Chapter 947 I Won't Be Jealous of Mr. Gordon

"Probably because of my job," Johnnie replied.

Gabriella nodded, looking at him. "Yeah, being an assistant means you have to think of everything, even stuff the boss hasn't thought of, right?"

Johnnie nodded. "Exactly."

Gabriella thought of Aaron and Nora. "So, have you ever bought personal items for Mrs. Gordon?"

"No, I haven't," Johnnie said. "Noe used to handle everything for Mr. Gordon. Besides, Mr. Gordon likes to take care of Mrs. Gordon's needs himself."

Gabriella swallowed her cake and teased, "No wonder you're so considerate. Is it because Mr. Gordon sets the example?"

Johnnie smiled, admiration in his voice. "Mr. Gordon is the most impressive and charming man I've ever met. He's my role model."

Gabriella glanced at him. "Johnnie, don't you get jealous when I praise other men in front of you?"

Johnnie shrugged. "I might get jealous if it were anyone else, but not Mr. Gordon. He's way above me."

Gabriella was speechless. Johnnie was fiercely loyal. Would it be hard to make him betray Mr. Gordon? She loved a challenge.

Her lower abdomen throbbed, and she groaned, placing a hand on it.

Johnnie sat on the bed and said gently, "Alright, stop talking and get some sleep."

Gabriella hummed and lay down, hugging the hot water bottle. After drinking hot milk and holding the bottle, she felt warm and soon drifted off to sleep. But her discomfort made her sleep fitfully.

In the middle of the night, she felt the hot water bottle cool down and tossed it aside, turning to sleep on her side. Her abdomen felt warm, as if someone was gently massaging it. Her frown relaxed, and she fell into a deep sleep again.

The next morning, Gabriella woke up on her side. Groggily, she felt something warm against her abdomen. She touched it and found the hot water bottle. How was it still warm?

As her thoughts cleared, she remembered last night. She took the bottle out from under the covers. It must have been freshly filled. She vaguely recalled Johnnie massaging her abdomen instead of using the bottle.

Johnnie really was considerate and gentle. Gabriella smiled, set the bottle aside, and got out of bed. She wondered what Johnnie was doing. Had he already left?

She opened the door and saw Johnnie on the sofa, working. He was in cotton loungewear, the warm yellow light highlighting his handsome features. A strange feeling passed through her heart. Why did he look more appealing in loungewear?

Johnnie, about to take a sip of his coffee, noticed Gabriella standing in the doorway, lost in thought.  "Awake?" he asked, his voice soft.

Gabriella snapped out of it and walked over with a smile. "Busy with work? Didn't Aaron ask you to keep me company? Why not catch some more sleep?"

Johnnie replied, "Just keeping busy. Mr. Gordon treats me like a friend, so I want to repay his kindness."

Gabriella sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. "So, are you planning to work all day instead of spending time with me?"

"No, taking care of you is part of my job too," Johnnie said.

Gabriella raised an eyebrow, lifting his chin with her fingers. "So, you only see me as part of your job?"

Johnnie pulled her hand away. "Can you stop causing trouble?"

Gabriella pouted, her hand brushing over his Adam's apple. "Johnnie, I can't have sex this week. If you don't want to stay with me, I get it. I won't blame you."

Johnnie, a bit aroused, held her hand. "What are you talking about? I don't think that way."

Gabriella blinked. "So, will you stay with me?"

Johnnie said, "As long as Mr. Gordon doesn't give me other tasks, I'll stay."

Gabriella's eyes shifted. "But what will we do? I can't do much in my current state."

Johnnie looked at her. "Gabriella, when you were with your ex-boyfriends, did you only have sex and nothing else?"

Gabriella said, "Of course, we did other things like watching movies, shopping, traveling, but their ultimate goal was still sex."

Johnnie frowned. "What kind of boyfriends did you have?"

Gabriella's eyes sparkled. "So, if we dated and got married, would you be okay with a sexless marriage?"

Johnnie said, "Gabriella, don't think in absolutes. A sexless marriage would have issues because everyone has physical needs. Unless you love someone so much that they're irreplaceable, and due to external reasons, you're willing to have a sexless relationship."

"But in a relationship, I focus more on the spiritual connection. If that's strong, the relationship naturally progresses. We're human; if all we think about is sex, we're not much different from animals."

Gabriella stared at Johnnie, realizing his thoughts were more delicate than most men. He was objective, rational, and seemed like a good man.

"Stop daydreaming. Have you washed up?" Johnnie asked.

Gabriella snapped out of it. "Not yet."

"Go wash up," Johnnie said. "Do you want to go downstairs for breakfast, or should I go out and get it for you?"

He was considerate, knowing she might not want to move because of her abdomen pain. Gabriella touched her abdomen. It was still a bit uncomfortable, but manageable. However, she wanted to test Johnnie.

Her eyes twinkled. "Why don't you go buy breakfast for me? I heard there's a famous Velvet Sky Bistro in Youston. I suddenly crave their little cakes."

Velvet Sky Bistro was in the north part of the city, over half an hour's drive without traffic, and often had long lines. Would Johnnie go the extra mile to get breakfast for her early in the morning?
