Chapter 727 He will Appear Tomorrow
"Dr. Smith, has Joseph's hypnosis been undone?" Richard asked.
"Yes." Nora nodded.
Richard felt relieved but quickly inquired, "What about the poison in his body?"
"It is still in his body." Nora shook her head.
Richard's hope was dashed, his expression darkening.
Listening to their conversation, Joseph looked puzzled. "Richard, Dr. Smith, what are you talking about, hypnosis and poison?"
At this point, Richard decided not to hide anything from him.
"Joseph, listen to me. You were targeted after disappearing in the water."
Richard briefly explained the situation.
Joseph listened with a pounding heart.
Thinking about the voices in his mind, things started to make sense.
No wonder he had been trying to sabotage Howard and Evella's relationship. It was because he had been hypnotized and poisoned!
Thinking about the severe poison in his body, Joseph's face turned slightly pale.
"Dr. Smith, How much longer have I got?"
Nora pursed her lips. "I won't let you die, and I will make the antidote as soon as possible."
Joseph tugged at his lips. "Those people are so cunning, and they probably won't let me live for long, so the poison in my body is incurable, right?"
Having lived in Achilia for a long time, Joseph had seen the darkness of the upper society.
Those people sent assassins to approach him with no intention of letting him live.
Once he lost his usefulness, they would kill him!
"Joseph, you have to trust Dr. Smith. She is a great doctor and will surely be able to create the antidote," Richard, fearing Joseph would lose confidence, quickly reassured him.
Joseph instinctively glanced at Nora, who gave a slight smile. "I can't guarantee anything, but I will do my best."
Doctors never made absolute guarantees.
Moreover, even a great doctor might not be able to create such a severe poison.
Joseph knew this well but didn't want to worry them, so he suppressed the heaviness in his heart and nodded slightly to Nora.
"Thank you, Dr. Smith."
Nora shook her head, about to say something, when she saw Joseph's face change drastically.
He clutched his chest, his eyes starting to redden, his face alternating between pale and blue with pain.
Richard was startled and moved to support him. "Joseph, what's wrong?"
"Don't touch me!"
Joseph's eyes were bloodshot as he forcefully pushed Richard away.
Richard staggered backward, almost falling.
Luckily, Howard caught him in time.
"Richard."
Joseph looked at him with difficulty, his bloodshot eyes filled with apology and uncontrollable agitation.
Nora, seeing Joseph like this, knew something was wrong.
"Howard, quickly get the medicine Doctor Brandon prescribed for him."
"Okay."
Howard quickly took out a bottle of pills and prepared to give Joseph two pills.
"Don't come to me. I'm afraid of hurting you!"
Joseph waved his hands, growling lowly.
He was now filled with a force that wanted to strike, unable to control himself!
Seeing Howard unable to approach Joseph, Nora paused for a moment. She circled behind Joseph, swiftly pulled out a silver needle, and tried to prick Joseph's neck.
But Joseph reacted swiftly, turning around with eyes fixed on Nora.
Then, like a trapped beast, he grabbed Nora's wrist, snatched the silver needle from her hand, and aimed to stab her.
Nora's pupils constricted, hearing Howard and Richard's shouts.
"Nora."
"Joseph, no!"
At that moment, a figure moved like lightning behind Joseph.
Just as the silver needle was about to fall from Joseph's hand, he forcefully held his wrist.
Joseph winced in pain, and the silver needle dropped from his hand instantly.
He struck at Joseph's neck.
Joseph grunted, his body stiffened, then slowly his head drooped, and he fainted.
Nora, still in shock, looked at Aaron, who had suddenly appeared, her heart gradually calming down.
"Aaron, why are you here?"
The person who arrived was Aaron and Frederick.
Before Frederick could act, Aaron had already rushed forward ahead of him.
"I called you, but you didn't answer. I heard you were at the hospital, so I came to find you."
Mainly because he heard there were some assassins lurking around, fearing for Nora's safety, he came to see the situation.
Fortunately, he arrived in time.
Aaron glanced at the unconscious Joseph, his gaze cold, as he prepared to let go of Joseph, Richard and Howard had already stepped forward and taken the unconscious Joseph from him.
"Nora, are you okay?" Howard asked with concern.
"I'm fine."
Nora picked up the silver needle from the ground and straightened her clothes.
"Dr. Smith, I'm sorry, Joseph's behavior just now wasn't his true self," Richard apologized.
"I got it, I'm fine. I won't blame him." Nora smiled reassuringly.
Aaron furrowed his brows and reached out to embrace Nora. "What's going on here?"
"Joseph was hypnotized and poisoned. Doctor Brandon undid the hypnosis for him, but there were some side effects," Nora explained briefly.
Aaron fell silent for a moment and then asked, "Has he gone insane?"
Nora was speechless. "Don't talk nonsense. He's just a bit manic."
Aaron remained silent.
If he hadn't arrived in time, Nora would have been injured by this Joseph!
"Dr. Smith, what do we do now?" Richard, supporting Joseph, was getting anxious.
Nora was about to speak when Joseph's phone in his pocket rang.
Richard took it out and glanced at it, his expression slightly tense.
The call was anonymous, but Richard had a feeling it might be Jerry trying to contact Joseph.
Looking at the unconscious Joseph, he hesitated to answer.
"Richard, who's calling?" Howard, seeing Richard's serious expression, inquired.
"It might be the assassin's calling."
Richard's words made everyone present tense up a bit.
Since they knew someone was plotting against Joseph, they certainly didn't want to alert them so soon.
They needed to expose the person behind it and not let Joseph suffer in vain.
"I'll take it."
Aaron spoke up, taking the phone from Richard and answering it.
Jerry's tone was clearly impatient.
"Where are you? Why did it take you so long to answer the phone?"
Aaron coughed twice, deliberately lowering his voice.
"I'm at the hospital, probably caught a cold. My throat is so uncomfortable, so I came to see a doctor."
Jerry paused. "Are you seeing a doctor?"
There was a hint of suspicion in Jerry's tone, but Aaron remained composed, pretending to be Joseph.
"What's up?"
With that, Aaron coughed twice again.
Jerry fell silent for a moment and said, "The boss's plane is tomorrow afternoon, arriving here at nine in the evening. He wants to see you."
The boss!
The person behind the scenes would appear tomorrow night!
Aaron's hazel eyes narrowed. "I got it."
