Chapter 478 Need to be in Good Health
Arriving downstairs and seeing Zephyr silently accompanying them, Nora made up her mind and said, "Dr. Wright, you can go back. I'll accompany her."
Zephyr knew that Nora wanted to keep him away from Sandy. He suppressed the bitterness in his heart and didn't follow along.
However, his gaze stayed on Sandy until they turned a corner, and he couldn't see them anymore. He had been standing still in the same place for a long time without leaving.
Not far away, Suzy, who had just come to the school to film an advertisement, saw Zephyr and stared at him with her eyes narrowed, feeling curious.
She thought, 'The way this man looks at Sandy is not normal. It's a look of admiration. Does he like Sandy? Then who is Cora?'
"You immediately help me investigate someone," Suzy said to her assistant.
She wanted to know Zephyr's complete information and find out the relationship between him and Sandy.
Nora supported Sandy as they walked out of the laboratory building toward Frederick's car when suddenly, a car that was going very fast and quickly reached them came speeding toward them.
Nora was startled, and without thinking, she pushed Sandy aside.
"Dr. Smith," Frederick called out as he rushed toward her with great concern.
Nora looked at the car approaching them and instinctively closed her eyes, thinking she was going to be hit. She heard the screeching sound of the car tires and the friction against the ground, and then everything went silent.
Nora slowly opened her eyes and saw that the car had stopped just two inches away from her.
"Thank goodness I wasn't thrown by the car," Nora said, feeling relieved and let out a long breath.
"Dr. Smith," Frederick called her attention. He had already reached her, and his usually calm face was full of panic.
He thought, 'If Dr. Smith had gotten hurt in front of me today, Mr. Gordon would probably kill me.'
"Don't worry, I'm fine," Nora reassured him with a smile.
Seeing that she was unharmed, Frederick relaxed a bit, nodded, and walked menacingly toward the car, pounding on the window.
The door opened, and someone got out of the driver's seat.
Nora glanced at the person but didn't have the mind to question them at the moment. She quickly turned to find Sandy because she was worried about her.
At that moment, Sandy, whom Nora had pushed to the ground, was getting up.
"Sandy, are you okay?" Nora asked and quickly helped her up.
Sandy's face was a bit pale, and she held her stomach, shaking her head. "I'm fine", she said.
Nora checked on her, making sure everything was all right except for her fast heartbeat, which was probably due to the scare.
Nora apologized with a smile, "Sorry, I pushed you in a hurry."
Sandy teased, "What are you apologizing for? I should be the one thanking you. When I was in danger, you selflessly stood in front of me to protect me. I'm really touched."
Nora replied lightly, "Don't be touched. It's Kenneth scolding me for not taking good care of you."
Sandy laughed, feeling warm and touched, and her heart felt a bit emotional. She really liked Nora's character.
Now that Sandy was fine, Nora shifted her attention to the man.
At this moment, Frederick had grabbed the man by his collar.
"Tell me, who are you? Why did you intentionally hit us with your car?" Frederick demanded.
The man looked apologetic and said, "I'm sorry, I really didn't do it on purpose. I'm a beginner; I just got my driver's license. I was nervous and mistook the accelerator for the brake while trying to avoid other vehicles. I truly didn't mean it. If you don't believe me, you can check my driver's license."
Watching the man's innocent and apologetic expression, Frederick narrowed his eyes and said sternly, "Show me your driver's license."
"Sure, but don't you have to let go first," the man said calmly, looking at Frederick's hand gripping his collar.
Frederick let him go, and he turned around to reach into the car. He took out a driver's license from the center console and handed it to Frederick.
Frederick took the driver's license, looked at it, and then the man, discerning its authenticity.
The driver's license was genuine.
The man did indeed get his driver's license a few days ago.
Frederick handed the driver's license back to the man, his expression remaining serious.
"Frederick," Nora called out.
Frederick turned around and respectfully took two steps back.
"Dr. Smith, I checked; this man is a beginner, not skilled in driving," Frederick informed.
Hearing this, Nora glanced at the man and noticed his smiling eyes.
The man had well-defined features, deep and inviting eyes, and slightly curly hair. He stood about 7 feet tall and wore only a white sweater on top and black pants below.
He had a tall stature and a noble temperament, not looking like a bad person.
Of course, judging whether he was a bad person just based on appearance alone was not enough.
Nora scrutinized him and noticed that he looked somewhat pale.
Due to her professional instincts, she felt that this man's physical condition might not be good.
"Apologies, ladies. You were scared just now, right? This is my business card; you can make any requests with it," he said, taking out two business cards and handing them to Nora and Sandy.
Nora took one and glanced at it, seeing the man's name on it.
His name was Matthew Jones.
Nora put away the business card and looked at Sandy.
Sandy smiled at her and shook her head, indicating that there was no need to blame him further.
Nora looked at Matthew again and said, "Since you didn't mean it, we won't pursue this any further. But please drive skillfully before getting back on the road; it's better for both you and others."
Matthew nodded with a smile, and said, "Thank you for your reminder, but I can take care of it. I noticed that this lady just fell; how about going to the hospital for a check-up? I'll cover all the expenses."
Nora glanced at Sandy again, and Sandy said, "No need, I'm fine, Nora. Let's go."
Nora agreed and turned to take another look at Matthew.
She wanted to ask if he was not feeling well, but they were not familiar with each other, and it seemed impolite to ask such a question.
After thinking for a moment, Nora asks, "Mr. Jones, when was the last time you had a medical check-up?"
The smile on Matthew's face slightly faded but quickly returned to normal. "What's wrong? It's been a while since I had a check-up," he answered.
Nora said, "It's nothing; I just suggest you go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination."
After saying that, she didn't say anything else and helped Sandy into Frederick's car.
Seeing the car slowly drive away, Matthew smiled. He slowly turned around and got into the car, then looked toward the back seat; there was a delicate and cute little girl sitting in it.
On her chubby face, her big eyes shone like the brightest stars in the night.
"Did you see her? Do you like her?" The little girl blinked her big eyes and nodded gently.
Matthew touched her head and then turned around, saying, "She is beautiful and kind-hearted, indeed likable."
The little girl didn't say anything but just took out a piece of paper from her pocket.
On the paper was a painting.
It depicted a man and a woman holding a baby, smiling brightly under the sunlight.
