Chapter 1062 Not Make It Public
Samantha took a sip of the soup and said, "Not many, what's up?"
Wesley furrowed his brows but kept quiet. "Nothing, just asking. Eat up, the food's getting cold."
She replied, "Alright."
At the slightly ajar door, Elijah gripped the doorknob tightly, a hint of bitterness flashing in her eyes. She had heard outside that Wesley and Robert had a fight, so she rushed over. But she didn't expect to hear Wesley confessing to Samantha.
Elijah thought, 'How could Wesley confess to Samantha? And they've already progressed to kissing. Is he really going to be with her? Why does he like her? Just earlier at school, I had talked to her so much, but she doesn't pay attention at all. Does she really want to ruin his future? Or does she not care about it because as long as he marries her, he would become the son-in-law of the Gordon Family, then he wouldn't need to sing and could enjoy endless wealth and glory?'
A trace of hatred flashed in Elijah's eyes. 'Why is God so unfair? Why divide people into different classes? And I am in the lowest class, not even having the right to love someone.'
Inside the private room, Samantha and Wesley ate quietly.
After the initial excitement, Samantha slowly calmed down. Looking at Wesley's handsome profile, she thought of a realistic problem. 'Now that we have confessed to each other, should we make our relationship public?'
Samantha suddenly remembered what Elijah had said. Wesley had many female fans, and once their relationship was made public, it would mean unemployment for him.
As a singer who loved his career, Wesley would definitely not want to lose countless fans. So, it was better not to make their relationship public. If not public, then it would have to be a secret relationship. She suddenly found it a bit thrilling.
Samantha ate absentmindedly, with some sauce on her lips.
Wesley, almost done eating, noticed the smudge at the corner of her mouth and a hint of a smile flashed in his eyes. He took a few napkins and leaned over to wipe it off for her.
Wesley's sudden approach startled Samantha. He chuckled softly and gently wiped the corner of her mouth. "What are you thinking about, so lost in thought?"
Hearing Wesley's gentle tone, Samantha, thinking about his future, blurted out, "Wesley, let's not make our relationship public for now."
A young woman's scent was always sweet. Wesley, leaning closer, was a bit distracted by Samantha's unique fragrance.
Hearing her words, his smile froze, and a hint of curiosity flashed in his eyes. "Not make our relationship public? Why, don't you want to have an open and honest relationship with me?"
Samantha shook her head. "No, it's because you're a singer with many female fans. If they find out you're in a relationship, you'll lose countless fans. I don't want to see that happen."
She honestly expressed her concerns.
Wesley looked at Samantha steadily but misunderstood her meaning. He thought, 'Samantha doesn't want to make our relationship public, not because I will lose countless fans, but because she has many male friends and is still young, not wanting to settle down yet, right? She agrees to date me because I confessed first, and since she has never been in a relationship, she wants to try it out.'
For a moment, Wesley felt uncomfortable.
"What's up, Wesley? You wanna go public with our relationship?" Samantha asked, noticing his unhappy face.
Wesley, being all proud and stuff, didn't wanna spill his true feelings. He didn't want Samantha thinking he was some drama king. He forced a smile. "Nah, I respect your call."
'Fine, whatever. I like her, so if she wants to keep it on the down-low, I'll roll with it. If she ever gets bored and wants to split, I'll deal with it.' Wesley mentally braced himself. But yeah, the initial thrill of confessing kinda took a hit.
"I'm stuffed." Samantha patted her belly and grinned.
"Cool, I'll go settle the bill." Wesley grabbed his stuff and stood up.
"No need, Wesley. Just put today's meal on my tab." Samantha smiled.
Putting it on her tab meant Ryan wouldn't charge her. Even though her family was loaded, Samantha was pretty thrifty. She saved where she could and took small perks when possible. After all, Ryan wasn't hurting for cash.
That's what Samantha thought, but Wesley felt a bit off hearing it. He didn't want folks thinking he was mooching off a girl.
"No way, I said I'd treat today. How can I put it on your tab?" Wesley insisted.
Samantha said, "Oh, come on, why be so formal with me?"
"I insist." Wesley said, striding out of the private room to pay the bill first.
Samantha opened her mouth but seeing Wesley's firm attitude, she gave up.
Wesley was a bit stubborn. But whatever, he was her idol, so everything was cool.
At the cashier, Wesley flashed his membership card and paid the bill. Seeing Samantha follow, he smiled at her. "Alright, let's roll."
Samantha nodded, and they walked to the car.
At that moment, Elijah was waiting for them in the car.
Samantha got in and greeted her, "Elijah."
Elijah was glued to her phone. Hearing the greeting, she glanced at Samantha, her gaze a bit cold. "The argument you had with Robert just made the news."
Hearing this, Samantha was stunned and quickly pulled out her phone to check.
Sure enough, a video posted by some random netizen was blowing up.
The video showed the scene of their argument. Someone in the restaurant must've uploaded it.
Wesley was a hotshot singer, and Robert was a big name in the music biz. Given their past beef, the post quickly went viral.
The comment section was on fire. Wesley's fans, besides roasting Robert for being a jerk, also praised Samantha. Someone had dug up her identity and was hyping her up. They said she had a commanding presence and was drop-dead gorgeous, a role model for modern women.
Soon, the focus shifted from Wesley and Robert to Samantha. Several posts about her started popping up online. Many curious netizens were digging into her past.
Being from the Gordon Family, Samantha was well-protected. Netizens couldn't find much about her. But many who knew her uploaded her school photos.
Samantha was getting mad love for her looks from netizens.
