Chapter 543 An Eye for an Eye
Suzy was furious and anxious when she learned that the police had arrested those troublemakers.
'These useless people!' She had spent a hundred thousand dollars embarrassing Becky, but this was the result? They couldn't even handle a single woman. 'What a bunch of losers!'
Fortunately, she was clever. During the transaction, she had covered herself up tightly and used cash so that even if the police caught them, she wouldn't be exposed.
However, to be safe, Suzy still hid in her apartment for a few days, keeping a close eye on the developments. If there was any sign of trouble, she could flee immediately.
Luckily, everything remained calm, and the issue with Becky seemed to have ended. Suzy felt a bit relieved but started to hate Nora even more.
Because of Nora, her career was ruined, her home was gone, and what was she supposed to do in the future? Was she supposed to let it go? If she were really pushed to the edge, she would take Nora down with her!
At that moment, her phone rang. Nora glanced at it; it was an unknown caller. She answered, "Who is this?"
"I'm Betsy."
Betsy?
Suzy squinted her eyes. "It's you. What do you want?"
Betsy said, "Becky had a little accident. Are you behind this?"
Suzy denied it. "What nonsense are you talking about? I am completely unrelated to it."
Betsy chuckled lightly. "Ms. Hamilton, you don't need to be wary of me. We have a common enemy, Nora. I don't want them to have it easy either."
Hearing this, Suzy felt that Betsy was telling the truth but still didn't dare to let her guard down, fearing that Betsy was trying to trick her.
"Why did you call me? What do you want?"
Betsy said, "Do you want to deal with Nora and Aaron?"
Suzy said hatefully, "Of course I do."
She wanted to kill Nora and that ungrateful man immediately.
"Then let's meet and get a talk," Betsy said.
Suzy thought for a moment and agreed happily, "Alright."
Although she didn't know Betsy well, having one more person to deal with Nora was all right!
On the other end of the line, in a dimly lit private room, Betsy sat on the sofa, respectfully looking at the man beside her.
"I've already arranged for Suzy to come out."
The man lazily leaned on the sofa, wearing a mask that hid his true face. He swirled the wine in his glass and took a sip. His exposed eyes were filled with malice.
"Come here."
Betsy glanced at him with some fear but still moved closer. The man pinched her chin, his voice cold. "Are you afraid of me?"
Betsy quickly shook her head. "No."
The man's hand caressed her face, moving downward, and grabbed her chest.
"Isn't seducing men your specialty? Satisfy me now."
Betsy felt some pain from his grip and said coldly, "Suzy is about to arrive."
The man sneered, "So what? In the entertainment industry, group sex is common, isn't it?"
Betsy felt a bit humiliated but didn't dare to show it, mindful of the man's methods.
"Hurry up."
The man's tone carried a hint of anger as he pushed her head down to his abdomen. He wanted her to use her mouth...
Betsy, enduring the humiliation, unbuckled his belt...
...
Meanwhile, Suzy had put on makeup and changed clothes, ready to go out, when her phone rang again. It was another unknown number. Suzy answered, "Who is this?"
"Is this Suzy?"
"Yes, who are you?"
"This is the Linwood City Police Department. Someone has reported that you are involved in Becky's kidnapping case. Please come to the police station immediately to assist with the investigation."
Hearing this, Suzy's heart skipped a beat, and a trace of panic flashed in her eyes.
"Who reported me? This is groundless and defamatory!"
"For the details, please come to the police station." The other party hung up directly after speaking.
Suzy held her phone in a daze for a long time, barely suppressing her panic. 'Don't be afraid! If the police had solid evidence, they would have arrested her already. Asking her to assist with the investigation is just routine questioning. Yes, that's it!'
Suzy mentally prepared herself, planning to go to the police station first and then to the club for the meeting. She drove away from her apartment, heading towards the police station.
After a while, she vaguely noticed a car following her. Suzy's heart skipped a beat, feeling guilty and starting to think conspiratorially, 'Why is that car following me? Is someone trying to kill me?'
She sped up, but the car behind didn't follow. Maybe she was overthinking. Suzy relaxed a bit and continued driving. However, after about ten minutes, when she reached a bend, the car suddenly caught up again. Suzy tensed up and sped up again. The vehicle behind pursued relentlessly.
Who was following her? What did they want? Suzy, in a panic, took out her phone to seek help but didn't know whom to call. Why was she so pathetic? In the end, she had no one to rely on!
Suzy, feeling desperate, thought of Betsy and wanted to call her. At that moment, her phone rang again. It was another unknown number. Suzy answered, "Hello?"
"Suzy, are you the culprit of Becky's accident?" A man's cold voice came through the phone.
Suzy's heart skipped a beat. "Who are you? Stop talking nonsense!"
"You know whether I'm talking nonsense or not!" The man said coldly, "Suzy, do you think you are safe without evidence? Remember, what you do will come back to you one day!"
Suzy panicked. "What do you want? Who are you?"
The answer was static. At that moment, the car behind it honked, startling Suzy and making her drop her phone.
Suzy wanted to pick up the phone quickly to contact Betsy, so she bent down to pick it up.
When she picked up the phone, she saw a tanker truck slowly driving from west to east. Suzy's eyes widened, and she hurriedly stepped on the brake but accidentally hit the accelerator in her panic.
Her car, like a moth to a flame, sped towards the tanker truck. With a loud bang, the car's front end embedded into the tanker's body. The tanker truck braked urgently, and the driver jumped out to escape. Then, with a loud explosion, flames shot up, illuminating the endless night...
In a black sedan behind, Lucas watched the scene with a cold smile on his face. 'Suzy, you brought this on yourself!'
Originally, he just wanted Suzy to have a car accident as a lesson. So, he used the police's name to make Suzy go to the station. He arranged two cars on Suzy's route to let her experience what Becky had gone through. He didn't expect Suzy's mental state to be so poor, getting scared by a phone call, a sure sign of a guilty conscience.
"Mr. Gordon, where to go now?" The driver asked.
"Back to the hotel."
He had avenged his woman and should go back to claim his reward!
