was a good match for Evella remained to be seen!
After hanging up, Richard looked at Evella beside him.
Evella was still looking at the test report in her hand.
Richard asked, "Hungry? How about we find a place to sit down, eat and chat?"
Evella's eyelashes trembled slightly, obediently agreeing.
On the other line, Howard was hung up on, his face gloomy, continuing to call Richard.
But Richard neither answered the phone nor hang up directly.
Howard's face grew darker. He said, "Richard doesn't even answer my calls. Where on earth is he taking Evella?"
Nora asked, "What did Richard say?"
Howard said, "He said Evella is safer with him than with me."
Nora looked at Howard's dark face, raised her eyebrows, and said, "It seems so. Just now, Evella almost got into trouble, and it was Richard who protected her."
Howard glanced at her, protesting, "Nora, Why are you speaking up for him?"
Nora teased him deliberately and said, "You deserve it. It's probably because God saw that when I wasn't recognized by my parents before, you helped Suzy bully me; that's why I'm now teasing you!"
Howard choked for a moment and said, "You can tease me, but don't drive away my girlfriend!"
Nora burst into laughter and said, "Alright, calm down, let's go home first."
Howard frowned and said, "But I'm worried about Evella."
Nora said, "What can you do? Even if you keep standing here, Richard won't bring Evella back."
It was true.
Howard felt frustrated and could only go home with Nora first.
Meanwhile, Richard took Evella to a nearby restaurant.
After entering, he asked the waiter to find a private room for them to sit down.
Once they ordered, Evella couldn't wait and asked, "Can you tell me where my dad is?"
She remembered Richard mentioning to Aaron that his brother had passed away.
"He passed away." A hint of sorrow flashed in Richard's eyes.
"So, is my dad the CEO of Bilian Group?" Evella asked.
Richard nodded. "Yes."
Evella's fingers curled slightly.
Although she didn't keep up with financial news, she had heard of the reputation of the Bilian Group. It was a very prestigious company. So, Zack was quite a remarkable figure! Yet, she hadn't met him, and they were already separated by the stark boundary of life and death!
"How did my dad die?" Evella asked.
"He died in a car accident." Richard poured a glass of water for Evella, his eyes darkened.
He didn't tell Evella the truth that Zack's car accident wasn't an accident, but was deliberate.
As for who was behind Zack's death, he was still investigating in secret.
"Do you have a photo of my dad?" Evella asked.
"Yes." Richard opened his phone's gallery, clicked on a photo, and handed it to Evella.
The photo showed two people together.
One was Richard, and the other was Zack.
Evella's gaze fell on Zack.
Zack was around forty years old, wearing a white shirt and black trousers. Although not young anymore, his features were handsome, exuding a mature and dignified aura. He looked like an elite. Zack's eyes were especially sharp, revealing a hint of wisdom.
It was hard for Evella to connect this Zack with a rapist.
There must be some misunderstanding.
Summoning her courage, Evella tentatively asked, "Is my dad really the rapist they're talking about?"
Richard sighed and said, "Evella, you need to prepare yourself. Your dad did indeed do something wrong to your mom. Your birth was an accident."
Evella's heart sank suddenly. She asked, "Is my dad really a rapist?"
