Chapter 99 Three Kids, My Family

After Aaron was ready, Frederick was already waiting at the door.
He greeted Nora and moved to push Aaron's wheelchair.
Aaron waved him off. "You don’t need to follow me; Nora can push the chair."

Nora, noticing Aaron's return to his composed and aloof demeanor, gladly positioned herself behind his wheelchair and pushed him out the door.
She knew she was in for a battle today beside this titan of industry, hoping to reclaim the contract.
They took the elevator downstairs and followed the signs to the hotel's buffet restaurant.

"Mr. Gordon, Nora," called a voice from behind.
Turning around, Nora saw the Smiths, along with Gayle and Finn, approaching them.
It was Gayle who had called out.
"Good morning," he said, his smile suggestive.
Aaron gave a slight nod to everyone.
"Thank you for your hospitality; we slept well," Aaron responded coolly, undisturbed by the notion that others might speculate about him sharing a room with Nora.

Without waiting for Gayle to respond, he turned to Mrs. Smith. "Madam, good to see you again."
Mrs. Smith smiled back, her gaze falling on Nora as she spoke, "Mr. Gordon, please call me Amelia. Your new secretary is quite attractive and talented."
Nora flashed a smile. "Thanks for the compliment, Amelia. You look radiant today. How are you feeling? Any discomfort?"

"I'm much better now. I didn't expect your acupuncture skills to be so impressive," Amelia remarked.

"You're too kind. It's a pleasure to alleviate such a beautiful and graceful lady's concerns," Nora replied smoothly.

Amelia chuckled, "I've heard from my husband about your charm, and indeed, you have a sweet way with words."

Nora's eyes curved into a smile. "I'm only stating the truth."

There's something mysterious about the chemistry between people. Despite being nearly twenty years apart in age, she and Amelia hit it off instantly.

Gayle's expression darkened slightly, and he shot Finn a look.

Finn got the hint and quickly intervened.

She had a way with words too. Nora glanced at her, noticing strands of her loosely draped hair, accidentally revealing a few faint bruises.

Were those love bites?

Nora's almond-shaped eyes shimmered, deep in thought.

Entering the dining hall for the buffet, Nora picked out a few of Aaron's favorite dishes for him, as he had limited mobility.

Aaron took a hard-boiled egg. Then he peeled it and placed it on Nora's plate.

Nora blinked and tilted her head slightly.

Aaron wiped his hands gracefully with a wet wipe and smiled warmly at her. "Go ahead, eat it."

Nora's heart skipped a beat, sensing that something was off.

She was the secretary; she was supposed to take care of him.

"Mr. Gordon, you’re really good to Nora," Finn noted conspicuously.

Aaron faced the comment squarely. "Nora is my lucky star; it's only right that I look after her."

"Mr. Gordon, your care seems to be quite comprehensive," Gayle hinted with an undertone.

Aaron raised an eyebrow and remained silent, while Amelia said with a laugh from across the table. "Nora is smart and beautiful. If I were a man, I would fall for her and want to take care of her too."

Clearly, Amelia was on Aaron's side.

Nora's smile was gracious. "Thank you. I hope to be as elegant as you are at your age."

"Nora, I'm grateful to you."

"I'm just telling it like it is."

Watching the two share a knowing smile, Gayle's own smile narrowed, a cool glint passing through her eyes.

It was evident that Mrs. Smith had grown a significant fondness for Nora after yesterday's event.

If things continued this way, the tide could very well turn.

Therefore, he had to do something to make Amelia detest Nora!

After the meal, Gayle suggested they go to the racetrack.

The Smith couple agreed without objection. Then, looking at Aaron, Mr. Smith commented, "It's a shame Mr. Gordon's condition hinders him from horseback riding."
Aaron's lips curved into a smile. "As long as you're having a blast with Amelia, I'm fine being the audience."

Mrs. Smith turned to Nora. "Do you ride, Nora?"

Nora had never ridden a horse before. She shook her head. "No, I don't."

"That's alright, we can get a horse trainer to teach you," Amelia suggested.

A horse trainer teaching Nora how to ride?

Aaron's gaze narrowed. "No need to trouble anyone else. Nora, I'll teach you!"

The thought of any man getting close to Nora was not something he fancied!

In Houston,

Suzy stared at the freshly printed genetic test results with a pallid face.

A few days ago, she had submitted samples of Samantha's and Jackson's hair for a genetic comparison.

Now, the results were in, and they weren't zero, nor were they ninety-nine percent; instead, there were thirteen matching chromosome pairs.

She asked what it meant.

They told her that the subjects of the comparison were closely related!

So, was it possible that Samantha was Jackson's niece?

Nora's three children must belong to the Gordon family!

But who was the father?

Suzy's fingers swiftly tucked away the report; the rustle of the paper was both piercing and unbelievable.

Master Gordon had only two grandsons.

Jackson and Aaron.

Now, with Samantha and Jackson being close kin, it meant that Samantha could very well be Aaron's daughter!

How could this be?

When had Aaron been with Nora?

All she knew was that four years ago, just after Aaron had returned home, Edric had played a prank and sent a woman to his bed.

That woman was a college freshman from a low-income family who took a job as a hostess to make ends meet.

Later, Aaron financed her education, and now that she had graduated, she was making a name for herself in showbiz, even earning the nickname of Suzy's look-alike!

Could there be a mistake?

Was Nora the woman Aaron had been with?

The thought sent a shockwave of jealousy through Suzy's heart.

She needed to meet this woman and hear what she had to say!

---

At the equestrian center,

Nora, clad in a dark red riding attire with a helmet perched on her head, led a gentle pony toward Aaron.

The riding outfit was a perfect fit, accentuating her already slender waist.

Under the sun, her beautiful legs were straight, her backside curvy, and amidst her athletic aura, she exuded a feminine grace.

Aaron’s eyes fixed on her, unable to look away.

"Mr. Gordon, are you sure you can teach me? Otherwise, maybe we should get a trainer," she suggested.
Nora's gaze lingered doubtfully on Aaron's legs for a moment.

A narrowing of Aaron's eyes betrayed his irritation.

"Teaching someone to ride is a piece of cake for me, like giving stitches in my sleep after a wild night out."

Nora choked on her words, the discomfort clear in her eyes as she recalled the events of the previous night.

"Mr. Gordon, can we just bury the hatchet about yesterday?"

Aaron's eyebrows arch in amusement, a half-smile playing on his lips. "Nora, I have a knack for remembering confessions, especially when they're about me."

Nora remained silent.

She shot him a look and quickly changed the subject. "Aren't you supposed to be giving me a riding lesson? What are we waiting for?"

With a light chuckle, Aaron wheeled himself closer.

"Grab the reins, step into the stirrup with your left foot, and mount up."

Nora followed his instructions and got onto the horse.

The view suddenly expanded before her, taking her breath away. She turned to Aaron at her side. "What now?"

"If you want the horse to go, you nudge its sides with your calves. The harder the nudge, the faster the pace."

Aaron guided her patiently on how to ride.

Nora listened intently, eager to try.

"Alright, let's give it a shot!"

She squeezed her legs, and the horse began to move.

From his wheelchair, Aaron watched her initial hesitancy transform into growing proficiency, a small smile curling on his lips.

How he wished he could move freely and join her for an exhilarating ride!

After a couple of lively laps, Nora's cheeks were flushed with excitement.

She gently pulled on the reins and came to a stop in front of Aaron.

Just as she was about to speak, the horse beneath her grew restless.

A loud neigh broke the calm, and the horse suddenly bolted forward.
