Chapter 792 It Was Either Her or Me
Fiona choked, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Even if I sent her the photo, she shouldn't have posted it online. Does she ever consider you or the Bishop family? Someone who only thinks about their own interests like her can't be a hostess or a good wife for you!"
Edric looked at her. "Mom, Jenny did this because you pushed her."
Edric paused and then said, "Let me ask you, if you were Jenny and Grandma kept pushing women towards Dad like you do, what would you do? Would you be indifferent, or would you be even more ruthless?"
Hearing this, Fiona's eyes flickered, and she shouted, "How can you compare her to me? I'm different from her. I have a noble status, and your grandma is very satisfied with me as her daughter-in-law!"
Edric said, "I'm talking hypothetically. If you were Jenny and saw your mother-in-law constantly pushing women towards your husband, could you stay calm?"
Fiona choked, unable to respond to Edric's retort.
She was both angry and annoyed, clutching her heart and shouting, "My heart."
Ursula, seeing this, quickly stepped forward to support Fiona.
"Aunt Fiona, calm down, don't get too worked up, take care of your health."
Edward's face looked grim as he glared at Edric. "You brat, go get your mother her medicine quickly."
Edric said nothing and went upstairs to get Fiona's usual medication and brought it down for her.
"Mom, take your medicine."
Fiona, still furious, threw the medicine he handed over.
"I won't take it. If you don't listen to me and divorce Jenny, you might as well let me die!"
Fiona was threatened with her life.
Edric felt irritated, his face darkening.
"Mom, you've raised me for over twenty years, and I respect you, but please don't go too far. Otherwise, our mother-son relationship will be over!"
Hearing this, Fiona's breath hitched, a look of disbelief flashing in her eyes.
She probably didn't expect Edric to talk to her like this.
"Edric, how can you talk to me like that? What? Are you going to sever our mother-son relationship for an outsider?"
Edric's handsome face was stern. "Jenny is not an outsider. She married me and is part of the Bishop family."
Fiona angrily said, "Therefore, you're planning to abandon me for your wife?"
Edric said, "I just hope you won't make things difficult for her and that you can get along peacefully."
"Impossible! This house is either hers or mine, not both!" Fiona shouted.
Edric looked at her and said, after a long pause, "Mom, I won't divorce Jenny. Stop pushing me!"
Edric refused to divorce, so he chose Jenny.
He could abandon Fiona, but he wouldn't abandon Jenny.
Fiona understood this point and was truly angered by Edric this time.
She pointed at Edric, her lips trembling with anger, and then fainted.
"Honey!"
Edward quickly administered first aid while the servants fetched medicine and water, getting Fiona to take her medication.
Finally, Fiona slowly regained consciousness.
Edward breathed a sigh of relief, turned to look at Edric standing nearby, and slapped him directly.
"How could you say that to your mother? You're driving your mother to her grave over a woman. I've never laid a hand on you since you were a child, but it seems your mother and I have pampered you too much!"
Seeing Edward slap Edric, Fiona was both angry and heartbroken.
"Why did you hit him?"
Edward glanced at her. "It's all your spoiling. Look at what he's become, disrespectful and rebellious. I'm just teaching him how to behave!"
"Enough. Edric is a good child. He's just not thinking straight right now."
Fiona started again. "Edric, listen to us and divorce Jenny. She's really not good enough for you."
Edric gritted his teeth, feeling that Edward's slap had woken him up.
"Dad, Mom, I've said it before. If you want to live long, stop worrying about me. And I'll say it again, I won't divorce Jenny. If you don't want to lose me as a son, stop interfering in my marriage."
After speaking, Edric looked at Ursula. "And you, Ursula, I've made it clear. Stop having fantasies, and don't use the excuse of visiting the sick to stay at my house."
"You're a lady from a prestigious family. Staying at someone else's house like this is undignified. Think it over. I have things to do, so I'm leaving."
Edric's words were very straightforward.
Everyone's expressions changed.
Fiona was both angry and anxious. "Edric, stop right there, my heart!"
This time, Edric didn't stop.
He was extremely irritated.
He also realized that Fiona's heart wasn't as bad as she claimed. Just like Jenny said. It wasn't at a critical stage.
Fiona and Edward just knew he cared about them and kept testing his limits with excuses.
"It's all your fault. Why did you hit him? This only pushed him further away," Fiona blamed Edward.
Edward frowned deeply. "I was angry."
Fiona shouted, "Can't you talk to him properly?"
Edward barked, "Does talking to him properly work?"
Fiona continued, "Even if it doesn't, you can't hit him. Now look, you've driven our son away!"
Listening to Fiona and Edward's argument, Yvette also got angry.
"Edric really disappointed me. What kind of talk was that? Was he impying that Ursula is unwanted and desperate to marry him? Fine, we won't stay here any longer. Ursula, let's go."
Ursula, seeing the situation deteriorate, was anxious.
She didn't want to leave. "Aunt Yvette."
"Let's go. They don't welcome us." Yvette pulled her tightly and walked out.
Ursula, anxious, looked at Fiona. "Aunt Fiona!"
"Stop calling her. She can't make decisions!"
Yvette, without further ado, pulled Ursula away.
Fiona struggled to stand up from the sofa. "Yvette, don't go; my heart hurts!"
Edward quickly supported her. "Alright, let's go upstairs and rest."
"Get our son back!" Fiona said.
The Bishop family was in chaos again.
Outside, Edric drove away after leaving the house.
His phone rang. He glanced at it; it was the Bishop family butler calling.
A look of impatience flashed in Edric's eyes, but he answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Mr. Edric, Mr. Bishop wants you to come back quickly. Ms. Ford and her aunt have left, and Mrs. Bishop is very upset."
Ursula finally left.
Edric's tightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly. "Tell them I'm handling the news issue right now. I'll come back after I'm done."
