Chapter 766 The Argument Resumed

"Hey, Uncle Caden!" Ursula greeted Caden obediently.

"The environment in Youston is quite habitable; Uncle Caden and Uncle Edward look just as youthful as ever. Not only youthful but also more mature and elegant compared to the young ones!" Her voice was soft, complimenting Caden.

Caden was amused. "Ms. Ford, you have a way with words."

Ursula cooed, "I speak the truth; I don't like to lie."

Caden's face lit up with a smile. "You all go inside and have some drinks. Edric, you are Aaron's best friend, and I consider you half a son, so don't treat yourself as a guest. Take care of your parents and guests for us."

Edric was called out and quickly responded, "Of course."

After a few more exchanges, Edric glanced at Aaron.

Aaron's expression remained indifferent.

Edric's gaze then shifted to Nora.

Seeing Nora's indifferent glance, Edric felt a bit uneasy for some reason.

Edric still vividly remembered Nora's temper.

Back in Lindwood City, it was because of Anna that Nora almost caused him to break up with Jenny.

Last night, Jenny must have complained about something after meeting Nora.

He hoped Nora wouldn't misunderstand him, making Jenny break up with him.

Edric thought as he led Fiona, Edward, and others inside.

Nora pursed her red lips slightly as she heard Fiona telling Edric, "Son, later, you take Ursula to mingle with the young people. She's unfamiliar with Youston, so take good care of her and introduce her to some friends."

Nora unconsciously turned her head and saw Fiona pushing Ursula towards Edric.

Her brows furrowed instantly.

Fiona was indeed a matchmaker as Jenny had described.

After receiving a few waves of guests, Caden instructed Aaron to take Nora inside to attend to the guests, not needing to stay at the door with them.

Aaron acknowledged and led Nora inside.

Perhaps because it was a good day, Jeffery, though not smiling much, didn't argue with Caden.

She managed to keep her temper in check for now.

However, the tension hadn't dissipated.

Just as Aaron led Nora a few steps inside, they heard a commotion at the entrance.

They turned back to see Jeffery in a heated discussion with Caden.

Jeffery seemed agitated.

Caden bent down to pick up the phone she had thrown to the ground.

After a couple of curses, Jeffery turned to leave, but Caden grabbed her hand, causing her to stumble and almost fall.

Nora tugged at Aaron."Your parents are arguing again."

Aaron's expression darkened. "Let's not get involved."

Seeing Aaron trying to lead her away, Nora quickly said, "Don't be like that; let's go see what's happening. With so many guests here today, we can't afford to be a spectacle."

Nora let go of Aaron's hand and walked towards Jeffery and Caden.

Aaron pursed his lips lightly and followed at a measured pace.

As Nora approached, she heard Jeffery berating Caden.

"You shameless jerk. Let go of me. I want to see what that vixen looks like!"

Caden held onto Jeffery tightly, his face full of anger.

"Jeffery, I warn you, if you embarrass me today, we'll get a divorce!"

Upon hearing this, Jeffery became even more furious.

"Don't threaten me. Let me tell you, you were the one who betrayed me first. If you don't want to lose two-thirds of your assets, you better not provoke me!"

Caden retorted, "You're the one pushing me to betray you!"

Jeffery added, "You can't even control your own body, Jeffery. How can you be so shameless at your age?"

As Jeffery and Caden's voices grew louder, Nora intervened, "Mom, Dad, please stop arguing. There are so many guests. Even if you don't care about yourselves, at least think about Aaron."

Aaron stood by her side, and upon hearing her words, he glanced at her.

Nora continued, "Aaron already manages such a large company; he's already under a lot of pressure. If you make a scene now, not only will it be a spectacle, but it will also affect the stock market, and Aaron will face criticism."

Jeffery and Caden were still heated, so Nora had to use Aaron as an excuse.

She hoped that Jeffery and Caden would reconsider.

Indeed, after they glanced at Aaron, both Jeffery and Caden fell silent.

Aaron remained calm, but deep down, he didn't care about Jeffery and Caden's ongoing argument.

However, following Nora's lead, he refrained from telling them to keep arguing.

His hazel eyes scanned Jeffery and Caden lightly as he asked, "What's going on?"

Upon hearing this, Jeffery glared at Caden, "His mistress called him just now, saying she was here. Do you think I'm not angry?"

Upon hearing this, Caden became furious.

"Jeffery, stop calling her a mistress. She's here to sing for me, to celebrate my birthday, not to be humiliated by you!" Caden said.

Jeffery sneered. "If she's here to sing, then why are you stopping me from seeing her?"

Caden retorted, "I'm worried you'll start a fight for no reason."

"What? Feel sorry for her?"

"You're simply unreasonable!"

As Jeffery and Caden's voices rose again, Aaron furrowed his brows once more.

"Both of you, speak calmly!"

His voice was not loud but carried the authority of a superior.

Jeffery and Caden fell silent again, turning away from each other.

Nora sensed Aaron's impatience and knew that if it weren't for her insistence, Aaron might have left by now.

She felt sorry for Aaron.

Nora's eyes shifted as she asked Caden, "Dad, has the singer already entered the hotel?"

"Yes, she didn't come through the main entrance; she should have used the staff entrance and is currently in the dressing room getting ready," Caden replied.

Caden's expression wasn't pleasant but softened slightly in tone as he responded to Nora's inquiry.

Nora raised an eyebrow. "Since Mom wants to see that lady, I could accompany her. What about it?"

In truth, Nora was also curious about the singer who had come to perform.

It should be the same girl she had seen at the club last night.

Thinking back to their encounter and the way the girl had looked at her, Nora was eager to find out if she had misinterpreted the situation or if the girl actually knew her.

Caden hesitated, furrowing his brows as if unsure how to respond.

Jeffery glanced at Nora, a hint of surprise in her eyes.

She probably didn't expect Nora to offer to accompany her to meet the woman.

It seemed like Nora was on her side.

"Let's go."
Aaron agreed without hesitation, following Nora's lead.
