Chapter 773 You Offended My Wife
Jenny's mind was in chaos.
She took a deep breath and said, "Forget it; I'll listen to you guys."
Becky said, "That's right, the interactions between women are often filled with drama and complexity. Let's go watch the show!"
At this moment, in the banquet hall.
Edric was called away by Aaron.
Ursula subconsciously wanted to follow Edric.
Aaron's cold gaze swept over her. "We men are discussing matters; why does a woman like you follow along?"
Ursula could sense Aaron's dislike towards her and looked at Edric somewhat aggrievedly.
"Sorry, Edric, I didn't mean anything else; I don't know many people here either. Aunt Fiona asked me to follow you, so..."
"Ms. Ford, how old are you this year?" Aaron interrupted Ursula and asked coldly.
"I..."
"I think you shouldn't be a crybaby."
Aaron stared at her, "Are you devoid of autonomous cogitation, complying unquestioningly with the directives of your elders?"
Ursula's face changed color as she was choked.
She knew that Aaron and Edric were the best friends.
Edric was a man who knew how to please girls.
He wouldn't easily get angry.
Even if he didn't like it, Edric's words and actions were gentlemanly.
Ursula thought Aaron would be the same.
But she didn't expect Aaron to be so indifferent towards women!
Seeing her almost in tears, Edric cleared his throat, "Ursula, I need to talk to Aaron about something; you feel free to wander around."
Aaron glanced at him, his gaze cold.
'Edric was really asking for trouble.'
'Speaking so kindly to Ursula, the woman Fiona had pushed onto him.'
'He was giving her motives.'
With a raised hand, Aaron grabbed the back of his collar and walked away.
Edric was caught off guard and almost twisted his ankle.
That wasn't the point.
The point was that Aaron had a halo around him.
Many guests were watching.
Aaron was now dragging Edric away like a little chick; it was really embarrassing!
When Aaron dragged him to a corner, Edric quickly broke free from Aaron's grip, straightened his clothes, and gritted his teeth.
"Mr. Gordon, I am, after all, the heir of the Bishop family, a person of status. Can you respect me a little? Are you treating me like your son?"
Aaron glared at him. "Don't compare yourself to my son; my son is much more sensible than you."
Edric choked. "Mr. Gordon, where did I offend you?"
Aaron said, "You didn't offend me; you offended my wife."
Edric was speechless. "I knew it, Aaron, you're a man, you should understand my dilemma, caught between my mother and my wife, it's really unbearable."
Aaron coldly glared at him. "This is not the time to talk about parental love, if Aunt Fiona pushes a woman onto you, it's her fault, you shouldn't just let it happen."
Edric sighed, "I didn't just let it happen; I've already talked to my mom. But she's not feeling well; she was hospitalized a while back because I was rude to her, and she got so angry. The doctor warned that my mom has a weak heart, she needs to rest well, can't be stressed."
Aaron nodded. "So you can only let your wife be stressed. Aren't you afraid of stressing her to the point of divorcing you?"
Edric frowned. "Jenny is not that kind of woman; she is understanding, she knows my limits, and I won't do anything with other women."
Aaron looked at him. "Edric, don't deceive yourself. You should understand women better than me. Women can sometimes sweat the small stuff. Besides, you've made this kind of mistake before. Aren't you afraid she'll start suspecting things, and eventually, your relationship will wear thin?"
Edric felt a headache coming on; he rubbed his temples irritably.
"I'm trying to have a child with Jenny, hoping that after we have a child, my mom can fully accept her for giving birth to the Bishop family's bloodline."
Aaron remained silent; this path was the right one, but the relationships within the Bishop family were like walking on a tightrope.
Maybe one day, they would erupt into a big battle and then completely fall apart.
Just as he was about to speak, a sudden exclamation rang out in the center of the banquet hall.
The two looked over and saw two women arguing, then starting to fight.
Edric hadn't paid much attention at first, but when he saw the attire of one of the women, he squinted.
At this moment, a woman in a red evening gown was being slapped and her hair pulled by the other.
This person seemed to be Ursula.
Edric frowned and quickly walked in their direction.
Aaron followed suit.
In the center of the banquet hall, Willow grabbed Ursula's hair and slapped her.
Willow was cursing, "Where did this slut come from, daring to seduce my partner right in front of me? Have you gone crazy for men!"
Ursula, in pain and anger, shouted, "I didn't let go of me!"
"You dare to argue; I saw it with my own eyes, you vixen, shameless!"
Willow directly slapped Ursula's surgically altered nose, then pushed her away.
Ursula cried out in pain, covering her nose and glaring tearfully at Willow.
"You lunatic, you're insane!"
Willow coldly smiled, dusting off non-existent dirt on her body.
"Bitch, try cursing one more time; you'll regret it!"
"You!"
Not far away, Edric walked over quickly.
"Ursula, what's going on?"
Seeing him, Ursula let go of her nose and rushed towards him.
"Edric, this crazy woman is bullying me!"
Seeing her about to throw herself into Edric's arms, Aaron, who had followed, quickly pulled Edric to his side.
Ursula missed her target and fell heavily to the ground.
Ursula let out a cry of pain, then turned around, tears in her eyes as she looked at Edric.
"Edric, why are you avoiding me? It hurts so much."
Edric had intended to help Ursula up, but when he saw her face, he paused, his brows furrowing.
"Ursula, your nose."
At this moment, Ursula's surgically altered nose had been deformed by the beating and fall, looking somewhat comical.
Ursula touched her nose, realizing the situation, her face turned pale.
She quickly covered her nose, crying out in anger and pain, looking for Yvette.
"Aunt Yvette, Aunt Fiona, where are you!"
Several noblewomen who were chatting at one end of the banquet hall heard the commotion and came over to watch.
Upon hearing Ursula's voice, Fiona and Yvette were slightly taken aback.
"It sounds like Ursula's voice."
"Quick, let's go see."
The noblewomen followed the two to the scene of the incident.
When they saw Ursula struggling to get up from the ground, Yvette was shocked.
"Ursula, what's wrong?"
