Chapter 775 Did You Have Any Other Thoughts?
"Aunt Fiona."
Ursula covered her nose, her face under her palm looking extremely unpleasant.
Watching Edric accompany Jenny to a corner of the banquet hall, the two sat down; Edric put Jenny's feet on his lap, checking for her; Ursula's eyes were full of jealousy.
"Go to the hospital first."
Fiona suppressed her displeasure and gave her a comforting look.
Ursula could only reluctantly leave with Yvette.
The farce ended.
Nora and Becky exchanged a glance, sharing a knowing smile.
On the side, Aaron, with deep brown eyes, narrowed his gaze.
'Nora was up to mischief.'
"Everyone, it's almost time; Mr. Gordon's birthday banquet is about to begin today; please quiet down."
On the stage, the emcee hired by the Gordon family began to host the banquet.
Tonight's celebration used a mixed format.
The banquet hall was divided into two parts.
One part was set up in a buffet style, which was convenient for everyone to help themselves and interact with the guests.
The other part was designated as a resting area, convenient for the elderly to sit and rest while socializing.
Upon hearing the emcee's words, guests sitting or standing all walked towards the center of the stage.
Lucas came to find Becky.
The two walked hand in hand.
Aaron also wrapped his arm around Nora's waist, whispering in her ear, "So, what was that all about just now?"
Nora's beautiful eyes twinkled as she smiled. "Just using someone else to achieve one's own ends."
Aaron raised an eyebrow, thinking of the scene just now, and instantly understood.
He pinched Nora's soft waist, indulgently saying, "Mischievous."
Nora, ticklish, almost let out a sound.
She playfully glared at him, pinching him. "Stop it."
Aaron said, "Okay, we'll continue later."
Nora was speechless.
Meanwhile, Willow approached Fiona, speaking insincerely,
"Fiona, I'm sorry for my impulsive behavior earlier. Please let me know how much Ms. Ford spent on seeing the doctor later; I will compensate in full."
Fiona was watching Edric and Jenny, somewhat absent-minded.
"Willow, even though we didn't become in-laws, you really need to work on your temper. It's not acceptable to throw a tantrum without reason."
Willow smiled insincerely. "You're right. Is that Ms. Ford, the one you have in mind as a daughter-in-law?"
"Yes. Ursula is the niece of my good friend. She's talented, beautiful, with a good personality, and quite compatible with Edric."
Fiona mentioned Ursula with a satisfied expression.
Willow's eyes flashed with sarcasm.
"Her beauty is not natural; is that kind of plastic surgery face also considered beautiful?"
Fiona frowned slightly, somewhat displeased. "Young people these days like to make minor adjustments; it's quite normal."
Seeing Fiona defend Ursula like this, Willow knew that belittling Ursula further would be futile.
She turned her eyes towards Edric and Jenny.
"But I see Mr. Bishop and his wife get along well. Even if you have your eye on Ms. Ford, will he divorce his wife?"
Fiona looked at the two, seeing Edric attentively massaging Jenny's feet, her brows furrowed, a look of displeasure on her face.
"This Jenny, she has no other skills, but she's really good at embarrassing my son!"
With that, she walked toward Edric and Jenny.
Just as Edward, who had been chatting with a few old friends, strode over and grabbed Fiona.
"Honey, what are you going to do?"
Fiona glanced at him, annoyed. "Look at your good son, massaging his wife's feet in public; it's really inappropriate."
Edward glanced in Edric's direction and said, "That's their private affair; you shouldn't interfere."
Fiona shook off his hand. "He's my son, I can't just stand by."
Edward was a bit troubled. "Honey, how long are you going to meddle in your son's affairs? Do you really want to push them to divorce?"
Edward did not approve of Fiona's behavior.
But Fiona was used to being dominant at home and not in the best of health, so he always let her have her way and act recklessly.
"I just don't like Jenny," Fiona huffed, "She has no background and no skills, just a dance teacher; why should she marry my excellent son?"
Edward said, "But our son likes her, and besides, they're already married."
This made Fiona even angrier.
"That's not called marriage; they actually got married without my consent. Jenny must have incited our son; this shameless woman is too calculating!"
Edward was getting a headache. "Alright, stop causing a scene here; let's talk about it at home."
With that, despite Fiona's objections, he led her towards the front hall of the banquet.
In the rest area, after letting Edric massage her feet for a while, Jenny took her feet off Edric's lap.
"Okay, I'm not in pain anymore."
Edric still wasn't at ease. "Are you really okay?"
"Yes."
Jenny stood up and stretched her body.
"I'm really fine. Do you want to go to the hospital to check on Ursula?"
Upon hearing this, Edric felt somewhat helpless.
He put his arm around Jenny's shoulder. "Honey, don't be angry; you have to trust me; you're the only one in my heart."
Jenny's face showed no expression. "I know; I'm not angry because I'm numb."
Numb.
Because she had seen too much.
Edric felt a twinge in his heart, a hint of apology in his eyes.
"Honey, let's have a child as soon as possible. Once we have a child, my mom will fully accept you."
Upon hearing this, Jenny pulled away from his hand. "Edric, I don't want a child yet."
"Why?"
"I feel that in the current situation, we're not suitable to have a child."
Edric frowned slightly. "Why are we not suitable?"
Jenny said, "Because pregnant women need to maintain a happy mood, and my current state is not good. I'm afraid the child in my belly will be affected."
Looking at Jenny with a hint of fatigue in her big eyes, Edric felt even more apologetic.
"Honey, once we have a child, my mom will accept you completely."
Jenny chuckled lightly. "I feel that even if your mom accepts me in the future, she will only accept the child in my belly, not me. Once I give birth, will your mom still care about me?"
Upon hearing this, a hint of disapproval flashed in Edric's eyes.
"What nonsense, how could that be possible?"
Jenny said nothing more. "Alright, Uncle Caden's birthday banquet is about to start. Let's go."
Edric grabbed her. "Honey, do you have other reasons for not wanting to have a child with me?"
