Chapter 239 About to Be Swamped

Nora wasn't accustomed to this type of entertainment, but there was no escaping Quinn's grip.

Soon enough, the three of them were enveloped by the crowd on the dance floor, and Nora had no choice but to join in reluctantly.

Baldwin swayed unsteadily. He had probably drank too much yet he didn't resist joining in the entertainment and started to dance to the rhythm of the music.

Quinn's face was seductively charming, her eyes filled with a bewitching glow. Twisting her waist, she danced like a midnight fairy, enchanting and irresistible, commanding everyone's attention. Her fair arms, soft as a flower, occasionally brushed against Baldwin, and she giggled, dancing energetically around him.

Baldwin's eyes were hazy, but he didn't resist. He just went with the flow and danced exuberantly with her.

At that moment, a pole slowly rose in the center of the stage, and a dancer went up to perform a pole dance. Noticing this, Quinn felt unsatisfied with just dancing in the crowd, so she tried to pull Nora onto the stage for a pole dance.

Nora was startled and refused to go up, no matter what.

"Coward!" Quinn playfully taunted and swayed her slim waist onto the rising stage.

The woman's seductive figure wrapped around the pole like a serpent, moving with the pulsating music, making the onlookers' blood rush with excitement, whistles filling the air.

Nora's mouth hung open, watching Quinn dance with more than a hint of interest. She couldn't help but think to herself, it's no wonder people spoke ill of her. She was simply too tantalizing.

Nora figured many men with less than honorable intentions drooled over her, unable to have her, they resorted to slandering her reputation.

Quinn didn't stay too long on the stage, she eventually came down. But before she could reach Nora, two men approached her, pulling at her, their faces leering.

Nora quickly tugged on Baldwin and alerted him, "Baldwin, Quinn's being harassed."

Baldwin saw what was happening, and his expression darkened. He made his way through the crowd toward her.

There, Quinn's arm was grabbed by one of the men, and she coldly warned, "I'm counting to three, let go."

The man was slightly overweight, not even in his thirties, with a lecherous look on his face. "Beauty, are you warning me? What are you going to do if I don't let go? Your lips are so pretty!"

The man was about to touch Quinn's face with his other hand. But before it could reach her; he was suddenly spinning through the air. He was over six feet tall but was flipped over Quinn's shoulder and slammed to the ground. He lay there, howling in pain, his companion completely stunned.

Nora and Baldwin, who had tried to help, were also shocked.

Nora exclaimed, "That's so Quinn! Amazing!"

The man's friend helped him up and shouted at Quinn, "You think you can just turn away a good thing when it's given? All right, big guy here is going to teach you a lesson, make you surrender to us.”

The two men underestimated Quinn, which enabled her to find an opportunity, and they quickly found themselves outmaneuvered. Now fully alert, they managed to subdue Quinn, dragging her towards the corner.

Quinn was visibly irritated, struggling desperately. "Who are these creeps? Let go of me! If you dare lay a hand on me today, just see what happens!"

One of the men taunted, "Sweetheart, what can you possibly do to us?"

No sooner had he spoken, a crashing sound echoed overhead as a bottle shattered. A piercing pain shot through his head. He halted midway and slowly turned around to look, only to find Baldwin pointing another bottle at him.

"Let her go!"

Quinn's eyes lit up, and she forcefully shoved her captors away. "Bugs, this is what you get for touching me, a taste of your own medicine!"

After making her point, she trotted over to Baldwin, her smile beaming. "Baldwin, you've helped me again. That was so cool. I won't forget you."

Baldwin, with blurry, drunken eyes, swayed slightly. His moment of heroism was fueled by alcohol, a makeshift courage born from the bottle.

Nevertheless, he valiantly pulled Quinn behind him, slurring out grand statements of protection. "Just stay behind me. I'll handle them."

His towering figure completely shielded the petite Quinn.

Something flashed in Quinn's eyes as she raised an eyebrow knowingly. Ever since she took over the Johnson Group, she'd donned her armor, concealing every vulnerability.

How long had it been since someone protected her like this?

The man with the busted head, also the same one Quinn had thrown over her shoulder earlier, was now seething with anger, dialing his phone furiously.

"Where are you guys? Get down here quickly. Some jerk hit me!"

Nora had been observing the unfolding events. Seeing the man calling for backup, she urgently tugged on Baldwin. "Baldwin, we need to leave now."

Baldwin, heavily under the influence, lacked the sober alertness and logic that he usually had. All he wanted now was to confront the two men before him.

"Nora, don't be scared. I'm here, and I won't let anyone bully you."

Nora rolled her eyes, knowing this was no time for bravado. "Baldwin, Quinn, let's back off for now." Without waiting for an answer, she began pulling Baldwin away. Quinn watched Baldwin's retreating figure and followed suit without a word, stepping back.

Seeing the trio attempting to leave, the two men were not about to let them go easily. "Freeze, think you can just walk away? Not a chance!"

The two men hollered, demanding the trio to stop.

Baldwin, already reluctant to leave, felt his temper flare up again at their provocations, brandishing the broken bottle at them. "You want us to stop, we'll stop. You two scumbags, if you're so tough, come and take us, one-on-one!"
