Chapter 857 Why so Protective
Nora adjusted her hair, then took Aaron's hand, softening her tone. "Aaron, let's not get into anything else right now. I think his suggestion makes a lot of sense. If the king steps in, we won't have to worry about Hugo refusing to release Millie."
Aaron looked at her, a hint of danger in his brown eyes. Whose side was Nora on? He wanted to get angry, but Nora's small hand was tightly holding his, looking all sweet and pleasing. In the end, he suppressed his anger and said, "The current situation doesn't need the king's intervention. Millie doesn't seem eager to come back with us, and besides, isn't James also making an effort?"
Nora quickly added, "But having an extra layer of security is good."
Aaron replied, "Are you sure it's security?"
Nora understood what he meant. Aaron was afraid she would become a pawn in the royal power struggle. She smiled sweetly and said softly, "Don't worry. You are here with me. I believe you'll protect me."
Nora's words greatly satisfied Aaron's ego. His expression softened a bit, and he held her small hand in return, giving a nonchalant "hmm" as a sign of agreement. Nora secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Pleasing Aaron was really a tough job.
"Mateo, that's enough. Let's do as you said."
Mateo had been watching Aaron and Nora's interaction the whole time, a hint of envy and sadness flashing in his eyes, along with jealousy towards Aaron. Mateo was really jealous of Aaron. Aaron could make Nora soften her stance and acknowledge his worth. Suppressing his thoughts, Mateo smiled and said, "Nora, remember, you're taking advantage of me."
Nora asked, "How am I taking advantage of you?"
Mateo replied, "I'm publicly claiming that you cured my illness. Isn't that helpful to you?"
Nora raised an eyebrow and said, "Being foolish isn't a big deal. How about I make you foolish first and then cure you? That way, it wouldn't be a lie."
Mateo laughed. "Nora, you're still as playful and cute as ever."
Nora rolled her eyes at him. "Stop joking. Tell me, when will you talk to your father?"
Mateo's smile faded a bit. "I think you can see him tomorrow."
Nora and Aaron exchanged a glance, having no objections. After a moment of silence, Aaron stood up and said, "Alright, if there's nothing else, we'll head back first."
"Nora, don't you want to stay a bit longer to go over the lines?" Mateo asked.
Nora felt confused. "What lines do we need to go over?"
Mateo replied, "Like how you cured me, when you cured me, and..."
"Just take my phone number. If there's anything, tell me over the phone."
Aaron didn't want to stay any longer. He interrupted Mateo and left with Nora. Mateo gritted his teeth. Why was Aaron so protective?
Nora and Aaron didn't go back to Hugo's place but returned to the hotel. After all, they could mess around more freely in the hotel than at Hugo's house.
When Aisha called, the two were messing around with each other.
"Aaron, my phone."
Nora lay beneath Aaron, her eyes seductive, her body covered in a sheen of sweat. Aaron kissed the corner of her lips, wrapped her in the blanket, then stretched out his long arm to grab the phone and answered the call.
"Mrs. Rochet."
Aisha was momentarily stunned, then said, "Is this Mr. Gordon?"
"It's me. What's up?" Aaron asked.
"Nothing major, just wondering when you two are coming back. We're about to start dinner," Aisha said with a smile.
"We won't be disturbing you tonight. Please let Mrs. Rochet and Millie know that we'll visit her tomorrow."
"Alright then. You two take care. Don't worry about Millie."
"Okay, thank you, Mrs. Rochet."
Aaron hung up the phone, tossed it aside, and pressed Nora down again. His intense kisses came like a storm, as if he wanted to devour her. Nora felt Aaron's passion and responded with her eyes closed.
As they reached a climax, Aaron sighed, his voice hoarse. "Honey, you're mine."
Nora's eyes were filled with desire but still held some clarity. "Honey, are you jealous again?"
Aaron kissed her sensitive earlobe, his voice low and seductive. "I'm not jealous. I'm just thirsty for you."
Nora's body softened, and she retaliated by lightly biting his earlobe. "I'm all yours."
Aaron's breath hitched, his brown eyes growing darker. "Honey, no one can snatch you away from my side!"
Nora was taken aback by his protectiveness.
At Hugo's house, after Aisha hung up, she told Hugo that Aaron and Nora wouldn't be coming tonight. Millie heard this and pouted, about to cry.
"Mommy and Daddy have already gone back, haven't they? They don't want Millie anymore?"
Seeing this, Aisha quickly squatted down to comfort her. "Millie, don't cry. They haven't gone back. They asked me to tell you to eat well and sleep well. They'll come to see you tomorrow."
"Really?" Millie asked with teary eyes.
"Really, I swear," Aisha said.
Millie finally smiled through her tears. Hugo glanced at the time and said, "Let's start dinner."
"Okay, Millie, let's go eat."
Aisha picked up Millie and went to the dining room, instructing the servants to serve the meal. Jasmine, seeing Aisha's special attention to Millie, was momentarily stunned and quickly followed.
In her haste, Jasmine tripped and almost fell. James caught her just in time. Startled, she looked back at James, wanting to thank him. But James had already let go of her hand and didn't look at her, striding to the dining room and sitting at the table. Jasmine watched him, swallowing her thanks. It seemed James's action was just a casual help, not special attention to her. Jasmine straightened her clothes and followed.
At the dining table, Hugo sat at the head, followed by Aisha, with Millie next to her and James across from them. Jasmine hesitated for a moment and sat next to James. The servants brought the dishes to the table one by one. Hugo glanced at James, seeing him sitting quietly, without the hostility he had when he first arrived. Hugo kept a stern face and said nothing. Although Hugo wanted to throw James out, considering Aaron and Nora, he could only think about it. As long as James behaved and didn't try to take Millie away, Hugo wouldn't hold his past actions against him for now.
"Let's eat."
With Hugo's words, they started eating. Today, Aisha was taking care of Millie during the meal, listening to her childish talk and occasionally chiming in. As Aisha fed Millie, she said to Hugo, "Millie is so cute. I hope our future child will be just as cute."
Hugo looked at Millie's adorable face and smiled. "Definitely. Our genes aren't bad either."
"That's true," Aisha said. "You're handsome, and I'm beautiful. There's no reason our child would be ugly."
Hugo nodded and said, "Indeed. I'm talented, and you're virtuous. Our child's genes will definitely be excellent."
Aisha laughed and teased, "Honey, are we complimenting each other?"
Hugo replied, "It's clearly self-praise."
