Chapter 940 So Naive

"He doesn't want to join us."

Nora nudged Aaron. "Aaron, go handle your stuff."

"Okay."

Aaron glanced at Gabriella. "Don't shop too long and wear out my wife, alright?"

Gabriella pouted. "Nora, look at Mr. Gordon, so bossy."

Nora smiled. "Let's go."

Aaron asked, "Need a ride?"

"No, you go ahead."

Aaron had work at the company and it was getting late, so he didn't stick around.

"Alright, I'm off."

"Okay."

After he left, Gabriella said, "Nora, let's go. I want to get my hair done first."

"Sure."

Nora didn't mind and said goodbye to Carter.

Seeing Samantha looking at her, Nora asked, "Samantha, where's Billy?"

"Billy's upstairs," Samantha replied.

"Okay, be good at home."

Samantha blinked. "Alright, I didn't want to go shopping anyway."

Nora was speechless. It seemed Samantha wanted to go shopping with her!

Nora laughed and patted Samantha's head. "I'll bring back your favorite cake, okay?"

Samantha brightened up. "Okay."

Upstairs, Billy was waiting for news from Alex. He heard their chat and looked out the window at the garden, frowning. Nora was too trusting of Gabriella.

A notification sounded from the computer. Billy quickly checked. It was a video call from Alex.

He opened it to see Alex looking serious. "Billy, something's off about Gabriella."

Billy perked up. "I knew it! Who is she really?"

Alex said, "Remember Suzy?"

Billy thought for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, she's Grandparents' adopted daughter."

"Gabriella is Suzy's biological sister," Alex said.

Billy's eyes widened. "No way! Suzy is Grandparents' adopted daughter. How does she have a sister?"

"The sisters were separated and adopted by different families when they were young."

Alex continued, "Suzy was adopted by Grandparents, and Gabriella by her current parents."

Billy frowned. "Suzy wasn't a good person. What about Gabriella? She's Suzy's sister, and she's been awfully close to Dad and Mom lately. Is it just a coincidence, or is she up to something?

Alex's face was stern. "We don't know her intentions yet. Billy, you need to tell Dad and Mom to be cautious of Gabriella."

Billy nodded. "Got it."

Outside, Frederick drove Nora and Gabriella away from the villa. Nora, following Jenny's recommendation, went to a high-end private styling studio.

The receptionist asked Gabriella what kind of hairstyle she wanted.

Gabriella glanced at Nora. "The same as hers."

Nora's hair hadn't been styled.

The receptionist confirmed with Gabriella again.

"Yes, I'm originally from Chrisland, naturally have black hair. I've been perming it for a long time and got tired of it. A new style would be nice," Gabriella said.

The receptionist understood and directed Gabriella to wash her hair first.

Nora, having nothing else to do, decided to wash her hair too.

Gabriella's perm would take longer.

After washing and drying her hair, Nora sat in a chair, playing on her phone while waiting for Gabriella to finish.

A message popped up from Billy.

Billy: [Mom, what are you doing?]

Nora blinked. Billy rarely messaged her. Was he upset like Samantha because she didn't take him shopping?

Nora: [I'm with Gabriella getting her hair done.]

Soon, Billy called. Nora stepped outside to answer.

"What's up, Billy? Do you want me to bring you something?"

"No, Mom. Is anyone around you?"

Nora looked around. "No, why?"

"Is Gabriella not with you?" Billy asked cautiously.

"She's getting her hair done. I'm outside taking your call."

Nora was curious. "What's going on, Billy?"

"Mom, listen. Gabriella isn't simple. Alex checked her background. She's Suzy's sister."

Nora's smile froze, shock in her eyes. "Suzy's sister? Her biological sister?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure?"

"Mom, Alex's info is solid."

Nora frowned. She didn't expect this. How did Suzy's sister suddenly appear? And Gabriella was so warm to her. She and Suzy were like oil and water. If Gabriella was really Suzy's sister, why was she so friendly?

"Billy, why did you check on her?"

Billy said, "I noticed she seemed interested in Dad, so I talked to Alex. He suggested checking her background, and we found this out."

Sometimes, kids see things adults miss. Did Gabriella have thoughts about Aaron? Nora had suspected it, but Gabriella hid it well. She acted so carefree and enthusiastic that any suspicion Nora had was quickly dispelled.

Thinking about all her interactions with Gabriella, Nora pursed her lips. Gabriella seemed quite scheming. Was she trying to get close to drive a wedge between her and Aaron?

"Mom, you're too kind. Alex asked me to tell you to be cautious," Billy said.

Alright, in her kids' eyes, she was probably too naive. Nora felt a bit embarrassed. "Got it, I'll be careful."

"Okay, I'll hang up now."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Nora glanced at Gabriella in front of the mirror. The receptionist was trimming Gabriella's hair. No wonder she felt Gabriella looked a lot like Suzy at first glance. Gabriella was Suzy's sister!

Nora was silent for a moment, then dialed Aaron's number. She needed to tell him too.

The call connected quickly.

"Hello?" Aaron's voice was gentle.

"Aaron, can you talk now? I need to tell you something," Nora asked.

"Hold on." Aaron was in a meeting. He signaled for a pause and walked out. "Okay, go ahead."

"Billy just called. They found out something," Nora said.

"What is it?"

"Alex checked Gabriella's background. She's Suzy Hamilton's sister."
