Chapter 231 Frank Wants to Take Her Out to Dinner

Nora saw the displeasure on Aaron's face and laughed nervously, "Thanks, you should go home and get some rest."

Aaron glanced at her, "Are you trying to send me away?"

For some unknown reason, Nora felt like she was in the wrong and just wanted to go along with him. She ventured, "Well, why don't you come in for a glass of water?"

Aaron replied, "I'm really tired today. I could use a massage."

Nora was speechless. Was he hinting at staying overnight?

Her gaze swept over his long legs, and she thought about the treatments she hadn't given him that week, and so she nodded. "All right, go on upstairs."

Aaron was angry, and she needed to appease him. With satisfaction, Aaron said, "Come here, help me." He raised his arm with the air of a king resting in his domain.

Nora inwardly rolled her eyes, but naturally, her face showed none of it as she obediently went to help him up.

Aaron took the opportunity to wrap his arm around her, and they headed upstairs together.

As Aaron inhaled her scent, he thought of Baldwin and asked, "After you finished the acupuncture for someone, you didn't come back home. What were you doing there?"

Hearing this, Nora responded, "After I finished treating Baldwin's mother, she insisted on having me stay for dinner. It would have been rude to refuse, so I stayed."

A flicker of displeasure crossed Aaron's eyes. "Rude? You don't owe her anything."

Nora was taken aback, somewhat at a loss for words, "Isn't that just common courtesy? Baldwin and I are friends, and when his mother invited me to stay for dinner, how could I refuse?"

Aaron snorted, "Did you inform them you have three kids to take care of? Or is it that you just preferred dining at their place?"

Nora fell silent.

‘This man is always making a fuss, right?’ Nora wanted to retort, but then she considered that today, Aaron had been the one to pick up the three kids and that she was also wrong.

She resignedly lowered her banner. "Yes, I was wrong. Happy now?"

Once they reached the third floor, Aaron's irritation eased a bit, seeing that she had admitted her mistake. "And after dinner? What else did you do?"

Nora's gaze flickered, and a sense of guilt surged again. “Hollis asked me to hang around for a while,” she said, “They needed a fourth player for a card game, and she was so enthusiastic, I agreed."

Her voice got softer towards the end, and Aaron's presence next to her felt increasingly heavy.

Swallowing nervously, Nora quickly added, "Thomas, you wouldn't believe how lucky I was today. They lost ten thousand dollars to me."

Aaron was both annoyed and amused.

He pushed her against the wall and trapped her in his arms. "Really? Then how about we play a couple of games later, and if you manage to beat me, I won't be mad anymore." He could guess that it was probably Baldwin letting her win on purpose to win over Nora.

Nora, blissfully unaware, thought she was just on a lucky streak! His face was full of mockery as his dark eyes fixed on her intently. Seeing that he didn't believe her, Nora couldn't be bothered to argue.

She pushed against his sturdy chest, saying, "Fine, it was my fault today anyway, so you better go take a shower."

Aaron saw that she wasn't fighting back anymore and decided not to press the issue. He pinched her chin, "Let's shower together."

Nora's brows furrowed, and alarms rang in her mind. "No way! Thomas, I'm warning you, don't start anything."

Aaron chuckled, his long fingers caressing the smooth skin at her chin, "How am I causing trouble?"

"Did you forget? I'm still on my period." Aaron's lips curled into a smirk, his fingers gliding from her chin down her body.

"Nora, when I said let's shower together, I meant that you could scrub my back." His fingers casually traced along Nora's body.

Nora's heart raced, and she quickly pressed down his wandering hand, her face flushing hot. "So I was the one thinking dirty? Just go take your shower." She thought wrongly, but it was his fault for usually not being serious!

Aaron laughed softly, planted a kiss on her cherry lips, then wrapped her in his arms and headed to the master bathroom.

Once inside, Nora couldn't help but blush as the man before her, revealed his toned and attractive physique. Facing him always seemed to make her face turn redder. Aaron caught sight of her discomfort, and a hint of amusement flickered in his eyes.

After the shower, he stood up from the bathtub and extended his arms for her to wrap him in a white towel. Obediently, Nora secured the towel around his waist.

Aaron immediately pulled her close, his voice seductive, "Nora, do you want me to help you wash up?"

Heat radiated from his body. Nora swallowed nervously and pushed against his chest, "No, I can wash myself."

"No, I think it's only fair I offer."

Nora was speechless, pushing harder against him, "Get out already!"

Aaron chuckled lowly. "All right, then. I'll wait for you in bed." His smile was wicked with his tall frame clad only in a towel, exuding appeal from every inch.

Nora unconsciously swallowed again, silently cursing in her mind. Too bad she was on her period!

The next day, Nora and others went about their usual routine of work and school.

Before leaving, Aaron asked, "Are you going to stick around for dinner and cards today?" His expression was unreadable, but Nora detected a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Finding it slightly amusing, she smoothed out her hair, "I wouldn't dare."

Aaron was satisfied. He gently stroked her hair and let her get into Frederick's car. Nora felt that her freedom had disappeared. Yet somehow, she didn't seem to resent it too much. On the contrary, she felt a bit of warmth in her heart!

Arriving at the laboratory, she was busy all morning. When noon came, she received a call.

"This is Frank. Are you free for lunch? I'd like to treat you to a meal." Frank wanted to take her out to lunch.

Nora paused for a couple of seconds, her eyes betraying a flicker of interest. "So, it's you. What made you suddenly think of inviting me out? Is there something you need?"

Frank chuckled from the other end: "There is a little favor I was hoping you could help with. Will you grace me with your company?"

Nora held the phone, deep in thought. 'He and she didn't cross paths often, so why would he invite her out of the blue? Might as well see what he's up to. After all, Frank is Allen's son. Maybe from him, she could get a lead on why her mother replaced her father in jail!'

With that in mind, Nora readily agreed, "Sure, send me the address."

"You got it!"

After hanging up, Nora received a message from Frank.

[Divine Fragrance Club, Room 308. Don't be a no-show.]

After reading the message, Nora looked up the club's location.

The club was situated in the eastern suburbs.
