Chapter 1100 Wesley and I Made Up
Hearing Samantha's soft voice, Wesley's brain hit the brakes. "It's cool, I get it."
He knew he botched things up big time. Anyone else would probably hate his guts after what he pulled. But Samantha, without any of that rich-girl attitude, was the first to say sorry. He really dug that about her.
"But I've already talked to them. They won't use their power to mess with anyone or our relationship anymore," Samantha said.
Wesley's heart did a little flip, and he cautiously asked, "Your family is cool with us being together?"
Samantha didn't give a straight answer. Instead, she asked, "What about you? What do you think now? Do you still want to date me?"
'Heck yeah,' Wesley almost blurted out, but thinking of Alfred, he hesitated and said, "Samantha, you and Alfred..."
Samantha thought of Alfred's confession, and her eyes flickered. She gripped her phone tightly, taking a breath against the cold wind blowing from the lake.
"Wesley, trust me. There's nothing between Alfred and me. I only see him as a friend. I won't let him crash at my place anymore." Right now, Samantha just wanted to follow her heart. She wasn't the type to play around; once she liked Wesley, she was all in.
Hearing this, Wesley felt a wave of relief. He had always liked her, but the rumors about him being a gold digger had stung his pride. "Samantha, I don't want to break up. Let's go public with our relationship."
Samantha's face lit up. "Really?"
Wesley nodded. "Yeah, I owe you an apology. I was being narrow-minded, misunderstanding you and Alfred, and I got mad at you. When the news broke this morning, I didn't talk to you right away, which made everything worse. Samantha, I'm sorry. I'm not perfect. I have a lot of flaws, but I really like you. Can you accept an imperfect me?"
Samantha smiled, feeling his sincerity. "Wesley, I have flaws too. When you like someone, you accept all of them. Wesley, I like you, so I'll accept all of you."
Wesley was over the moon. "Alright, let's go public! I'll have my team put out a statement soon."
"Okay." They both agreed.
Wesley asked, "Samantha, where are you now?"
"Just getting some fresh air. I was feeling really down earlier," Samantha said shyly.
Wesley looked apologetic. "I'm sorry, that's on me."
"It's okay, it's all behind us. Let's look forward."
"Yeah, go grab something to eat. I'll see you at school after lunch."
"Okay." Samantha hung up, feeling a lot better.
Ryan walked up, noticing her change in mood. "Hey, Samantha, you're looking pretty chipper now. Spill the beans, what happened?"
Samantha grinned. "Wesley and I made up. We're going public with our relationship. He's gonna have his team announce it soon."
Ryan's smile froze, and he gave her a look. "Seriously, Samantha? You stood out in the wind for ages, and just like that, you made up with him?"
Samantha's eyes sparkled as she playfully glared at Ryan. "I'm totally clear-headed now. Let's roll, I need to grab some grub and head to school this afternoon."
She couldn't wait for the afternoon. With all the misunderstandings cleared up, things with Wesley were bound to get better.
The wind from the lake blew, bringing a hint of moisture. It wasn't cold, but it was strong, and Samantha hugged herself against it.
Ryan looked at her like she was nuts but still took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders. He sighed, "How did you guys make up so fast? Spill it, what did Wesley say to make you forgive him so quick? Teach me your ways."
Samantha rolled her eyes. "Stop being so nosy. Go get yourself a girlfriend. With real experience, you'll get it."
Ryan gave her a side-eye. "You've already snagged someone. Who am I supposed to date?"
Samantha laughed and playfully smacked him. "Keep talking like that, and you'll never get a wife."
Just then, a girl stormed over and blocked their path. Seeing them banter, she chucked a bottle of water at Samantha. The move was so quick, and both Samantha and Ryan were too busy chatting to notice. They could only watch as the bottle flew towards Samantha.
Ryan instinctively moved to shield Samantha, but Alfred was quicker, pulling her into his arms. With a thud, the bottle smacked Alfred's back.
Samantha instinctively shut her eyes, her heart racing. Smelling Alfred's familiar scent, she slowly opened her eyes to see his concerned gaze. At the critical moment, it was Alfred who had her back.
"You shameless bitch, with so many guys, why do you still cling to Wesley?" The girl's voice was full of venom; clearly, she was a die-hard Wesley fan.
Alfred shielded Samantha behind him, his gaze cold and fixed on the girl. His presence was intimidating, but Wesley's fan was probably too obsessed to care. She kept cursing and started picking up small stones to throw at him.
Alfred's eyes turned icy as he swatted away the stones and strode towards her. Before she could react, he grabbed her by the throat. "Try cursing her again, and I’ll make sure you never speak another word."
The girl gasped for breath but kept cursing.
Alfred's grip tightened, his gaze growing colder.
The girl felt the suffocating grip and fear filled her eyes. She slapped at Alfred's hand, desperately trying to breathe.
"Alfred, let her go," Samantha and Ryan walked over, and Samantha asked Alfred to release the girl.
Alfred loosened his grip slightly. "Still wanna curse?"
Seeing Samantha, the girl's eyes filled with intense hostility. "You two..."
Before she could finish, Alfred tightened his grip again, lifting her off the ground. Her feet dangled, and terror filled her eyes. The lack of air made her feel the fear of impending death.
After a moment, she managed to choke out, "No, I won't curse anymore."
Alfred coldly released her, and she fell to the ground, coughing and gasping for air.
"Apologize to her," Alfred demanded coldly.
